Well, I got a "pro" painter and he showed me pics of his past jobs. I hired him, gave him 1500 dollar deposit and he vanished on me. I went to the police station with all of the guys ID info and they blew me off. About 1 month later I seen him (painter) outside of the Wal-Mart. I had no choice but to lay hand on this man. I got arrested because of it. I asked for help to get my cash back and the police acted like it wasn't nothing. I paid a fine but it was a fine I was happy to pay for beating him down in front of his wife and kids. I let them know that he was a scumbag and stole from my family.
Your story doesn't check out. You don't "pay a fine" for "beating someone down". Also, you handed him money, he didn't break in and steal it. That makes it a civil matter so take his ass to court. Now you have a criminal record and he has your money. He wins.
Actually is does check out. I lived it so I should know. I was charged (we both were actually) with disorderly conduct and in Pennsylvania you either pay a fine from $25 and up to $1500 or up to 90 days in jail. In my case I paid a $600 fine and so did he. To me it's not about the money it's about not letting anyone fuck you over. As far as the money he stole, yes it is a civil matter which I later went and filed the proper paperwork and and the ruling was in my favor, now he owes me the money legally. So correction to your comment sir, I won.
Well done. I hope you gave this man a proper ass whoop, next time try not to go to jail, that would suck. Instead pre plan your assault and not leave any incriminating evidence such as address, name, type of weapon etc...
All About Boxing he paid the fine with your money. Next time check for a license and references and don't hire the cheapest guy that shows up in a shitty minivan or camry.
cheapest bid? Hmmm...and you know this how? That's the dumbest comment I've ever heard. You do realize that in any bid situation, most of the time there is a high, low, and maybe middle or the road price? Guys and companies that have been around for years and years beat out higher bids (they also do win jobs by being the high bidder). I've done work and been the low bid in a room full of very very experience top notch contractors. I've been in other bids with the same group and guess what I was the high bid, and one of those guys was the low bidder. So, blanket statements like that really should be thought out better. No one deserves hatred like you posted. Best highest paid contractor can drop a paint can, scratch something etc. I've been low bidder won, and had someone damage a persons lawn, (we told him right away) guess what we fixed it to the satisfaction of the customer, and yes it cost me margin, but you know what we did more work for the customer
elchucofried LOL I’d be happy to compare bank accounts and investment portfolios.. You are right I don’t have a house, I have a few. And I never look for cheap work done..
elchucofried HAHA, poor people always look for an excuse.. just cuz your not successful in life doesn’t mean everyone is too or has a hand out from parents/family.. if you even had the closest thing to a somewhat good paying job you would understand it’s easy to get rich. But you must work some shit job with out a diploma and/or degree.
Society has degraded and looked down on manual labor for so long now. Kids who could start learning a skill and become professionals go on to waste their time and get into the work force late in their life, when their brain is burnt. That, and welfare, which allows for laziness to propagate. Solutions: Learn to live simple, learn to do it yourself, or be very careful when looking for help. In that order.
you have never been on a job have you? I have worked many years as a union carpenter and its very rare to run into a smart painter or roofer because if they are smart they pay some felon peanuts to do the work while they bid 1000s
This is exactly why I do my own painting. I only contract out work that I absolutely cannot do myself. Even when I hired a painter to do a stairwell that required being up on a high ladder, the quality of the work was not nearly as good as mine. If you can find a reliable contractor who does quality work, hang in to them. They are worth their weight in gold!
I'm a residential painting contractor and despite hgtv making painting seem like a project your average homeowner can accomplish. 9/10 times they cannot. The 1 out of 10 who can actually hold a brush properly may be able to get the job done.. But even so, the quality of finish is not near that of a professional. Guys, higher a quality trusted and reviewed painting company or individual. The results are worth the money.
