I found that with soundtracks in video games, people always like the soundtrack in a game that they spent the most time playing. For example, one of my most played games is Forza Horizon 3 and a lot of the music in that game is in genres that I don't listen to on a daily basis yet it has become one of my favourite video game soundtracks.
@@MontegoReviewswell no, since I played forza horizon 3 more than 2, and I didn’t like the soundtrack nearly as much as the forza horizon 2 soundtrack. Same can be said about horizon 4 also. Your logic may apply to some games, but it doesn’t work with the horizon genre.
You really had to play forza horizon 2 to understand how good it is, and was back then, at the time of it being released. Thats the problem with reviews 10 years later though.

Good and fair review, for sure. I had a lot of fun with this one back in 2015, was very impressive especially compared to the more "cartoony" look of the first game. The weather effects, the music, the map, the taking pictures of every car in the game thing, etc. Good times.
Thanks. I also think the first three are the best as there was no game pass which was an incentive for the developers to artificially prolong the fourth and fifth game.
I honestly fell in love with this game, even though i managed to play it this year for the first time. I love the music and the location just feels like vacation. Even the start of the game when you drive the car out of a ferry is something i experienced irl in croatia when in 2020 i accidentally encountered croup onelife rally going on a ferry that was going from orebic to korcula. And the music just the music, I love orizon pulse so much in this game. Like i have some drawbacks like cars from fh1 behind donwloadable content that i can't get. Rain not having droplets on camera, street racing and characters not being as climatic. But i still love the gameplay loop that encourages trying new cars but without flooding you with them. I also did not like wheelspins being added and i think that skill points should give you a bit of money in late game but it is still such an amazing game. I love some parts of the casteletto and the italian part of the map is so amazing, planning the championship order so i can seamlessly go on trip from nice to casteletto and from casteletto to sisteron is so good too. I honestly think this is best horizon, even though i have such strong nostalgia bias towards fh1. I was crying when i first played fh2
Great review I remember getting this game on release! I also remember being blown away with the graphics & Having lots of fun with it. I do agree with the repetitive championships after beating so many it gets a bit stale after awhile.
I wish I got the game when it was released, or at least before it was delisted. There were some DLC cars that I like, and apparently the expansions are really good.
@@MontegoReviews it sucks how they delists so many Forza games and DLCs for each one after a certain amount of time. Makes no sense since there are lot of people who are just getting into the franchise and want to buy a lot of the older horizon or Motorsport games.
The problem is the licencing agreements which only last for four years. That has changed now as Forza Horizon 4 is almost six years old and is still being sold.
They actually remodeled all cars interiors in fm 5 for ForzaVista so they can be fully explorable excluding those 24 cars that were in AutoVista from fm4 since they were already made for that feature. I also think that most if not all cars did receive model upgrades. Atleast in terms of details on the car (better textures , better reflections and color, better taillights , lights , better materials etc..) not full remodel so there could be some inaccuracies in shape or measurements on some models.
Wheelspins are a double-edged sword. They didn't really bother me in Horizon 2 because you only got them if you achieved something. However, with each subsequent game, the "achievements" have become increasingly easier and more irrelevant, so that in the end you get a wheelspin for every little thing you do.
I think Xbox One emulation is in the works and so you'd be able to get DLC through that. I might even be better than playing in on an Xbox One or Series console.
Remember, this review is focusing on main Xbox One version not those scammy xbox 360 version The sad fact is the PC user can only enjoy those weird ass 360 version because that's the only way PC gamers can enjoy Forza Horizon 2 that already working on Xenia Emulator, while the main Xbox One version there's not even xbox One emulator yet except if Microsoft decided to remastered this game and release on Series X and PC
Microsoft won't remaster the game. Too many cars to re-license. I think Xbox One emulation will come along at some point, and so people will also be able to get the DLC for the game as well.
I've even bought a used xbox One with FH2 for 50€ after emulating FH1. And it is worth it! I just wish MS would've hidden the non buyable DLC cars in the autoshow. It's like showing sweets that I'll never get :D
The soundtrack is my favorite out of all of them, and it was my first Forza I had really owned beforehand.

That intro with the countdown to zero was brilliant and is the best ever in my opinion

Thanks. I had fun with this one as well.
My biggest criticism with the game is how aggressive the drivatars are.
Other than that this game is nearly perfect in every way imaginable.
Yes, dive bombing and just murdering npcs
Another fantastic review! I absolutely love Horizon 2! Might be my favorite in the series! The first 3 were the best in my opinion!

While the first one will always be legendary, this one always felt like a true vacation, plus the graphics jump helped too lol
I agree. The second game felt like a vacation.
I hope next Forza bring back the Horizon 1 progression

I got unlucky that my first experience was a xbox 360 version
and the fact Xbox One hasn't got a soft mod making it no way to preserve dlcs for the ones who didn't own before delisted
I think Xbox One emulation is in the works and so you'd be able to get DLC through that. I might even be better than playing in on an Xbox One or Series console.
Personally, I was always more interested in Forza Horizon 3 than 2. And it's not because of bias towards the fact that I'm Australian.
I also think the third game is the best in the series.
Best game in the series
it's a game with cars
Sucks I really wanted to get storm island but didn’t get a one till much later
Same. I didn't get an Xbox One until a few months after the game was delisted.
