In this installment of the How Good Were They Really series, we look at one of the most beloved players and personalities in League history, Huni.
it was Huni + Reignover. not just Huni. that's how it worked.
reignover is the goat for playing tank junglers
Reignover was the reason Huni was being flamed for playing carry tops in IMT. It wasn't him not being able to play tanks, it was Reignover being absolute garbage at carry junglers. No idea how people to this day outright ignore that. Good for him SKT saw it.
OT: RO had 1,5 good splits with shades of gameover. He even threw game 1 against KOO, makes you wonder how would that series look if he didn't.
It was Huni + Reignover + Febiven. Not just Huni + Reignover. That's how it worked.
huni made me fall in love with competitive league
His first 3 seasons were some of the most fun top lane performances in pro play ever

interesting timing , Huni just finished his World first Race in Lost ark for the Hardest Raid ever released to the Game , They got 1st with a Huge Lead.

I'm Huni Fan since his fnc yr till tsm. He's the reason why i play league and a solo lane role. He's one of the best top laner for me. And MaRin also.
You forgot to mention that during 2016 it was sunfire + gauntlet meta in top lane. But Huni said F that and carried hard! Great video though! Always love to hear about Holoholoholo boy

SKT vs RNG in Worlds 2017 Semis was his Last Peak and after that Defeat in Finals until his retire was not the same Huni we love it's just SAD... 💔

Huni being a hard carry top laner was so ortodox at the time speciely in fnc. Teams struggled to understand how to play against him in a meta where top laners played simple team fighters and tanks having a front line role. Other teams either played around mid or bot since its wests most dominant role, speciely adc. Huni managed to be successfull in fnc and skt. His journey in tsm slowly ruining him as huni seemed very demotivated and less serious. Tsm was a team that struggled to make hunis role work. And understand, euw and korea have good learning enviourments, high motivated mindset and a challenging soloq to train in. Na has none of that, and that missing postive enviourment sadly dragged him down. That said even at his worse in na he still dragged his team to the finish line.

Tbf i think its low to say that his "legacy was being marred" just cause he claimed a check on NA teams. Footballers have been doing this for years after their prime.

huni left fnc and they were awful the next year top side, huni left skt and they were awful the next year top side. also u cant pretend 2020 tsm wasnt dragged to finish line by huni so many of those games

2015 fnc through away at leas one game against KOO they looked nervous unconcentrated and thats something you shouldnt be into a korean team. Hindsight I personally think they could have make it against KOO but never against 2015 SKT.
2021 TSM would've won a split or two if they had any other ADC than Lost

It's a wonder as to even though he's been part of most league's history, many still doubt him.
e.g. he's part of the greatest comebacks at worlds, that 18-0 in EU is not easy to do etc.

.Huni is a carry top player. That means he needs his team to play around him to succeed. The meta has changed for a long time now. It's just jungle and adc carry most the time. Been like that for years. So the team invest on bot side. Meaning he can't carry
