I really appreciate how the commentators direct your attention between the players as important moments come up. It makes it easier to follow the action and compare between them.
You all probably dont give a damn but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Mario Gunner Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
ok, this is probably the most entertaining race i've seen at any gdq. no offense to any other racer, but usually they're not as interesting as a single runner because it's difficult to focus on both screens at once, also the commentators usually can only talk about one screen or the other and sometimes a trick is past before you realize it's coming. This one on the other hand was lots of fun, the commentary was both interesting and funny, all the runners on the couch were loads of fun to watch too, i've never actually seen spikevegeta run before, only heard him as an announcer/commentator, didn't know he was such an... enthusiastic runner. lol great job to all the runners and would love to see this sort of thing again
Spike ran Donkey Kong Country Returns way back. I reckon he should run that again at GDQ - there were quite a few mistakes, and the overall presentation of that run was unprofessional in comparison to this run.
If Retro Studios make another DKC game for the Nintendo NX, then I really hope someone asks Eveline Novakovic to join David Wise in the music creation. She's really good as well, and I think the first DKC's soundtrack really benefited from the variety of two composers (and almost all of Eveline's tracks in the first DKC are highlights for the soundtrack).
Lol, I got the Granny Hill trick from Sawmill Thrill on my third try. I can't do dosido though. 99 times out of a hundred, I can't even get the tornado to throw me the right way XD
They knew it. The thing with this game is that a couple of these runners have times around 1:33, 1:34. Their estimate was very tight, and I think that was the idea.
GDQ needs more math for the next one. Every big game likely has a TAS theoretical perfect run so it would be nice to see the difference of each player compared to the TAS they're attempting. Then a casual viewer can see much more easily where the players are relative to each other.
Oh no - two DKC:TFs to focus on at the same time...and at 2.0x speed too (so that I can watch this quicker)......it's too much!!! I feel though that the run should start when both players start mashing the buttons at the beginning of the first level, because otherwise someone can get an advantage due to a quicker load time at the beginning.
That'd be really difficult to coordinate, it's hard enough to do that and time the run properly singly. Every run would have to be retimed were the speedrunning rules changed to start on first input, since it'd be physically impossible to optimize the first input as well as start the clock.

Goldfish is an absolute beast at speedrunning, the guy has no chill whatsoever lol
The snack that claps back
Damn, watched the whole thing. What a spectacular game and run
The4thLaw I agree all the way.
Glad to see this game at another GDQ. It was honestly my GOTY for 2014, and I feel it deserves MUCH more love.
I was thrown off by how well the ties going across the screen were synced up at 28:20
I was thinking the same!
That was beautiful.
27:58 seemed to have the Kongs synced up, only in different animations.
The transition lines up perfectly at 28:21
Donkey Kong Frozen Ape is my favorite installment in the Donkey Kong franchise, and for only $50, wow, what a steal!
11:48 For a little while the left player is exactly one screen behind the right player. It's quite trippy, actually.
man, what a fun looking game
it is! incredibly fun! and challenging.
The new DKC games are both amazing.
"He's going to get to dixie Kong while she is on cycle"
Oh, my.
I see now! :)
10:16 is the start of the run for those who want to skip that sweet intro
Both Enkay and Newby both messed up so badly, lol, Goldfish carried team Canada, just like Kruncha basically carried team USA, lol
this run was crazy. goldfish was easily my favorite runner, dudes a beast. im glad he won the game for his team
Good to know they had as much trouble with Forest Folly as I had when first running it.
10:14 without presentation
7:42 with presentation
Antoine Lanthier ij
Awesome race, awesome commentary!
27:58 Looks like the tie goes all the way across.
Poor Rambi, getting Yoshi-jumped all the time...
They re-upload videos so they can fix audio, put the start times, etc.
Amazing run. Everyone did fantastic.
In the game itself those rock formations made my skin crawl >_
This game takes some serious skill to speed run! Think I’m going to start speed running this.
Look at the Kongs on the loading screen at 48:33
lol dat sync
This run was really fun to watch !
Amazing run, great runners and commentators

28:19 the tie goes ob to both screens
Goldfish is my hero!
What a great race! Kudos to both teams! :D
At the beginning, it feels like both screens make a large panoramic view O_O
Run starts at 10:14
This was great !!
57:24 i never knew about this. i’m glad it’s on one of my least favorite levels in the game
woooow they are good
this game is intense
I like the race of donkey KONG country tropical FREZZE
CG! Coconut Gun!
0:09 if you take a look to the right, you see raffle prizes. If you take a look to the left, you see a girl wearing stripes on drugs
10:13
i didn't no you can skip on water in this game i no you can do that in donkey Kong country 3 wow that's awesome
Nice to see even the pros can die on World 2.
27:56
PERFECT TRANSITION
He is smart man
Race starts at 10:15
Lol, I got the Granny Hill trick from Sawmill Thrill on my third try.
I can't do dosido though. 99 times out of a hundred, I can't even get the tornado to throw me the right way XD
28:22 you couldn't do that again with the tie if you tried all day!
6 or more seconds and they would have went over the expected time

1:07:25
Also, DAMN, that estimate was dead on.
Jesus christ goldfish crushed world 6 so fucking hard
Micheal is a god. Also he sucks at splatoon. Get good get kraken.
