1:08: Can't help but wonder if this might be what Sadlers wreck at Pocono looked like. Seems like the same exact angle and we know he did get airborne.
@@supertornadogun1690 Hasn't been for a while, but that's definitely because of the _cars'_ safety features, not the track's. Having a tight choke point such as the Esses where there's very little room to maneuver in case of an accident is dangerous no matter what kind of car you're in.
Have to love "The Glen!" Almost always a sold out race, rightfully so. I am a bit bias, I live 20 minutes from the track and go every year. Wish they would bring some more series back, like IndyCar. Very happy they still continue to host IMSA races, 6-hour endurance race as well as the 2-hour sprint race. Thank you for doing this @NFJJ!
One thing I realize watching that wreck over and over again the Watkins Glen one with David Reagan and David ruderman Michael Walter racing may have been crap at a few things but one thing that they were really good at is they built some safe race cars between that and Texas damn
It's high speed, narrow, and with heavy braking zones that are frighteningly easy to surprise someone else or make a mistake in. Yes, they have the Inner Loop chicane on the backstretch into T5 now, and they've done a better job about installing SAFER Barriers™ and tire walls at good angles to catch cars, but the sheer lack of room means anyone tapping the wall *will inevitably* bounce off back into traffic. WGI used to host the US Grand Prix, nowadays it's nowhere near Grade 1 specification.
Hi. I have a question. Please answer. Is your monetization feature turned on? Do you make money from car accidents channel? Some people say that it is not possible to earn money because car crashes are inappropriate content
Glen is kinda like a road course version of talladega lol
But..........the Daytona Road Course has banking........and Daytona is literally the sister track of Talladega.
Crashes though, yes.
*meanwhile cota is the road course version of monza oval*
@@testing056 Somebody turn off Kyle Larson's mic please
From 2017-present, not really because the stage racing implementation has really made the races at the Glen mundane.
@@badbooking3221 obviously you missed the point I was talking about how fast it is and the wrecks
What's interesting is that every wreck is unique to its own. The amount of ways to wreck at Wakins Glen are endless 💀

Those sudden stops, not so much.

No, pocono has no tires and Elliott sadler hit the wall nose first.
The other saving grace for Mast was how high his car got off the ground, dissipating some energy along the way.
The result of high speeds and a narrow track surface:
Tell that to Atlanta
@@Kane_Shield5 As much as I don't like the atlanta reconfiguration, its supposed to be just as wide as Daytona.
@@jacobevenson8702 True, the one thing that will be different will be that Atlanta will still be 1.5 miles long and Daytona as the 2.5
@@jacobevenson8702 But I do agree with you
Watkins Glen always produces big crashes. The Talladega of road courses.
None in the last 5 years, however.
Should be taken off the schedule. Place is horridly unsafe.
@@gp75motorsports I'm sorry when was the last time someone was injured there? not saying it couldn't be better but there are worse tracks.

9:13 LMAO The way that wreck happened combined with the commentary was hilariously perfect and I laughed alot more than I probably should have 😂

Only 30 minutes away from the racetrack, one of the Staples of my life!

I’m quite shocked that Geoff Bodine’s crash at Watkins Glen didn’t lead to adding the bus stop before JD McDuffie’s fatal accident happened
1:41 I won’t like I thought he was gonna say ‘This all happened in niNETY GOD DAMN SECONDS’

Watkins Glen at first glance looks like a easy Sunday drive but for some reason always been the most deceptively violent track in NASCAR 💀
4:30 got the David and David show
I'm glad my home racetrack finally gets a highlight reel of these crashes. Been a long time coming.

Thank goodness you didn’t put JD McDuffie’s fatal crash on here.
It’s ugly as hell. Such an unfortunate crash and thankfully they added the bus stop stead of going from the straightaway going into the carousel
8:21 My favorite crash in NASCAR History.

When someone gets sideways in the esses, you know stuff's about to go down.

I hope NASCAR Adding of Boot Long Course at Watkins Glen and I hope Watkins Glen Add Light Racing at Night for NASCAR
Tire barriers are almost always a bad idea imo.

Some are on, some are copyrighted, some have limited ads because of inappropriate content. My advise is to use ones that contain no injuries.

Sounds like NASCAR gave him a pass through penalty because he spun out on purpose to avoid the wreck in front of him