Yep fully agree with my fellow painter and decorators below! Even homeowners that think they’ve done a good job have not a shed of an idea what a professional finish looks like ! My older neighbour wanted to show me how good her paint job was and how she used all the best quality paints etc… she used a 22mm nap roller to “gloss” all her doors… she was convinced they looked marvellous when in fact they looked and felt like a rendered wall 😂 every wall had tiger stripes, the ceiling had misses all through it and this list goes on! Point being you cannot have a professional standard of painting if you don’t do it everyday that’s just not possible ! It takes years of perfecting a tradesmens skills and eye to be able to have that professional finish and to understand the process of what to use on what and what to do and when. You’ve clearly never had a professional painter work on your property or you just have a terrible eye for detail and think you know better than a real tradesmen 🤷♂️ I literally make money from you “I can do that” homeowners! With the constant influx of diy jobs we need to fix up year round ! 😂 we do a 4 year apprenticeship and go to trade school for a reason mate
Man the Mexicans will paint the walls fix the carpet and do the roof. All for 200 bux. I love mexican ppl. They Dont fuck around cause they got too much to lose. Plus theyre humble.
Hype Tempo that's low income people in Mexico. there are a lot of nice homes in Mexico that they don't show you on TV. But in the US Mexicans really do the best work and way faster. Anybody who says otherwise is in denial, I've had white costumers of mine tell me from their own mouths that they won't hire other white people to do jobs for them because their experiences with Mexicans are way better and a little bit cheaper
I always pay contractors in 3 payments. if you do shitty work you're fired and not getting the other 2 payments. simple as that. Only naive home owners pay in lump some.
Jesse Fritz I agree. I know some people who pay thousands of dollars to contractors MONTHS before they even begin working! Some people are idiots and deserve to loose their money.
I've known some people that pay WAY too much for work done and pay in full before the job is complete and it never gets finished. I think if you're a contractor and you do this to someone whom has paid you in full, you should be strung up by your balls. there's no reason for it!
Jorgie Vencez this is typical payment system for contractors. you ever heard of Holmes on Homes. Badass general contractor! he has even said DO NOT PAY IN FULL!!! Anyone who does is a dumb ass. are you a contractor or have you ever done contractor type work it have you ever hired a contractor??? if you haven't... you really have no business posting on here whatsoever!!! read the previous comments... LOL! it's not just my thought... many others agree.
dude, clearly they didn't clean ANYTHING with paint on it. Including all that rim. And leaving chew cups full of spit around? Gimme a f'in break. Clearly, you aren't a competent tradesman. lol
This isn't that bad I knew this friend of a friend who paid the dude 9k to paint her house.. which I thought was ridiculous in the first place.. but then he ended up getting more money out of her and not finishing the job.. and on top of it all once she fired him he came back and broke into the house and burglarized it
Mike Hawk please forgive me but sometimes people like that deserve it. I know it sounds harsh to say it like that but sometimes someone could just be asking for it
Dude was totally in the wrong on this but one thing is just because someone has felonys doesn't mean they can't work or aren't a good worker this guy had pretty recent felonys so that seemed kinda sus But unless you want a felon to keep committing felonies they gotta work a legit job
Here's a good idea whenever anyone does any work on your home asked for a certificate of insurance that shows current dates. And if something goes wrong you have his insurance company and you file a claim on your own. If the contractor doesn't give you a certificate of insurance don't do business with that person. Help yourself to protect yourself.
She was cheap and hired cheap painters. You get what you pay for. I've been in business for over 25yrs painting. Charge a premium price but we're insured as well offer references. When we do the job, all areas are covered in blankets and tarps as well we use 5mm plastic on the carpets. If it's a whole house we'll spend a day just in prep work.
Like they say, when you go with a service that's lower cost, which I could bet was the case here, this is what you get. She'll win in court, but look at the aggravation she's had and will have to endure. Penny wise, pound foolish. These crooks don't pay-up right away because they're hoping you'll tire out and just make the fix yourself. That's what's called "business" and yes, it sucks.
