I had a 61 G12, that I factory race kitted, fitted nodular crank and later double pump plate. I did a whole load of lightening and polishing of the internals and externals. I could exceed 120 mph on the clock! It was stolen. Looking at this machine brings a tear to my eye!
Much improved the following year with Norton forks and brakes and lower sub-frame. My friend bought one new in 1964 and it was excellent, handling, brakes and performance. That original 7” AMC brake wasn’t good enough.
I disagree that the Norton forks were better and that the bikes handled better . I have both a 61 CSR and a G15CSR and the 61 handles a lot better . The Teledraulics are better than Roadholders . The front brake I do agree is barely adequate and could be improved.
@@peterranson4365 can’t agree with that. Teledraulics are good, but I’ve found them to be on the soft side, with more fork dive under braking. The 64 bike felt to me so much better than the earlier models and the lower rear sub-frame much improved the riding position. Those last model 31and G15 CSRs were excellent, much under/rated machines. However, we don’t have to agree, we all see things a bit differently and either way, I really rate the CSR 650s, with Teledraulic or Norton forks.
Coffee Shop Racer with full set of bells and whistles. I have seen one of those slightly buxom handlebar fairings before, but that was in the late '60 somewhere in Leeds.

It looks like a new bike. Either one very careful owner or a lovely restoration.
Very pretty, nice colour too.
An excellent machine. Carbs must be balanced right with that lovely smooth tick over.👌
Sounds gorgeous we always seem to think Twin Edward Turner Speed Twin

Lovely bike with a great sound (but I'm not sure about that cowl). That looks like a Rob Swift centre stand, they're great.
@@williamnethercott4364 That’s not a cow, it’s Peter.
You can leave him right there at Andy’s. He seems quite happy there.
It's not , it is an original factory one . They finally got it sorted right at the end .
@@wolfdog7265😂
All it needs is a front brake that matches its weight and performance 🙂
@@ianbooth4255 It has two foot brakes. 🥾🥾
Peter has some mighty brake pads.
Killer looking bike.
So higher compression pistons were also available?
Nice.
Yes they were 10.25 to 1 I Believe. I was running them in my race bike but kept blowing head gaskets until I made solid copper ones.
@@peterranson4365 That’s a lot for an older bike.
Good thinking Peter! Nice.👌
Had a 59 g 11 csr matchless. Front brake was beter than on my new 67 T 110 R . Might as well drag your feet on the Triumph
Great looking bike, but the brakes would be a worry they are not that good on a 350 ! 😊
Nice
I have a 1960 model 31 CSR (competition, sports, road) but it looks nothing like that one. Yours looks out of the box.
It’s the only bike you’ve tried that idles
A quality machine , but I am biased 😊
Sold to Peter ?😊
Not this one , I have a 61 G12CSR.
