I was two when this episode was made and 8-9 years old when it finished airing and got released on VHS. Found the VHS at the library one day as a teenager, borrowed it and revisited childhood. On the back of the VHS, it was mentioned it was recorded in December, 1984. So probably was first aired in 1985.
I remember seeing this when I was very young. Brings back a lot of memories of coming home from Kindergarten and armed with a glass of milk and a peanut butter Muesli Bar sitting down to watch this, my grandmother used to say John and Noni made a great team. Would love to see more full 1980's episodes uploaded if possible, especially with John,Noni,Alister or Philip.
24:13 I Remember This Bit In The Wiggles Whoo Hoo Wiggly Gremlins In Which Captain Feathersword Use His Magic Buttons As Round The World Buttons To Go To Many Different Places All Around The World.
John says "We're going to see some birds now and some penguins through the Windows." But penguins are birds, so he should've said "We're going to see some penguins and other birds!"
Forgot to say, this series was one of the most popular weekly blocks of Play School episodes and that is probably why it was released on video after it finished airing in rotation in 1990.
It seems to be a more modern version of the way they did it in the very start of playschool australia. If you look at the "can we help" clip that pstubeful uploaded, you can see something similar to that with the various first flower clock. Also, the story that is told was told 7 years later, only with the rocket clock as intro (at 5 o'clock)
That was part of the 1992 Hair series with John and Trish. speaking of clocks, Rosie the robot clock was on the Tuesday episode of this Hats series, it was a remote controlled digital clock, styled as a robot looked rather cool in the 80's. Would love to show some modern day kids these 1980's episodes, I wonder how they will react.
something else I was wondering, why did they change the positions of the windows around. In one of the other "hats" segments that pstubeful has uploaded they are positioned Left to right "Round-Square-Arch" respectively, but not so in this show. Why did they do this, especially since at least in the last 5-6 years or so of the 90's, it was always "Arched-Round-Square? Can anyone answer me that
Ah i remember this.... the part where noni pegs the cat & mouse on the hat would not be allowed to air in todays world as it would be very unpolitically correct not to mention the rspca would have a thing or 2 to say about that....
Listen to the piano solo in the Windows Segment with birds. No Play School pianist will ever be as good as Warren Carr.
The best Play School team ever. Such great chemistry, never to be replicated again. Bring them back!! ;)
The only problem is, Noni is now 66 and John is 84. Is that alright?

THIS is the Playschool I remember as a child growing up in the 80's :)
This is better than any Play School episode you'll ever see on TV today.
My childhood, amazing. Love the backdrops!!

This makes me feel old, I remember watching this episode.
Loved the Hats episodes! Oh the memories!
Best play school ever.

The hat animation seen in this episode has been shown many times over the years-most recently in the Put on your Hat series (first aired in 2012).

How on earth do I remember this episode?
Is that Don Spencer who says "And a chair as well?"
What happened to the other 4 episodes of this week? Why have they been removed from UA-cam?

It actually finished around 1991 which is when it was released on video

The Flower clock is a different colour in this episode compared to episodes from 1987-1999.
A.A. Fussy I think between 1987 & 1999 the colours of the flower clock changed FREQUENTLY!!!
What's around the flower clock? Not what's underneath? Well that's certainly different this time.
And I think John was the only one to say [TIME] *by* the clock.
Noni's 66 now. I wonder if she can still crouch down on a block and flap like a bird? And John is now 84.
It was made in 1984 to be more precise.

Ha cool. I remember I had this on VHS, like some of the other commenters. Do you have any other episodes from that week?