I seen 5 gallons of white paint fall from a 4 buck high scaffold in JC pennys in Bham Al...Dry cleaners were busy...This seems weak..Id ripped the carpet up off the stairs and called in carpet man..Are get a kicker and razor knife hand tool..I wouldnt left that...But thats my story.. Roll Tide
What a joke that reporter is, I know if you do more than 5000.00 a year in business you need to be licensed so the State can get more money, now she told everyone to ask for pictures, now I never did a treehouse but give me 5 minutes and I can show a 100 treehouses I did.Bottom line put the electronics away away and take the time your looking at pictures and call the person he gave as a reference. Now the time to use a computer is to look up the telephone number and see if they have the same last name or better yet come look at the work in person. Why do people spend o much time looking into large screen TV's and and surround sound then the person there using and letting into there home alone as they head out to work. A side note the State I'm licensed in wants 2 things a 50.00 check and liability ins number just like you do each year to register your car. Now the State 'm in the Attorney Generals office handles contractor licenses but guess wha are A in now in prison for breaking law she is to enforce so bottom line folks no one is going to watch your ass like you will.
you get what you pay for...always remember that. I'm a painter. I'm a very good painter. I charge for a very professional job and stuff like that just doesn't happen. and if it did, id repair it instantly.
This stuff happens when you find some guy on the cheap.... Instead of hiring a professional with multiple references (You're telling me that among your school PTA, church, neighbors, local family and friends, not one could refer you to a reputable painter?). Instead, she probably answered a Craigslist ad (He's half the price of all the others! Well, no kidding)...
heard a story where the painter knocked over a can, thought for a minute grabbed the homeowners little dog & put some paint on it then yelled out ' oh shit! ' the homeowner then running into the room apologizing thinking the dog made the mess.
Look lady look like he did a lot of job! He had a job accident ...we all do... Look like he painted most of the house and that is more than $1500 with the money you save not paying the rest of the house compleining for the carpet $1000 carpet? And what was the total amount of the house? $3000? Usely they ask 30% or 50% of the cost front!!! So looks to me you did more profit than scam!!!
He made a mess didn't fix it, the lady look that offer which the painter is responsible for. He didn't finish. Bottom corners not done. They agreed on the cost regardless of what anyone else thinks she should payed.
Here in Florida, there are no regulations for painting. The DBPR here does not require any such licensing to contract painting jobs commercially or residentially and most county's don't regulate it either. You're right about insurance though. Verify that the company or individual who will be carrying 5 gallon buckets of potentially destructive material into your most valuable asset has proper insurance to protect you against damages!
I'm a general contractor and I usually tell my customers not to pay me until is done. And please hire someone that is going to be actually working there and not just leaving people working there. Never pay upfront. I'm sorry but a subcontractor must have all the financial needs for the labor and project with out needing any money upfront. If they don't then don't hire them easy as that. And sign an official contract before starting any work keeping records of every single receipt.
To be honest, I don't even know why this made the news. However, accidents do happen and things like this happen way more than what people. Yes, the people that did the make the mess should've taken responsibility by cleaning up the mess the best they could and cleaned up their own trash. I work for a building contractor and we've had a work accident like that happen before, but me made sure the mess was cleaned up afterwards.

I don't know what she is complaining about. In the modern art world, that is a masterpiece once you add the dip and spit cups onto that teal splash. Put a velvet rope in front of the staircase, directional lighting, a fancy burled walnut placard with an audio tour and charge admission.
That's what happens when you go with the cheapest price, it's funny how people think there getting a bargain and they have this vision of there house looking like a picture out of a magazine, and then reality hits the contractor bails and there left standing in disbelief, the moral of the story is don't ever go with the cheapest bid!
its what you get for paying A) 1100$ for someone to paint your walls (something you can do in 2-3 hours for less than $250) B) picking that god awful wall color. C) leaving your house while a contractor and his team are there to do a job. frankly...green carpet stairs is what she deserves.
That's why I always put my best into my work. I'm a painter with over 30 years experience in the trade, and it's truly sad that contractors, (at least a good handful), don't take any pride in their work. I hate to say it but, in today's world, you're better off doing it yourself, rather than paying a company, or an independent contractor to do the job for you. Stay blessed, and enjoy yourself! ~Joe ✌😎
How are this guy's convictions relevant to spilling a can of paint by accident? The thumbnail on the video makes out he got arrested for doing a bad paint job.

Good to hear. Good luck to you.
