Air New Zealand NZ546 : Flying from Christchurch to Auckland

The end of the journey is finally here. When booking this flight, the aircraft was originally supposed to be a standard A320-200. Several days before the day of travel, I noticed that the seat map had changed and the aircraft looked to be an international version of the A320-200. On further inspection, I was happily surprised that the aircraft was going to be an A320neo in the end. So, with the end of the season, I've now flown on every aircraft in the current Air New Zealand fleet. Perhaps I will get the opportunity to fly on their upcoming Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner in the future. This 1 year old Airbus A320neo, ZK-NHA, was the first of its kind to be delivered to Air New Zealand.
Arriving at the Domestic Terminal of Christchurch Airport, we promptly checked in and retrieved our boarding passes. Continuing the trend of getting a meal from Burger King, I then took the opportunity to explore the terminal before we went through security screening and waited for boarding. There was a lot of activity on the airside which kept me entertained. Boarding eventually commenced at Gate 18 and I settled in Seat 18F. Like previous flights, I was greeted with my name on the IFE screen. There were heaps of entertainment options with free Wi-Fi being available as well. Pushback commenced shortly after and our plane taxied to the runway before taking off towards Auckland. Some refreshments consisting of corn chips and cookies were served and I got myself some tea and milk too. There were a lot of entertainment options so I ended up browsing the internet and watching an episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" before we started descending into Auckland. There was very little turbulence as we approached Auckland Airport and we touched down. Props to the pilots for that smooth landing! We taxied and parked at Gate 28 and I was fully satisfied with the whole trip. I'm looking forward to my next trip with Air New Zealand and I hope that if I were to fly domestically with them again, the aircraft would be a NEO as they're simply the best for short-haul travel. After leaving the terminal, we collected the Park&Ride bus from the terminal and headed home. Little did I know, it would be more than a year that I would fly onboard another plane. My next flight is already booked but I'm not entirely sure that it will go ahead. I guess we will see what the future awaits us. Awesome trip report. Air NZ livery is, in my view, the most beautiful among all airlines. I have been to NZ many times, but never got a chance to fly domestically within NZ. I hope I could have a chance to give it a try.

That’s because you didn’t travel on an international A320/A321neo. I was lucky they changed the aircraft.
