nice job Craig but I would move your clearance plane to be much higher than the part, its so that you don't crash into the part on the first lead in!! also I would do that for each of the tools and for every part in fusion 360!!

Graig, you would be better off peeling it of in X/Y direction through an adaptieve clearing strategy as with Fusion360. It would be faster and increases tool-life. (you are now using the smallest amount of available) The tip of your tool is running at 0+feed SFM, and although a tools geometry could be optimized for Z cutting, it's not optimal, this type ramping is better than plunging though, even without adaptive clearing an entry motion that moves down outside the stock (to avoid plunging) would be faster and better. I would select the stock by size, and change the program accordingly to run it adaptive at full depth.

If I could only figure out how. If I choose fixed or relative box size it does that for the the pallet base, pallet and stock all together. If I choose a component, it doesn't give me any option for an offset.

    Hi Craig,
    Thanks for sharing.
Looks like you may have quite a few of these to make. Would it speed up things if you made a fixture plate to hold multiple parts? A separate disposable fixture plate will also help preserve your vacuum plate.
BTW: How are you enjoying Fusion360? I have downloaded it and watch as many of the videos as I can but so far have not cut any parts with it.
    John

      Hey John,
Yeah, I have been contemplating making a 4 station universal pallet. Just haven't decided on it yet. At $200 a pop for the pallets, I want to think it through. I could attach fixture plates to a pallet I guess but I like the simplicity of pallets.
Fusion 360 has gotten much better. There were bugs in the past but it seams better now. There are the occasional little things but nothing that has affected production.
You should give it a try. If you have any questions just let me know and I will try to help.
      Craig

Try going full depth and stepping in sideways - it will use more of your tool. Right now you are just using the very tip of the tool.....

Unfortunately the stock from my supplier can vary as much as 1/8" over so the endmill would crash if I used adaptive unless there was so way of offsetting where it starts. Also, I don't see any way of setting up stock for an individual component and also add stock offset.

Craig's Machine Shop This would be real easy in Fusion 360. If you built your file right you could have multiple start locations depending on the size of your material. Or you could have multiple files and select the appropriate file to fit the stock size.....

Craig glad to hear you were able to speed up your cycle time. Shoot me an email @ mpiehl65@gmail.com and we will see if we can get it down even lower. Im running a tormach as well.
