KG, good take on Rasmus Hojlund vis a vis Evan Ferguson. The fan base needs to cut the kid some slack and give him ample time to grow into the striker role.

@@theo.h96 yes the class of 92 were players with world class potential, who had unbelievable work ethic. They grew into world class players, they didn’t just pop unto the scene as world beaters. Also don’t forget they had an amazing environment to grow and develop in not this current situation that’s at Utd. Also I am not saying that these lot are the same as the class of 92’, I’m just pointing out that you have the benefit of hindsight, at the time all the “experts” were saying it couldn’t be done with those kids. Same way all the experts in 88, and 89 said SAF has no clue. This is not to excuse the foolishness of young kids on the fields but I think our fans have the problem of making judgements too early. Same with Ronaldo, as a young lad we berated him when he was shooting from stupid angles and doing pointless stepovers. And that was in a prime United side. Mainoo, garnacho, Hojlund could become world class one day but we won’t know until then so stop making a final judgement on them now because they are all still prospects. We should be more focused on creating the environment for them to flourish, not to dump unrealistic expectations on children. (Edit I realize you said they were around world class leaders, and I wholeheartedly agree, that’s part of the point I’m making, we’re judging our young players forgetting that they are diamonds in the roughest of rough environments at Utd today).

Crazy take he’s literally taken only 35 shots this season and has a higher goal conversion rate than nunes and Jackson who’ve had more chances in their last games than Rasmus has had in the past 5-6 games

Also, Nunes is a pretty low bar - I don't think being above him on chance conversion is a strong case for Rasmus being a good striker. Lastly, I forgot to mention he seems to have atrocious attack positioning as well.

I'm not a player FC, but I've watched that kid since he was in the academy, and the treatment he has received is a disgrace. He has been called every name under the sun. Where is the "let's get behind our players and support them when they're going through a bad patch"? Footballers are human; we don't know what is going on in their personal lives that may be affecting them mentally, which has a negative impact on their ability to perform at the level we know they can.
