Beyoncé mastered her mix. It’s pure perfection.

i think she mastered her head voice the most though, like more than anyone in the business lol

it's crazy how people mock her excessive use of reverb in tours (which is basically just artistic decision) when even without a microphone, she's able to throw audible notes from the bottom to the top of her range. i really love watching vocals with no microphones and sound enhancements because it shows how they sound naturally

I think a big part of the "in" sound is Black American pronunciation. It is like having a cheat becasue we do it when we speak also. If you look at how I rendered the Lowlands-L translation of "the wren" in AAVE, you notice that the dialect has reduced diphthongs, but on the short i sound it becomes a dipthong of two short vowels and thus neutralizing brashness of the otherwise restricted i (bit/bid) by lowering and backing it into almost a short e. sometime it goes to a long i (ee) to a short e (as in bed) or even a schwa.
I like that you made the opera connection. I struggled back in the day with getting into small ensembles in the chorale or even getting jazz ensembles becuase, thet had issues blending me. I realized at some point that I would have had more opprtunites going to one of the other two public or the one private high schools that had either more black students in the music department or that focused on the individual beacause the private school was with smaller classes. It was not until i went and auditions for a semi-pro production and got the part that my school started giving me opportunities. Though this backfired as they tryied to force me to sing base for small ensembles because as a tenor my sound was too "mature" to blend with the others. They even told me that was why they never sent me for the honors choir audions because they couldn't find a suitable quartet for me. I had the voice of a "35 year old". I told them screw it for the requiem and played with the orchestra since I had solos as first bassoon anyway for the combined concert. LOL
I found out when the group of us who got into the Young Americans were in California, and my ex class mates said that the others used to call me Mr. Opera. and I really came from the Church and my idols were Domingo, And Pavarotti
Fricatives and other unvoiced consonants do cause aspiration because they restrict the airflow and redirect part through the throat and up the nasal passage.
And Beyonce is from yodelland LOL

@@LesageSinging It's all good. At some point I realized that it was just that they didn't know what to do with me. She did a good job of explaining it and helping me not be totally self concious when i was told during my private lesson, I could either doi solo recitals or chorale because I sounded like an adult rather than a high school singer, it was kind of validation.
Also, it was because I was a bass from 9th grade when we finally Went from SAB to SATB, I opted for bass up until 10th grade because the administrators screwed up scheduling and left us with 2 tenors (a 1st and a 2nd) and I was already singing with sopranos, I got to skip over baritone straight to tenor 1 and didn't have to sing in the mid range so much with made me dizzy.
Now I am over 40 and, much more versatile, plus there is my natural vibrato, later teachers told me not to get rid of it. I don't care what people think anymore expecially when they try to fight me about it thinking i am doing it on purpose.

@@kait7404 LOL sorry it was a typo ;-) I meant yodelland as in a part of the country where yodeling can be found. I am also of Southern stock, though I grew up in the North, and I honestly used to practice yodeling as a kid, but stopped so never really got good at it. I was more into classical music.