Why the hell is this news
zed 502 white people stuff
lmao..20$ repair
fb chopped'up mexikann 200$. But he should come back. Buy new carpet.
fb chopped'up mexikann A can of off-white paint will spruce that carpet right up.
fb chopped'up mexikann plus 2 hour labor gas and materials lol. not looking too much like 20$ anymore is it 😂
fb chopped'up mexikann ,THAT IS not a big deal, amazing what makes the news
ya cuz I'm sure she knows so much about installing new carpet in her own
dam must of been slow news night. breaking news man spills paint on carpet!!
in other news. a bucket of paint was spilled in somebodys home! this women is very brave.
Ahah SO BRAVE ! hahahah
I know.
Who tf leaves their house when only the painters are gonna be there you're just asking to get robbed
Daniel Cortez bcause in some cases its pretty annoying for both the workers nd the homeowners to b there
This is actually pretty normal
Jesus Christ America must be a shithole if you can’t trust a tradesman in your home.
Daniel Cortez idk it depends if she had cameras or asked a neighbor to look over
Why didn't they just paint their house themselves?
Single mothers dont work lol wat a silly thought
I think if you use your little brain to think for a few seconds you might find the answer.
Because they're white middle-class homeowners.
Lazy bums
DabRanger some people work and have money to pay for services such as painting. We all don't have the luxury of time to paint our own house.
Lol I'm so chill I'd leave the stairs looking like that. Be a great story for any guests who come over. 😂
FaeriichanII
He'll yea and then just get my friend or uncle to fix the carpet..lol
SHE DESERVED IT... Home owners always look for the Cheapest BID rather then quality work...lol
cheapest bid?
Josh M says someone who doesn't own a house😂😂 I guess you wouldn't understand
elchucofried LOL I’d be happy to compare bank accounts and investment portfolios.. You are right I don’t have a house, I have a few. And I never look for cheap work done..
Josh M it doesn't count if its mommy and daddys bum stop fooling yourself.
elchucofried HAHA, poor people always look for an excuse.. just cuz your not successful in life doesn’t mean everyone is too or has a hand out from parents/family.. if you even had the closest thing to a somewhat good paying job you would understand it’s easy to get rich. But you must work some shit job with out a diploma and/or degree.
LOL finding a painter without felony's is like trying to find a tree guy who does not have someone on his crew smoking meth
golden
...or a UA-cam commenter with any knowledge of the world...
In that order.
chris ...said the moron with no life experience...
you have never been on a job have you? I have worked many years as a union carpenter and its very rare to run into a smart painter or roofer because if they are smart they pay some felon peanuts to do the work while they bid 1000s
The title and thumbnail made me think that the painter slipped and died
This is exactly why I do my own painting. I only contract out work that I absolutely cannot do myself. Even when I hired a painter to do a stairwell that required being up on a high ladder, the quality of the work was not nearly as good as mine. If you can find a reliable contractor who does quality work, hang in to them. They are worth their weight in gold!
Maybe you need to change career
I'm a residential painting contractor and despite hgtv making painting seem like a project your average homeowner can accomplish. 9/10 times they cannot. The 1 out of 10 who can actually hold a brush properly may be able to get the job done.. But even so, the quality of finish is not near that of a professional. Guys, higher a quality trusted and reviewed painting company or individual. The results are worth the money.
@@jimeneazy5999 Ive had to come in and fix a lot of do it yourselfers work painting.
I really don't understand how people don't know how to paint... its paint dude.. dip your dick in the can and spank it on the wall.. how hard is that.
😂 we do a 4 year apprenticeship and go to trade school for a reason mate
its a conversation starter for Christmas for sure
Man the Mexicans will paint the walls fix the carpet and do the roof. All for 200 bux. I love mexican ppl. They Dont fuck around cause they got too much to lose. Plus theyre humble.
battlecat. But their work is not to code and shitty
funny how mexican houses fall apart in mexico and look like shit
battlecat they got nothing to lose that’s why it’s 200bux
Hype Tempo wrong. Mud houses last longer than wood frame. My grandparents have a 100 plus years mud house and still super strong.
"He seemed like he knew what he was doing...he knew his colors.’
It doesn't look bad! It's a conversation piece.
Jesse Fritz-you are right. Three installments. Down payment, middle of the job, and final payment after you have ok'd the work.
