    I grew up in 70's when some doctors still did home visits, now we have virtual visits. Not just that, doctors can do operations anywhere from their office.

    Thank you for sharing this information, Dr. Malik! Telemedicine is so useful for patients these days, and it's great you walk through the details so people know what to expect. Wondering if you've had questions from patients about compounded medications.

    Virtually meeting your doctor is the best way to recover yourself sitting at your home. Thus also reduces the risk of spreading the virus from one individual to another. For digital Telemedicine services, you can also download the free app Prescribery which pairs you with a locally licensed doctor and also helps you in delivering the medications at your door steps. Thank-you Rena for sharing such great information.

    Thank you. I watch your post on a regular basis. Actually look forward to them. For a virtual visit many patients could take their temp, pulse, and B. P. I found you by accident. Actually thought for a moment you were my Dr. Rupa Kitchens, MD. You are younger, not sure how much, not going to walk in that mine field. Dr. K. has a few youtube post and a FB page. Just a lowly patients here always trying to discover something new. Again, thank you for doing this.

      Thanks so much for your comment! You are right patients can take their own vitals but it's not mandatory so I don't want people to feel overwhelmed if they can't do that. Let me know what else you'd like to see on the channel!

    I think this is great. I know this video is relatively old now but I'm looking to find a decent platform so that I can order more triamcinolone for my psoriasis condition. I don't have any insurance nor do I have the time to go to my primary physician just so that I can get a prescription for something that'll likely have for the remainder of my life. Not to mention the fact that I frequently travel outside of the state so having access to getting my prescription anywhere in the country would be amazing.

    Thank you for the video. Does the MA conduct the intake over the phone and then connect the patients via the platform? How does the transition take place? Or does the MA also use the same video platform?

      Every office is different. My staff calls over the telephone and then you connect to the telemedicine platform to tall to me.

    Hello! I work in healthcare, although am not a provider, and am curious how billing works in telemedicine at your practice?

    • @RenaMalikMD
      @RenaMalikMD  4 роки тому

      Typically billed by the amount of time you spend and/or medical complexity of the visit. Thanks for watching!

    Aloha Dr. Malik thank you for sharing your information. You mentioned devices required would be a computer or phone I suppose any media device with audio mic & internet connection would work. But how does the patient get connected as I discovered these platforms are for physicians only with that said usually websites or application requires an account creation. I've been trying to find information on how the patients get connected to these platforms but there's no clear explanation online. I googled How does a patient get connected to telemedicine or similar website or application or platform, all the information that comes up online is how physician can see their virtually while keep social distancing. I was just looking for a step by step telemedicine instructions for the patient specifically. Again thank you Dr. Malik Aloha, I hope my question made sense

    • @RenaMalikMD
      @RenaMalikMD  4 роки тому

      Depends on the device your using and the platform that hte physician is using. Sometimes it can be as simple as clicking on a link, sometimes you have to download an app or a web browser extension.

    Personally, I'm not fond of video-conferencing, but I might consider an audio-only consultation. It seems like very little is gained via the video portion of virtual visits, anyway. So, would audio-only be something that you would consider doing?

    • @RenaMalikMD
      @RenaMalikMD  4 роки тому +1

      I do it for follow-up patients occasionally but I personally enjoy seeing my patients faces on video conference.

    Hi Doctor Malik. I developed Chronic prostatitis with pelvic pain that my Doctor said there was nothing he could do to help me with. It lasted in severity on and off for about 4 years. It finally cleared up but left me with an enlarged prostate .What would cause this ? He said antibiotics would not help at the time.

    • @RenaMalikMD
      @RenaMalikMD  4 роки тому

      Enlarged prostate is independent of chronic prostatitis. It's caused by aging and hormonal influences.
