i remember this so vividly.. it felt like a challenger team against bronze teams back then... none, and i mean none will ever be this close to the greatest team that ever was.. Samsung White!
Its actually crazy just how many talent was on 2013/2014 OGN. So many of the players from that era are currently coaches or analysts for major region teams
yeah thats actually crazy how insane the teams were back in the days, imagine all these players would come out now with all the league knowledge we have with all the technics we have right now. Imagine a battle of the gods
2014 Samsung White and 2015 SKT are definitely the two best teams League has even seen. 2014 SSW had an insane roster where every player could make you cry and 2015 SKT was textbook perfect.
why does ssg 2017 come so short? i agree ssw was something else, they revolutionized the game. i mean yeah 2017 the ardent meta sucked hard, but ssg playef every game almost to perfection. the only knockout game they dropped was to WE‘s chaotic teamfighting. thats what u could see in the finals, 2 of 3 games they lost early game completely but won due to perfect macro, it was outstanding. Best quote 2017 from perkz, you celebrated in teampractice against ssg if you killed someone.
I´d argue 2013 summer to winter skt is a close second, since they actually did what white never could they won ogn, they won champions summer, regionals, worlds and went undefeated in ogn winter vs all of these guys najin, cj, mvp, etc then piglet started to int and they didn´t even make worlds gg... 3rd place would go to 2018 IG
Love your content bro, I was recently thinking about where many of ex SKT/T1 players have scattered scross LCK and other leagues e.g Marin (Former TL Head Coach), Peanut (GENG Jungler), even like Berserker and Winsome being T1 Rookies. I think you could be an awesome vid/series. Anyway keep it up your contents great
i think it's mostly because if you look at the players ambition they don't want to just achieve something but they want to make a legacy for themselves, in the past days during fakers prime they were all living under fakers shadow or even bengis. The now iteration of T1's roster is so stacked that all of the players can match or even better than faker atm. Like Keria is undoubtedly unanimously the best player in some peoples mind, some say oner or gumayushi. They have become extremely dominant but known to choke finals like LCK twice and Worlds but yeah i feel like the other previous players always had to prove something but now the players are actually the best of the best so yeah
Now that T1 won again, dropping only 2 games across the whole of Swiss snd Knockouts, I wonder what your opinion is on where this team stacks up in best Worlds performances
T1 dropping 2 games was different from SSW dropping 2. The first game SSW lost they were troll af. Second game they lost was a slow back and forth 40 mins close game. SSW had an average winning game time of 28mins. For T1, they lost hard to Gen G in 29 mins and okay-ish to JDG. In the games they won the average time was also 28 mins. But you have to take into account that the meta was wayyy slower back in S4. The average game time during S4 worlds was 36 minutes, while the average is 31 minutes this year. Quite the difference actually. The fact that SSW pulled off the same average time as T1 did this year speaks volumes. SSW was known for playing with their food as well, they go for unnecessary plays just for fun, this prolongs the games. This never back fired on them either, making the wins feel that much more effortless. This year it can almost feel like if T1 weren't as careful, JDG could've won. With SSW you never get that feeling.
@carmacksanderson3937 It was honestly just such a different feeling between SSW and T1. You watched T1 and you hoped they would win because of the orgs and Fakers legacy. You watched SSW and it never felt like they wouldn't win. They were clearly head and shoulders above and just going through the motions to collect their trophy. Track down an ssw highlight reel and realize that it was every game. Watching them felt like nonstop highlights.
@@carmacksanderson3937 You really missed out. MVP Ozone/Samsung White played with style. It's not the League everyone else plays, like, "WE GOTTA PLAY META," they were stomping while playing for fun, it was amazing showmanship. Yes, this often led to them losing, but this is also what made their games entertaining. It's a shame teams don't and can't do this any more.
i would disagree already that blue was the favorites not white, white beated everyone else but blue was their weakpoint, but blue was not unbeateable, teams like t1 could beat them
greatest team to do what? lose 2 games in worlds? that's bullshit. i've been following league since the very beginning and didn't even know this team existed. 4.9k viewers for 3months, yeah best team indeed.
Most dominant worlds run there was. You not knowing them proves nothing, no one watched fnatic season 1 as well neither do many people know Taipei Assassins from Thailand won it in season 2. The only worlds run that comes close is the one that skt went 16-1 but they didn’t have as many dominant games as ssw did in 2014

No mention of the generals jacket after the SSB/SSW match? Missed opportunity.

OGN was top tier esports production as well. I miss them
It's more crazy how dead the game is now. The proscene is a shell of itself.

I miss the worlds finals in football stadiums, flags waving, huge venues.
damn this was 2014? I thought it was like 2019 lmao,

That's a fantastic idea! I will note that down for a future video/series for sure.

Have you watched the SSW games? Cuz I think the answer is kinda obvious?
Well to me at least.
SSW's run was more of a stomp than T1's this year.
T1 dropping 2 games was different from SSW dropping 2.

@@frankhungtw Sounds fair to me! I had never watched SSW's games, so it's good to have all this context on the game state in 2014. Thank you

Good stuff man. These videos are getting more fire every time.

By the eye test jdg is the best we have ever seen. Until worlds

I like your videos but clearly SSW are not the best team ever. (Not even close im my opinion)
I appreciate the fact that you can still enjoy them while disagreeing. Who's the best team, in your opinion?
greatest team to do what? lose 2 games in worlds? that's bullshit. i've been following league since the very beginning and didn't even know this team existed. 4.9k viewers for 3months, yeah best team indeed.
it's universally agreed that they were the best world champions