I've known some people that pay WAY too much for work done and pay in full before the job is complete and it never gets finished. I think if you're a contractor and you do this to someone whom has paid you in full, you should be strung up by your balls. there's no reason for it!
If you are paying cash you don't give jack shit until job completed except maybe a deposit (sure a hell not a 1100$ deposit.)
A woman is taking a dude to court because he spilt paint over her carpet by accident?
I am dying 😂😂😂
dude, clearly they didn't clean ANYTHING with paint on it. Including all that rim. And leaving chew cups full of spit around? Gimme a f'in break. Clearly, you aren't a competent tradesman. lol
people like this just make construction look so sloppy and disgusting be organized and professional .
JustinTime painting isn't construction it's for pussies, when they retire they can paint faces
I don't know why but I lmao when they said he was convicted of grand theft and stopped returning their phone calls. Ha!!
This isn't that bad I knew this friend of a friend who paid the dude 9k to paint her house.. which I thought was ridiculous in the first place.. but then he ended up getting more money out of her and not finishing the job.. and on top of it all once she fired him he came back and broke into the house and burglarized it
southsidesman that's what I said! I thought the entire situation was fucked from the get go
Holy fuck I'd paint a house for 9k allllll day long lmao
majority of private contractors are scumbags that can't get real jobs. So they have no problem stealing from people
Mike Hawk please forgive me but sometimes people like that deserve it. I know it sounds harsh to say it like that but sometimes someone could just be asking for it
southsidesman unless the House was huge then she’s an idiot. A 3 family house paint job is like 5k... sometimes people are begging to get screwed
When you lied on your resume.
Dude was totally in the wrong on this but one thing is just because someone has felonys doesn't mean they can't work or aren't a good worker this guy had pretty recent felonys so that seemed kinda sus But unless you want a felon to keep committing felonies they gotta work a legit job
This was news worthy?
not possible for how they described it. there would be paint all over the walls, railing and floor of whatever room is on the raining side
jay Tarantula you are right.
Should have been a lot bigger mess.wish that was my only problem.
Omfg just replace the nasty carpet that needed replaced anyways...which I'm sure was already in the plans anyways. Get a damn life smh
When a "Painter" shows up to brush and roll your job with TAPE to mask everything up, it's time to bail! 😆
That's what she gets for not hiring the paisas
Best4rm TheWest The Paisas will fix it for 40 dollars and include a free yard cleanup😂
Riley McCord hell..just bust out the 6pack n they'll do for free. And better than a guy who charges 10,000
OchoaPrideMex4Life , just put some bad ass corridos in the radio and 12 pack of modelo, burritos de carne asada y ese ese jale ya esta!
Even better, make then some ceviche shrimp 🦐 with beer and they will be smiling all day
She was cheap and hired cheap painters.
Kevin Licence longest coment I’ve ever seen
A good carpet guy could fix that mess for 4 or 5 hundred
you get what you pay for...always remember that.
It's modern art !
heard a story where the painter knocked over a can, thought for a minute grabbed the homeowners little dog & put some paint on it then yelled out ' oh shit! ' the homeowner then running into the room apologizing thinking the dog made the mess.
😂
That's crazy. That could have definitely been cleaned up.
She walked into the house and saw green paint on her stairs and immediately thought oh shit Thanksgiving and Christmas are ruined. Makes sense
Why are you leaving strangers in your house anyway
blonmde
not the smartest people I guess
ABC ACTION NEWS "Breaking news this lunch time, we have unconfirmed reports of spilled paint, stay with us for the latest!"
NEXT TIME CALL CRUZPAINTING THE BEST PAINTER IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON 😀
That color goes well with the carpet tbh idk why they just splash more on the rest
You need to make sure the painter is licensed, and fully insured. This is what insurance is for. Why are people hiring uninsured contractrs?
Here in Florida, there are no regulations for painting. The DBPR here does not require any such licensing to contract painting jobs commercially or residentially and most county's don't regulate it either. You're right about insurance though. Verify that the company or individual who will be carrying 5 gallon buckets of potentially destructive material into your most valuable asset has proper insurance to protect you against damages!
