I've been on 5 different ships and this is easily my favourite. £4000 for a two week Med Cruise for a family.of four with a balcony. There are extra costs but if you buy a fun pass it normally works out pretty cheap. If the activities were free they would be fully booked all the time anyway! Im definitely a bit of a tight wad and I feel it is great value! A few tips. Gym changing room has a free hidden Sauna! Morning exercise classes are free and great. Swimming is empty when second seating of dining goes on. Book both the paid shows in advance, the cocktail makes it a good value for money experience. For a cheap cocktail, sneak on some spirits and mix with the ACE juice. Going on my third cruise on Virtuosa in July.
I got quoted 12,000 for 12 nights next August for family of 5. That included tips and deluxe drinks package but seems a fair wack more than 4k. Where do you book ? Directly ?
The prices do go up and down dramatically, but if you find ot cheaper after booking they will refund you the difference. I booked directly online in April for £4100, in January it was over £7000 for the same holiday. I don't do the drinks packages though.

Thanks for watching and for your lovely comment! We always get our drone shots before embarking in Southampton for cruise lines were drones are banned onboard.
Thanks for this tour, you covered it all and spot on about how stunning it is, but to get full experience you need deep pockets. Excellent stuff, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for tuning in! If you want to experience MSC properly, you need very deep pockets! We've read so many reviews which are scathing about MSC - and we think you have to spend some money to truly discover the MSC experience. Nothing in life is free - you either pay it as part of your cruise fare, or when you are onboard. You certainly pay onboard with MSC. Thanks for your comment :)
We got off the Virtuosa this morning after a three day cruise to Guernsey and France. It is certainly a beautiful ship, and the food and service were excellent. My main complaint was the unbearable noise level in the restaurant and the public areas in the evenings - we had to go back to our cabin for a bit of peace and quiet. We had an accessible cabin on Deck 9. The shower was a good size but the beds were like camp beds - they moved every time you sat on them. We spend as little as possible on cruises - the cruises cost enough on their own - so we only eat and drink what is included in the price. This is our third time with MSC and we have always found that they try to get as much money out of you as possible - we could not move for tripping over photographers in the evening and people were certainly spending a fortune everywhere. I sat next to the Champagne Bar one afternoon and it was certainly busy.
Thanks for this tour, really well done and you both make it look beautiful. Me and the Mrs can dream of yacht club, but we will stay with Bella class for a while!
Thanks for watching and commenting Cliff! Everyone should experience Yacht Club at least once - it is very fairly priced when compared to suite experiences with other cruise lines. Just keep your eyes peeled for a good deal.
Hey! You can either purchase them prior to your cruise from their online portal, which you’d need to log into with your details, or when onboard - we’d recommend booking prior to your cruise as they do sell our fast ☺️
Thanks for this. I enjoyed your Iona tour which I watched lots before we went on. My fears about the dress code were pretty well founded unfortunately because even in jeans a polo and shoes I still got looks. So we've booked Virtuosa next and it looks a bit more relaxed. How did it compare to Iona? I've seen other vids that say it's pretty similar but I'd be interested in your view. Cheers.
Hello Darren, thanks for your comment! Dress code with MSC is very relaxed, you don't need to worry. We took a dinner jacket but didn't wear it, as people usually make do with a smart shirt and jeans on a formal night!
