28:38 I thought at first it sounded like John was saying, "See you soon at case court". But he was saying, "See you soon in Play School". Hence Play School, the name of the show.
Loved the bit where John tries to throw Monica in the water, I wonder if that was scripted?- part of me says it was, but part of me thinks it might of been a classic John Hamblin moment. This was Colin's VERY first Play School appearance, It was rare a new presenter did an on location episode on their first appearance on Play School, but they must of needed someone to play the guitar and he was available. I read once he was one of the few presenters that escaped a full blown studio audition.
My favorite part is when John and Monica did the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff as John played the 3 billy goats gruff whilst Monica played the troll as John attempts to throw Monica in the pond as he puts her down and pretends to fall off the bridge. They was hilarious part of John and Monica
Been bothering me for ages: the song at 4:25 (some trees stand tall and reach to the sky) is that a real song, or just made up for this episode of Play School? I've searched online and never found anything to suggest it is a nursery rhyme.
This is what made play school good. Well yeah it did sometimes have it's flaws but any season without the blocks intro made those one with it feel like entertainment value.
I Agree, it's the 50th Anniversary this year and all we have gotten is little excerpts :/ Would love to see more full episodes of the 1990s, especially 1995-1999 as I grew up on the the episodes of that period.
@@taylorbrown6318 G'day Taylor! Sorry I have not replied sooner. I've been very busy with preparing for the virus and it's been very difficult. There are many good Play School episodes I remember from 1987-99 but I can't remember their season names. These are some I remember well... 1. Some episodes were of Pauline reading dreamtime stories. Example' one where she read a parody of Tiddalick. In this parody it was a kookaburra catching the moon and the animals trying to make him laugh. 2. Two dinosaur week versions. One from 1992 and one from 1998. 3.One where George read the book "Red is best." 4. One where Benita acted as a woman in a story who tried to get groceries but instead ended up getting lots of pets. I remember others too but they take lots of spelling out to make sense.
@@taylorbrown6318 Sorry I can't remember much more episodes. This show's been around longer then I have and all full episodes have been running for so long but have only had two reruns of the same episodes. I never taped any due to it running so long and thought it wouldn't become less good later on but it did.
will there ever in the future be anymore full playschool episode uploads on Your Mate With Benita Noni Trisha Monica Angela Pauline Merriy John Hamblin and John Waters Alister Colin Philip Simon David James Glenn Don please reply back and let Me know
The Scene 20:30 would not make it to air in today's playschool as its not politically correct because some people are too immature to see it for what it is: A work of art!
I'm down a nostalgia trip and this was great
It's Valentine's Day today, no better day to sing the Lavenders Blue song!
I think this was Colin's first ever appearance on Play School!
I remember watching this at the age of 3.
26:02 🙁 What's The Name Of That Bird With A Beak Long Enough To Reach In The Bin?

is this Sydney garden
+cool court Of course it is. You don't find The Opera House anywhere else besides Sydney which is why it's world famous.
Young Colin and Monica could get it
Ormigerd, half the city is missing and sexism in the first five minutes!
It always amazes me how oblivious a children’s show can be to things
lol doesn't count
