I have been told that Kings college London emphasises the GCSE veryyyyy more than any unis? And this vdo shocked me now!! Btw Thank you very for all of your vdos. They are really useful :)
That's a good problem to have! Perhaps you could benefit from visiting the facilities and seeing if you can picture yourself spending the next 5-6 years in there. It's a big decision, I know!
Yes it still matters. Although they let you interview, they usually look at your entire application. If your UCAT score is poor, they may just ‘go through the motions’ of an interview, knowing that they’re going to offer you a place.
Can you please tell me why do I need to complete a bachelor's degree to get into med school to become a psychiatrist? what med school is recommended for that? Thanks in advance
Just to say this the UCAT and BMAT are just systems which filter out as many people as possible , it does not mean how smart and dumb you are and to add to this , don't be disappointed because everyone is smart in their own ways. That score will not show how good of doctor you will be, I know people who can get 3000 on the ucat but that being said they have no social skills, so just keep that in mind that these scores don't represent you as a future medic .
@@yujirohanma203 I mean if they have invited you to an interview then that means that your UCAT /BAMT society was good enough for that uni because otherwise they won't even consider you for an interview, I mean for the most part.

Hi, so a question regarding the GCSE point scoring universities you mentioned at the beginning, you stated that Sheffield is one of these universities for 2023 entry; however I attended their open day on the 25th of June for medicine and one of the key messages the lecturer gave out was that the medicine admissions team do not rank applicants academic achievement, assuming that you meet the minimum requirements. I have a photo of the PowerPoint slide as proof of this. I’m just wondering whether you’re information is incorrect or they have misinformed the people who attended this medicine open day? I’m planning to apply for 2023 ungrad entry into medicine.
So remember that this is relative. If you look at the guide, it explains it in more detail. And without going into every single uni, a quick high/med/low doesn’t tell the full story. But Sheffield has a ‘minimum requirement’, which is relatively high compared to others. They don’t use the point scoring system. I wasn’t saying that everyone in that list uses point scoring, just that a lot do. Apologies if that was unclear. It’s quite tricky to summarise all UK med schools in a short 15-min video. I could probably do an hour per uni 😅
@@FutureDoc Yeah not a problem at all, thanks for responding so quick! I was purely curious that’s all because I was quite confused when you said it so I wanted to confirm what I was told. Love your videos, especially the UCAT ones as I’ve got it tomorrow 😂
I would not apply to Oxford relying on high GCSEs. Because last year they did not take GCSEs into account at all due to them being teacher predictions and inflated. Be warned!!
Hi man what's up. I have been watching your video for 5 months. I find it very useful. Can you help me for motion letter and other stuff. Because I am from Uzbekistan. I would like to study in King's collage university.
Please, I want to ask you about applying. I will start g12 in STEM school and I want to apply for medical schools. Can I apply now and join after finishing g12 or I should finish high school at the first? Note: I got B grade in g10 and g11 with GPA 3.4 and 3.2, so is it suitable for any medical school beside the UCAT and other requirements?
hello doc, I'm an international student I have got 3AAA in chem, bio and physics. Are these scores enough for medical school even if i don't want to use up my scores for maths in my application?
They would be enough but a lot more goes in to getting a place than just good academic grades, especially for competitive international places. If you need any support we are here for you, you can find out more by submitting an application here futuredoc.mykajabi.com/academy
hello Doc, I am an international nurse currently practicing in the UK and i would like to get in touch with you for guidance concerning my eligibility to join med school and which pre med course to take
I got 2700 with band 2 - although I am an international student and I have no idea where to apply - technically I am at the top 3 deciles so I should be fine but the cutoff last year was around top 2 deciles so I'm screwed. Plus this year deciles increased dramatically I put cardiff and Liverpool on my list cause they were apparently low ucat unis - did this change?
@@tanishatanzia5579 my advice is first decide where you wanna work, so let’s say ur an international student in a specific country, that country probably only accepts medical degrees from specific medical schools (for example Canada would accept only Canadian medical schools whereas Hong Kong and Singapore both accept some UK schools, US accepts any place as long as you do the USMLE). If you just want to work in the UK, then any UK medical school or otherwise (such as Ireland schools) would work. Next, UCAT scores cutoff, my score was unable to get any interviews. So get a score in a higher decile. International students are ranked separately as compared to UK students therefore our score is slightly higher and more competitive because the slots for international students are lower. You can check online for cutoff points but also average UCAT score tends to be more important when looking at schools. Email all the schools you are interested in and ask for this information; cutoff international ucat score, average international ucat score and number of places for international students for the last 3 years. Another factor to consider, I think I remember one or two schools ranked based on regions and they specifically ranked Singapore and Hong Kong separately from other countries (because they’re score tended to be higher, so they wanted to be fair to the other international students) so be wary of that if you are from Singapore or Hong Kong as this will make it harder to get into a school. Look at what is more important to the school, is it grades, interview or Ucat score and then assess that with your strengths. In the end any school that is certified by the GMC will be allowed to practice in the UK and the quality is around the same standard. So the prestige of the school doesn’t matter, getting in matters. I think the pattern most people use is 1 dream school (that is manageable), 1 good school and two safety schools. Also your theirs choice can be a school that feeds into medical school such as St. George’s. Hope this helps, this is all I remember about this process.
You shouldn’t think like that. Applying is just a game that you have to play well. Check out more of the channel and you’ll learn how to build a good application. Or have us help you… we’ve got a really good success rate 😊😊
@FutureDoc thank you for your reply It's just not that. it's because i am a foreigner living in a developing country and can not fulfil the finical requirements nor the academic ones because i only have one A level But thank you for your encouragement really

easily kings. its very prestigious and i have siblings who do medicine there. it is class.
I prefer Edinburgh

If you have a guaranteed interview for medicine at one of these universities, is UCAT important for that specific university?

Can you apply to university to do medicine with a biomedical ddd ? As well as doing the bmat exam
Are you an oral & maxillofacial surgeon
will there be an issue with the year group that didn't have 'actual' gcses because the schools made their own exam series due to covid?
It shouldn't be, especially since the 2020 and 2021 year group final a level and IB grades were "adjusted" as well.
I find it very useful
Glad it was helpful! 😊
