Yep. States can do just about anything they want with their system of government. As long as it is vaguely “republican” in nature the federal Constitution doesn’t care. A state could adopt a parliamentary system if they so choose. They could have an executive council instead of a governor or they could even have no head executive office. There is also no reason why a governor has to be called a governor. If a state wanted to, they could be called a president, chancellor, premier, or whatever they want really.
@@IllustratetoEducate oh yes the vampyers, witches and pangas party was formed by a guy named Jonathan Sharkey but he ran as a Republican in 2012. It would be interesting to learn more this party and it’s background.
That would be up to the governor. Usually it is very unpopular for a governor to replace a senator with someone from the opposite party. So it’s likely that the GOP governor would choose a Democrat to avoid public backlash. However the GOP governor could just as easily choose a Republican to replace the Democrat senator until the next election.
Good stuff!
Thanks Davis!

Fun fact: states determine their own governments, but the US Constitution guarantees that all states will have a republican form of government.
So interesting! Where are you when I’m writing my scripts? Haha but seriously.