Pull up the carpet and repaint the areas around the stairs - problem solved. Also never, ever hire this loon again.
He looks like Bertram from Jesse 😂
i do not feel sorry for you ,it seems you are a feel sorry for me sort of person
You should've gotten a Mexican señora
Meow Mixer i think you don't what he is trying to say
To be honest, I don't even know why this made the news. However, accidents do happen and things like this happen way more than what people. Yes, the people that did the make the mess should've taken responsibility by cleaning up the mess the best they could and cleaned up their own trash. I work for a building contractor and we've had a work accident like that happen before, but me made sure the mess was cleaned up afterwards.
Nothing else to report on and they had to fill 2 minutes of time.
Next time hire Mexicans...
"Before you know it, the Renaissance will be here and we'll all be painting."
omg so tragic
my prayers go to the family
My dad paints our own walls
This is why I'm a do it yourselfer.. thanks I'll paint my own walls.
donttreadonme2 sweetheart if I had the time I would paint your walls lol.
Billy Hill it's sad when grown men need to go on UA-cam and insult woman on their choice in their child's name. Your so pathetic you had nothing better to do with yourself besides try to insult me. Which you did not succeed at doing.
Billy Hill go paint some walls and mind your business.
Billy Hill oh boy. Your going to make me cry. Boo hoo hoo.
Izzys Mom Tattoos Why would you bring up the fact that your a women? Does it matter? Hell no
HOLY SHIT paint was spilled on 3 stairs?? Dont WORRY nobody panick! im on my way right now to go home and play video games!
If you hired some Latinos to do it , that would’ve NEVER happened , real shit.
Woman: (calls cops) "umm a guy spilled paint on my stairs!"😫😡
Cops: "OMG Alert the Media"😒
Woman: "Okay Thanks!"🤗
hires some random guy from craigslist, he does good the first day, but he comes back and spills paint. happens to make front page news for a week straight....
This makes me sick. I work my ass off for 10 an hour and I would love to have a job like this. My work would speak for itself.
HOLD THE PRESS, WE HAVE GOT A PAINT SPILL!
its what you get for paying
A) 1100$ for someone to paint your walls (something you can do in 2-3 hours for less than $250)
B) picking that god awful wall color.
C) leaving your house while a contractor and his team are there to do a job.
frankly...green carpet stairs is what she deserves.
This is how it looks when I paint my house high on pcp.
I painted my bedroom for the first time this year and I coulda done a better job! You have to care for someone’s home the way you’d care for your own
That's why I always put my best into my work.
Who in the frigging hell has an amusement park style basketball game at home ?
you never hear the media talk about bad customers as a 22 year old carpenter I have had some jobs where people owed me thousands and never paid !! it annoys me to see the media always showing the bad side of trades. There is never anything positive
Preach it bro 😂 almost settles the down payment debate. I’ve never had a personal experience like this but I’ve seen Multiple customers do this on house builds
Seems like the contractor wanted to fix it but the homeowner looks like one of those that just simply didn't want him back in the house and just blew it up for news attention
b!tch thats why
Red flag:no contractor helps pick out preferred materials. Our jobs are to apply the material and color that YOU pick. That way if you hate the look when it's done its not on me...my job is to tell you that it's the greatest color/style we've ever seen and to compliment you on your impeccable taste.😉😜.If you get involved picking colors/Sheen's/tile size/countertop material...etc....you are asking for trouble.
Lmao "it was a disaster, I was horrified".
Imagine hiring someone to paint for you LMFAO
He totally half-assed it! 😂
If “I found someone who can do it cheaper” was a person
People dying of starvation around the world and your crying about your carpet XD.
"Dip cups, spit cups, with actual spit in it sitting on the floor" LMAO
"My thanksgiving dinner is ruined" Headline the fucking news, Sally's carpet got a paint stain, how god damn tragic.
Remove the carpet and take it to the local art gallery, they'll sure as hell buy it in the blink of an eye.
The fact hat she brought up his criminal record seems almost like defamation.
its fuckin carpet .. replace all that shit for like $50 cheaper if you do it yourself
Oh well. Most contractors have felonies
