Love this rescue. It's too bad they're so remote, can't bring in volunteers easily, and the lack of a well limits their growth. 35k to dig a well is HUGE, especially since there's no guarantee it will hit potable water. They need so much to be able to expand, I just don't know how it could be done without a donor with very deep pockets stepping forward. Kudos to them for pulling off a rescue in these conditions as well as they have though. Their dental vet & farrier are true gems! 💙

@@hphs Oh my GOD! Really? That's just...
That seems insurmountable. They live in a desert. I guess it (literally) comes with the territory. That's really a cryin' shame. 😢
It's the same thing Horses of Gili have to face. They have to buy all their water from a desalinization plant, or haul it in from Lombok by boat. Wells on the Gili islands would result in salt water. Very difficult circumstances for a horse rescue to manage, but they're doing it. 💙

I am interested in this rescue for a sideline story----Love of the Hoof transported a black horse (Stormy was the name she wound up with) from HPHS to Arizona, which was then adopted by someone. But, the lady who adopted Stormy wanted her to go for training with young Blake Palmer whose family have a UA-cam channel "Farm On Route 66" (also in Arizona) which I watch! It was fun to learn of the cross-connections. Stormy did get her training---and just recently moved on to her destination home in California.

Wow, what a great story of love, hard work, and passion for horses! Great staff and organization! I really enjoyed how you showcased all of their support experts--amazing skills and knowledge! Featuring a successful adoption story was so touching! I was fascinated by the vet--what a wonderful 'retirement' doing something 'fun'! His chute was a brilliant invention! I wonder if it had a patent? I can't believe that one of the new fancy 'automatic' chute makers (forgot the name) couldn't acquire the rights or redesign that to continue the 'fun' for all sorts of organizations, vets, race tracks, vet schools, etc.? Jason, push that idea around and see if you can get a 'prototype' or for that Dr. work as a consultant to promote that to improve horse dental practices. Just a thought. Anyway, I love everyone's sweet, calm, laid back vibe and spirit at For the Love of the Hoof, which really reflected in the temperament of the horses. Glad to see they are being mentored!

I Ave an added income idea….
You can sell their manure it’s the greatest for gardening flowers and vegetables.
People might have to drive a bit to ‘come and get it’ I just use what I buy at Home Depot in bags. No business sell horse manure . I don’t know any ranchers to get horse manure.
I live in central California so I wouldn’t be a buyer.
I bet there are a lot of people who would like to help your organization and get the horses manure for their or a friends use.
God bless you your family and your horses.
    Glad I saw this video.

I lived in AZ and water hauling is a fact of life. I know people who have spent $150,000.00 to drill and still had no water. It's hard to have livestock because everything in AZ is very expensive. Those big bale's of hay range in price from 15 to 25 bucks a bale. And here on the east coast alfalfa is a premium. Out there alfalfa is the least expensive and grass hay is the premium.

Made a comment about using stocks in regular size horse shoeing for protection of both horse and people. Someone said they don’t make stocks in smaller than draft size. Where are those engineers to build these? This retired vet. Has a stock that is mobile and works. Could this design be modified for shoeing? Any volunteers to help build these for rescues?

I def think that they could benefit with a bigger tank so they don't have to do as many trips to get water.

Id be buying them a fifteen thousand gallon container for water asap. It'd save on fifty miles per week of gas and very quickly pay for itself.

Wow - ok - Wendy - so not only is Magnetar related to a stallion I had, but he has that very similar head shape that seems to go through that line.
I did a little googling and found you a couple of links you might like.... I'd put them in as a picture but YT Doesnt allow it - dang it.
Heres hoping this comes out ok:

So you have Danzig on both sides there on the sires sides .... and Danzig sired some really nice horses. You also have Bold Ruler, Lunchtine a couple of times in there, Biscay, Bletchingly, Star Kingdom, All good for pretty much any discipline, love jumping essentially too, so if Magnator is sound, when it comes to rehoming, you have all that info to pass on if anyones keen on some history with his Aussie racing life. I think he was also in the TB Life after Racing mob too. So they should have been informed he went for a one way holiday to the USA
My TB stallion (not reg with Racing Australia as he had a fetlock injury as a foal apparently leaving him with joint ill, so his owner, who I got him from because he had passed away and it was a clearing sale of all the farm stuff including the stock and horses.... a 53*C day was NOT my idea of fun but did it anyhow cos the poor horse was in pretty poor shape - a couple of people looked at me when I bid up to $400 and said 'have you even looked at him???' and I said YES - my idea was that if I bought him, got him home and assessed him and had to put him down - then it did him a favour. If I bought him and got him home and was able to put weight on him and get him at least paddock sound for a while - then awesome. He had similar bloodlines on the sires side to being by Danzig Connections who was by Danzig. ...
Anyhow - we got my boy home the next day - still blooming that hot, and going into the back verandah under shade felt like air conditioning, and thats what read 53*C We figured it was steak cooking heat outside on the footpath up to the house! lol HORRIBLE
I love your set up guys :D Thanks for showing us around your farm. I soooooooo miss y place and wish I wasnt forced to sell it.

Another impressive video from start to finish! Skillful photography, interesting graphics, crisp editing and nice flow, loads of interesting interactions and sharing. Equals any rescue show I've watched on the major TV networks.
Keep up the great work all you rescuers, ya'll have my utmost admiration! 💕🐴