Hello Wilson! If you go onto MSC’s website and click manage booking, you should be able to do it through there! Failing that, you’ll be able to book onboard it will just cost a few quid more! Best of luck :)
@@sailawaymag Hi, thanks for your reply. I actually did that, I logged in my MSC Cruise, go under "My Cruise", I can find bookings for Excursions, Beverages, Spa & Beauty, Internet Photo and Others. I've gone through every single tab, I see nothing on Carousel at all. :( I've also downloaded MSC For Me app on my phone, I can see Carousel Productions at Sea, under Recreation Venues, but no where can I book them. We have a big family party of 9, so a little here and there would save us a lot in the long run. :)
Is travel insurance ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY ON THIS SHIP? My travel agent booked my cruise and as an aside said I need travel insurance-after I paid for the cruise. I am from USA and just booked cruise from Wales and hard to find insurance to purchase here for a US citizen. I would rather go with out, if I can. What do you think? PS I am not the type to need travel insurance. I am a life long traveler and never had travel insurance. Thanks so much. I got to figure this out ASAP or possibly cancel cruise. Cruise to sail Dec 2, 2022. Thank you in advance. Terry
Hello Terry. We cannot stress enough how important travel insurance is. I (Jay) worked on a cruise ship once as an officer. A woman onboard required a medical evacuation after suffering a stroke. She made a full recovery, but was left with a £48,000 bill for medical expenses and the bill for the helicopter to be evacuated. On a story even closer to home, my dad broke his leg in Greece a few years ago. He took out cheap insurance which didn't cover repatriation - and we had to pay £6500 to fly back with a budget airline. We all hope that we'll never need it - but accidents have a habit of taking us all by surprise. All the best.
What is the primary age of those on board? Young like Carnival? Older, like Celebrity? Broader range like Princess/NCL? ALSO, is smoking allowed anywhere inside the ship, including casino?
Hello, thanks for your comment! From our experience, the average age was 30-50, with alot of children onboard! Probably one of the younger demographics we’ve experienced on a ship - certainly a lot younger than Celebrity, HAL and Cunard! There’s a few smoking area as scattered around on open decks, otherwise you can smoke in the casino! Hope that helps :)
Thank you so much for this, after reading TripAdvisor reviews i was considering cancelling. Due to go with my children aged 5 & 1 in June and you have really put my mind at ease 🤗
Hey Sarah, we’re so glad you found this helpful! We’re sure you’ll have an amazing time onboard, but please do let us know how it’s goes after as we’d love to know! ☺️
Main dining / buffet food, juices in the buffet at breakfast / lunch and dinner, Port taxes, accommodation, basic tea coffee, but from what we’ve heard they now charge for tap water! So not much really! 😅
Funny I just saw your reply...we went on the cruise in December..it was amazing...I loved it!! One thing that was a pity was everyone on board had the flu from day 3-4 . With all the lifts jammed with ppl and everybody touching the utensils during food timings, it wasn't a shock but it made us miss out on a ton of fun! Still enjoyed it immensely. Definitely planning my next cruise already.
Stunning ship had amazing experience but only downsize is only about 100 seats in the Galleria live music venue most space is taken by a expensive chocolate factory and branded expensive shops and no seats to enjoy the giant led screen.very few seats in other bars also definitely not for who love night revellers or dancing,as there are so many passengers hogging these bars.
Hey, you mention the price of the food, such as the Mexican being £16.99 for all you can eat, the cruise I have booked says it includes all meals, is that only at certain restaurants or could I eat at the Mexican for free?
Hello Chris. Your cruise fare includes the Martketplace Buffet, the Main Dining Room and the Poolside Grill. All other venues are extra charge. Hope that helps :)

