There they are, combing over the ancient radio programs of the “good ol’ days.” If you consider world war, economic depression, gangsters, and a commie around every corner the good ol’ days. Searching for something they never gonna find. How is a radio program gonna fill the emptiness inside. They need answers, so they come to this UA-cam Channel. And here I am. Tough as nails, and twice as sharp.
My lines are based on the works of Dashiell Hammett, but delivered by yours truly, (oh sure Howard Duff and Steve Dunne actually said the words, but you get my drift.) Before you get to my office with your problems, be it crime, blackmail, theft, or whatever, you gotta get past the legs at the front reception, that’s, Effie Perrine, my secretary. And if you mess with her, I’m the least of your worries, she knock you into next week all by her petite little self, tough guy. You may have heard of a little film called the Maltese Falcon, well that came before this radio series, and I’ve only gotten rougher and meaner, and at times a little funnier, since then. Give a listen, or I’ll introduce your head to the door. What are you afraid of, it’s a good series, lasted 1946-1951.

i love all old radio shows , this is so cool , the storyline for this one is really good , i just wish i could think of some that are equilley as good , im trying to write a book of both horrorr and mystery and i haven"t thought of a good idea for a new story in a while , maybe listening to a few of these will inspire me to write again

Doesn’t Lucille Ball play the secretary? I listened to these (pretty sure were the same) on XM radio like 15 years ago and I remember the radio host introduced it as being from late 1940s and that Lucille Ball played the secretary, that she did this before getting into TV. Sure sounds like her.
Anyway, this is good classic stuff.

Secretary Efie Perine was played by Lurene Tuttle in 245 episodes of the radio series "The Adventures of Sam Spade".
