I’m very good defense some tips i like to use against good players is when they wall pass to their selves stand in middle of wall and then a bit further ahead of them then head it away
For me when i be a defender if the opponent have the ball i will stay at the Goalposts if the opponent shoot from far away i will bicycle kick clearance almost all my bicycle kick clearence nicely done and if the opponent gk pass from far away i will bicycle kick the ball to my friends when its posibble and i done it like 2 times and the bicycle kick clearance 4 times
Usually, I like to go back to the person the goalie is passing to, most of the times it bounces to their back, and if they do catch it perfectly, I can also tackle them, this also makes me unoticeable, and I also played as a goalie before I become a defender, it's really good to be a goalie before becoming a defender in my opinion so that you have an idea what the enemy's GK would do, and I also dont go pass midfield, because if I fail to take the ball from someone I cant run back, nice guide btw!
tbh doing the low pass directly infront of them is only used by low level players imitating high levels good players will do it to the side and instantly slide on it only way to prevent this is by trying to predict where they will go also doing a instant pass (charge low shot then slide on ball) is good
I do get called a good defender but sometimes i get Caught lacking because of a high defensive line but not everyone is the same as the attack u dont know if the attack will long shot or get close i have over 1000 tackles but i still need to learn because i dont look around myself alot and I dont see the 4 attackers behind me for example im a Attacking Right Back i still need to learn but I dont pass as much I should i do get called a goat defender and a good intercepter but i Think I Need More Training

You could also shoot the ball against the wall on a high shot then hold low shot to you teammates

u shouldnt be behind attackers at most points if this happens alot i suggest trying to stay further back
