- Mont Blanc is western Europe's highest peak at around 15,800. Easily accessible from the mountain valley town of Chamonix, France (and Les Houches or Saint Gervais) this is a very popular mountain. The route starts at Bellevue, goes up past the Nid D'aigle, Tete Rousse, and Gouter huts, and then goes onto snow and glacier. While not very technical, the route does require care, fitness, and experience. There are many deaths on this mountain each year.
