On Jake Loves Stories, I watch movies for the first time at viewer requests and I give my breakdown during the movie reaction using my screenwriting knowledge that I gained from 8 years of studying screenwriting and earning a Bachelors degree in Film, while also trying to just enjoy the film.

It was said in Avengers Infinity War BY Thor that he’s 1,500 years old. Just putting that there since you asked in the first few minutes of the reaction to the movie.
Edit: I didn’t really like this movie cause of Mjolnior feeling like the main character (at least in act 2-3). Act 2 the hammer is at the focus because everyone on earth is wondering how it works and who can lift it, and in act 3, the hammer comes to the rescue to essentially and *kinda* be the real hero to save the day when the hammer, which has been the main focus for awhile, becomes the hero of the story that Thor should’ve been throughout the movie (if not at least towards the end only).
It was also as much Loki’s story as it was Thor’s as it was the hammers; in my viewpoint.

In every Hero journey we search for that which will make the main character worthy of being called a Hero. Mjolnir is the physical embodiment of Thor's Alpha-Hero capability, the hammer is not a separate entity from Thor. When Mjolnir returns to Thor it is Thor's power that is returning, it's no different from Creed when Adonis must find the inner strength to rise from the canvas after the knockdown.
Other characters in the MCU can list Mjolnir and it's always interesting to find out they are.

MCU movies were always about the character driver drama with some super powers and sci-fi thrown in, that's what the DC movies didn't capture. It took James Gunn bringing the Guardians of the Galaxy dynamic to Suicide Squad and Peacemaker to show the way.

Yeah, I'm starting to see that now. But there are pros and cons, the reason DC still hangs around is because they make SUPERHERO movies, there's gonna be big battles beyond the beginning and end of the movie, so die hard superhero fans may lean DC. Or atleast that's what I would guess from an outsider perspective. If I wanted to watch a superhero, I'm throwing on The Dark Knight trilogy or something like that.

‘Iron Man’ I believe is the best Phase 1 film. Cherish these, as Marvel is losing the plot.

"Your ancestors called it magic and you call it science. Well, I come from a place where they're one and the same thing."
Really? The best? Aside from the rest of the problems this movie has, Natalie Portman has ZERO chemistry with Chris Hemsworth and she's constantly considered the WEAKEST link in the movies. Why they couldn't recast her, is beyond me. And poor Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), the real wife of Thor in Norse Mythology, is completely wasted here. Sif is the woman Thor needs and deserves. #JusticeForLadySif
Fun Fact: When Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin) saw each other in full armor for the first time, "God, there's no acting required here, is there?" Hopkins quipped.
Actor's Actor Fact: Director Sir Kenneth Branagh asked Sir Anthony Hopkins to improvise his reaction to Thor's yelling at him in the banishment scene. Hopkins agreed, and when the scene was filmed, many of the cast and crew present were sobbing. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston later said they had to struggle to keep their composure during filming that scene.
Character Preparation Fact: Tom Hiddleston prepared for the role by going on a strict diet before and throughout filming, so that Loki would have a lean, but hungry visage. To prepare for the role of Thor, Chris Hemsworth put on a massive amount of build and weight, through a six-month regimen of trips to the gym and indulging in a massive diet of eggs, chicken, sandwiches, vegetables, brown rice, steak, and protein drinks.