In Aurea and Yacht Club, you have a lot more freedoms - and you would certainly have a very different experience in our view!

Just got back home! It was absolutely amazing. One of the best holidays I’ve ever been on! I loved how open spaced it was, even when everybody was aboard it felt empty because it was so big. Loved how many different meal and drink options there were. I also loved how the kids clubs were all split into age categories so children could interact with people their own age range!
Hey Zoe, that’s amazing we’re so glad you had a great time onboard, and thanks for sharing with us! Will you be booking another cruise with MSC again then any time soon?! 🤔☺️
Just got off Virtuosa after a week around North Europe. Our 9th cruise but our first with MSC. Good things: Very modern glamorous ship. Best entertainment we've ever had. Cleanest ship I've been on. Best cabin size for the money. Best shower pressure. Quickest lifts (elevators) and good call system. Lots of crew, good service. Bad things: Smoking in the casino (it stinks) 15% service charge added to drinks and Spa prices. QR codes for menus were a pain. MDR menu very hard to find before dining (the weeks menu is actually available to view on the large screens around the ship) unfortunately guest services don't know this ! Not on the app. Food in MDR very hit n miss in quality. Suspect they use lower quality ingredients. Guest services not helpful and were very dismissive. The endless in cabin announcements in 5 languages on port days. Muster drill very long winded and over complicated. Cabin smart TV fixed so you can't use a USB stick, you cannot cast anything from a device to it despite it says you can. Zoe, the in room blue tooth speaker never worked. The "orange juice" with free cabin breakfast (fantastic class) was in fact not juice but squash, but if you paid for a breakfast in cabin you got fresh squeezed orange. juice. Labeling of food in the buffet poor, very few if any ingredients listed. Often it would just say " a selection of desserts". Few prices displayed in shops, they constantly say 20% off, but off what??! Spa prices changed every day and difficult to find prices. Again in the chocolate shop staff would come up to you and then say "special offer for you today etc" depending on their daily sales targets I suspect. Excursions need to be read in detail, just because it mentions a cathedral on the itinerary didn't mean you would actually get to go in it. Lunch on one excursion was buy it yourself at a motorway service station. Conclusion: Good value for money, you get what you pay for. MSC I feel is very "Smoke and Mirrors". Glad I tried them but doubt will use them again.
Very small pool compared to the capacity in number of people I haven’t seen any room most likely because they’re small Staff underpaid Very expensive for what? Being in a prison like. No thanks I’d love to cruise on the rivers though, the ships seem much more comfortable with good size private bedrooms
I'm going to this cruise next year I so can't wait. I just wanted to ask is they a Cinema. And if they is do you have to pay or is it part of the package. And the entertainment the tribute acts and magicians. Is that free to watch aswell please
Hey your going to have the best time! There’s no cinema but they have a big screen by the pool, which will play films now and again, the tribute acts and magic shows are free in the main theatre, however there is an extra charge show in the carousel lounge ☺️
@@sailawaymag I sure am and that's absolutely fine Thankyou so much. Also when it's booked will I get some paperwork or something telling me what places I can go to like food places and other stuff. And what other stuff I've got to pay for. And finally when I start paying can I use cash and card and for the card payment is it my bankcard I can use or is they like a cruise card where I will have My money details on to it. And cause I'm going for 2 weeks what places will it stop at and for how many hours 👍🏻☺️
So you won’t get any paperwork saying where you can and can’t go, but if you watched our Virtuosa review you will see we label what is and isn’t included in your cruise fair, plus the prices! As for payment onboard you will register your card when embarking, and then your cabin card will then be used for all additional transactions onboard. As for the ports your visiting, we can’t say as we’re not sure what itinerary your doing, if you let us know we might have some recommendations ☺️
You’re more than welcome, we’re always a here to help so please do stay in contact! It might be easier to follow us on Facebook or Instagram as we would be able to reply quicker on them! 😊 Also for the extra charge entertainment in the carousel lounge, we would defiantly say pre book as they sell out fast on embarkation days 🙂

Conclusion:
Good value for money, you get what you pay for. MSC I feel is very "Smoke and Mirrors".
Glad I tried them but doubt will use them again.
@@VikPaints For me Zoe worker well it was hard to set up but then it worked perfectly well. And I agree with the announcements in the cabins.

What does the word eleavted mean
Means the overall dining experience is lifted compared to dining experiences in Bella and Fantastica!
Pay pay pay horrible ship far to big and very expensive beer £9 extras extras extras
Very true!! 😅
Very small pool compared to the capacity in number of people
I haven’t seen any room most likely because they’re small
Staff underpaid
Very expensive for what? Being in a prison like. No thanks
I’d love to cruise on the rivers though, the ships seem much more comfortable with good size private bedrooms
There are plenty of ocean ships which are less crowded! We were in Yacht Club - which is anything but a prison! This ship had five pools….
Beast of a ship don't stay on deck 14,u won't sleep your under market place restaurant..
@@sailawaymag soon as it's Booked I will let you know everything thankyou and for the entertainment do you recommend we pre book seats
You’re more than welcome, we’re always a here to help so please do stay in contact! It might be easier to follow us on Facebook or Instagram as we would be able to reply quicker on them! 😊
Also for the extra charge entertainment in the carousel lounge, we would defiantly say pre book as they sell out fast on embarkation days 🙂
im going on this ship on augast 24th 2024 i cantb wait
You’re going to have an AMAZING time! 🤩
