We just got off the MSC Seashore. It’s was a week of pluses and minuses. First thing our drink package didn’t work. 45 minutes in the customer service line and we got it fixed. I liked the simplicity of the drink package and they poured quite heavily. Plus, you’re able to get two at a time as opposed to Carnival’s single. But it’s also restrictive. You if one person assigned to your table has a particular package, then all of you have to have that package. But, the choices of the Easy+ were weak at best. I’m a whiskey fan and like to try stuff that I’ve never had. Most bars didn’t have a deep selection and the only whiskeys at $10 were Jameson, Crown and Elijah Craig (when you could find a bar that has it). Those are all some good go-to whiskeys, but I’d like to see more. I’m not a “boat drink” fan but there was a decent selection of those on the Easy+ menu. The food was really good. On the buffet as well as the dining room. We also ate at Kaito Tepanyaki as well as Hola tacos, two of their paid restaurants. Both were out of this world. For the price and quality, Hola is a must do. But, service wasn’t great. In the dining room we had wrong and missed orders that took a long to time to get corrected if they did at all. Getting bar service at a table was non-existent. The island was beautiful and it was cool to be there overnight. There was a schedule change, so on the second day we had an 11:30 am all aboard time which didn’t make it worthwhile to go to shore. Again, it would be nice to get bar and food service at the chairs. We saw two shows. We couldn’t get anything else reserved. They were OK. Not great. The ship was beautiful. But, our friend’s daughter found mold on her bed skirt. They lifted the mattress and the whole frame was covered in it. She called customer service and they cleaned it up but we’re less than worried about it. My theory is, there is little airflow in the rooms. You have to use your room key to operate the lights and AC. You can’t trick the system with a gift card like other lines. I think this lends to the formation of mold. There were complaints about the app after we booked, but it seemed to be working fine for us. It would be nice, though, to get bar menus on it. I wanted to like MSC, but the entertainment, service and overall vibe of Carnival has made us fans. Cheers!
We've been on five since they started in Port Canaveral. Bar service in the MDR is stupid of you want more than beer or wine. We did push back last cruise and the "supervisor" was bringing my wife's drink without asking. It was more of a chore than should be before. If you look at the entertainment schedule early in the morning, you'll always be able to get a reservation, no problem. After five cruises in a year and a half, not much has changed in entertainment. Last two cruises had great comedians. 2 out of our 4 cabin stewards were possibly the weakest we've ever had, the others were great. The line offers great values, but I'd like a few other free food venues like around the pool. Great pizza.

@@wordgiesworld5483 Same thing here, he did work hard to try and make us happy. He even approached me at the buffet one morning to see if things were getting better. I have heard they do not pay as much as other lines. I watch a lot of crew videos and learned this.
The way you described the Carnival VIFP’s is GREAT! We do love to show our sign and sail cards, our pins, our past and future ships, and we love our Carnival gear😊😂😂😂😂😂
Seen this on other lines. Princess for example. I'm fairly high in status on several lines and don't wear my pins or whatever or expect anything but respectful service from staff that everyone should get. I usually don't even go to the snob parties.
I would add that MSC provides a way more Italian quality food experience in their main dining room. At least on the Cruise in Europe I took with them this year. This might however be seen as negative if you expect to get an American food experience, which is different. MSC is Italian and that shows.
I've sailed Carnival 4 times in 4 diferent ships & I've sailed MSC 5 times 4 diferent ships. We've had some minor issues on MSC with the dining room service and Stateroom, but these were promptly correct. Yes you do get more food options on Carnival and service may be better, but if you keep in mind how much money you could save by sailing MSC and keep realistic expectations, I'm sure you could find something to like or even prefer from MSC over Carnival. Just give them a try before passing judgment. Don't take someone else's word about MSC.
I keep seeing comments that the food is bad but videos where I actually see the food and it looks fine. What do you think? Are the ships clean? We are thinking about going on the Seascape. Edit to add that the site continues to crash. I can't book even if I was positive I was going 😕. That's a concern, I'm not sure what is causing it.

