Low Budget delays I like : 1) Behringer VD400 - Small. Has good tone. Not a mushy tape sound. Cheap, simple and disposable. 2) Ibanez DE-7 - Has digital and a delicious analog sound. Just as good if not better than the DM-2. Frail footswitch, don't drop it. Superb sound and doesn't weigh much. 3) Behringer DR400 - (see VD 400) Stereo, simple and light. Throw it in your bag....the reverb section is good enough.
You should have shown the Behringer VD-400. It's a real bucket brigade analog delay in a plastic enclosure (clone of the Boss DM-2) that costs $25 USD. The max delay time is only 300 ms unless you MOD it (as easy as opening it and turning a screw). It gives the classic Flock of Seagulls - "I Ran" sound. Modding the delay time longer also increases the shortest delay time longer, but you can get two for $50 and leave one normal if you want it for slap back/shorter delays.
Nice video, nice playing, thank you very much for the demo. As a suggestion: A more detailed walk-through of the setup. I assume the chain was guitar - overdrive - delay (stereo) - 2 amps? It would be interesting to know what delays are suitable for an fx-loop of an amp, since in the high-gain world they are used right there. Which often means +4 db. Which some of those delays probably can't handle. Cheers! 🙂
Thanks for watching! That's exactly how the signal chain was. Regarding the fx loop: I have never had any issues with delays in the loop. Most probably because the makers know how many players use the pedals that way and they make sure it all works fine. Cheers //Kris
Anyone looking for great affordable delays should not overlook the Zoom MS-70CDR (or MS-100BT), the phenomenal Donner Yellow Fall, and the Nux Time Force (also sold as the Donner Black Arts Delay). Their omission is not to Thomann's credit, and they should carry them in the store (only the MS-70 is available).
My friend...just some no-drama advice to help your overall technique. Try leveling out your vibrato, as you often pull notes out of tune. You should move the notes sharp & flat the same amount & speed. I hope this helps...Otherwise, thx for the great video !!! ✌

Da Gitarreneffekte aber zu 99% Mono ausgeführt werden machen Stereo Synthi, Streicher oder Pianosounds wenig sinn... aber wenn du einen Moog mono durch einen Gitarrenphaser oder Delay jagst geht die Sonne auf (bei einem Distortion dann unter) :D........ Faustregel: Alles erlaubt was gut klingt!

Diese Tone-Print Geschichte von hab ich noch nicht ganz verstanden. Ich bin selbst IT-Ler aber lass doch die EDV bitte weg wo man sie nur weglassen kann! Martin Krauser I agree but the learning curve for the CDR70 is very steep, good unit but overly complex in my opinion.
I think there shouldnt be any external reverb in delay demos ...but great video and production! cheers...