MSC may be cheaper but you get what you pay for. Carnival has such better food including the free included food. MSC packs more people into their ships so they are more crowded and they have less staffing.
We just sailed Seashore this July 4th holiday. We really enjoyed it. We found the Jazz Quartet in the Brooklynn Cafe to be very good. Smooth vocals and tight. The Rock Royalty show was amazing as well. The choreography went super well with the music. We went to the variety show in the La Cabaret Rouge and really enjoyed a few different acts there as well. The food is yummy. We were in the Yacht Club and the piano player Bartu was truly amazing. The ship is super clean. The staff is super friendly and quick responses to everything. The island is very nice. Although comparing my two sailings, one in a regular balcony and one with YC, I would go to the Ocean House for a few drinks, then head to the buffett and one of the other beaches. The beach was rocky. I understand it helps with erosion. But we loved the beach house for sitting and drinking :D We have another cruise booked with MSC in April for the Greek Isles. I went on Carnival about 14 years ago. It was nice but it is a party ship now and Im getting older.
I grew up in New Jersey, spending my summers down the shore. Carnival is the Wildwood boardwalk. MSC is Cape May. Just depends on the vibe you are looking for.
I would also mention that when booking with Carnival you have the ability to go in whenever you want and just simply make a payment on your cruises everytime you get paid. You can't do that with MSC you have to call in to make a payment or pay the whole thing in full. You also have the ability to buy discount gift cards and use them with Carnival as well.
You left out a very important fact on your video. The prices on MSC are lower and better than Carnival even though MSC uses new ships. For example: It cost me more to sail on the Elation (Carnival) in an ocean view cabin than a balcony cabin on the Seashore (MSC) The Elation was made near the end of the Civil War, while the Seashore was a magnificent ship that is less than 3 years old. Much newer, much larger, a lot nicer ship VS. a century old ship with Carnival. The right comparison would have been: Prices on the MSC Seashore VS Carnival Celebration.
I mostly agree and have been on both lines. I live within a morning drive to Port Canaveral so that is no issue. The MSC buffet, while not great, is way better than Carnival. I thought the Carnival MDR food a bit better and the Guy's Burger and Blue Iguana? nice options that MSC could add. On MSC, upgrading one level let's you get to pick your cabin and the basic beverage package which has always had any drink we want. Love their Island but that is a personal thing, again food on the island could be better. MSC ships are beautiful, clean and new. Staff are mostly great. The only cruise line out of seven I've been on that had any racial tension was Carnival, I have no idea why but it is the only line I've ever seen this. On all the rest, everyone is best friends, this is after 25 cruises. Let's face it, it is the only one you see videos of violent conflicts on UA-cam. We did take a Grandson on Carnival, and they had an excellent program for him.

I disagree 100% with you on the drink package options for MSC. If it is that complicated to figure out your average drink cost and buy the matching drink package maybe you shouldn't be planning cruises. I like not paying one set cost if I am mainly drinking beers, rum and cokes, or 7 and 7s. If you decide to sip Courvoisier VSOP you only pay the difference.
You missed quite a bit. For one, Carnival appeals to families with kids, and lower class people. That is why every cruise fight you see on UA-cam is on Carnival (usually the same demographic, which rarely appears on MSC). MSC has fewer venues, but I have found the food is superior. MSC has tea time and happy hour, which Carnival does not. Also the cruisers on Carnival treat the drink package like a contest…can I max out my 15 drinks per day-which is another reason for all the fights and other problems. On the positive side, you did not mention the Yacht Club on MSC, its ship within a ship that allows for a superior cruise experience in every way.

We did an 11 day Med cruise in 2023, we absolutely love them. Very good value for the money, food was outstanding. We are Gold level with Princess and will not abandon thrm, however MSC has the itineraries we like at very affordable prices. We have sailed Carnival on a couple if occasions to sail with daughters inlaws. Do not like the demographic. Trashy people and so many drunks.
Carnival's food tastes better than MSC, and they only have the dining room for us folks who do not venture to the buffet loaded with filthy people. MSC entertainment is better!

Msc price is cheapest in the market ,compare to carnival it is less entertainment bad food. But what you pay what you get .
