- Want to raid Area 51? How would you like to raid it in a school bus? Or take the role of an agent hiding the truth? Heck, why not just BE the alien?
Welcome to Gamecation! Where we take tours through digital recreations of (sometimes) real locations!
We take our first trip down the Extraterrestrial Highway and behind the fences of the most notorious military base of the United States in 10 video games. Exploring the different interpretations of Groom Lake, and all the differ

Many thanks to El Machetero for the Perfect Dark footage, and the great sacrifice he made to bring it to us. You can find his channel here: / @theallstargamer
Tomb Raider 3 immediately jumps to my mind when I hear "Area 51". The UFO set-piece that pulls a TARDIS where it's bigger on the inside than it looks is one of the greatest effects in classic Tomb Raider.
I had to cut that one from the video. It was just getting too long. Itll show up next time for sure.
Admittedly playing Tomb Raider 3 was where I first learned about Area 51, so yeah "Area 51" has the same affect on me too.
Damn it I kept waiting for TR3 to show up
Aww@@GameApologist I spent the whole video waiting for TR3 to pop up - am desperate to hear you talk about the old TR games... Finally caught up though :)
Excuse me, where is Destroy all Humans?
GTA: San Andreas?
Great video anyway! XD
We will get to them, dont worry.
@@GameApologist Fr I was waiting for "destroy all humans" the whole video
i know I'm kinda off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Colby Taylor Flixportal xD
@Kameron Nelson Thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) Appreciate it!
In Puyo Puyo 7, you fight Satan outside of Area 51.
BlueYoshi Master you fight who where in the bean game now
There's got to be Area 51 references in Fallout New Vegas. Fallout 3 didn't have Area 51 but did have typical 60s style UFOs and you could find a ray-gun, as well as a mothership DLC.
Other ideas, maybe Atlantis, Camelot, games where the majority of the game is set out to sea?
How about games which fictional locations are based on real locations? An example Resistance Fall of man, has a level featuring the interior of a church, which was digital representation of the Manchester Cathedral here in the UK. They weren't happy about that. lol.
Oh it's all on the table, really is going to depend on the location! That Resistance example is awesome, I need to check that out.
4:31 The Phoenix in Perfect Dark is the most broken gun in the game, and Perfect Dark has some absolutely ridiculous weapons. The secondary fire option gives you explosive rounds, basically a small explosion that kills most enemies and sometimes their friends next to them. This comes with the same rate of fire and ammo capacity as the standard handgun. It was AWSOME!!
Another fun alien weapon is the Farsight XR-20, a sniper rifle/railgun that utilizes x-ray vision to shoot through walls. The secondary function is auto lock-on, which is exactly what it sounds like. Unfortunately, it isn't used much in the campaign, and you can only use it in Area 51 if you cheat. Absolute chaos in multi-player, though.
Love this video!! Just want to make sure you have fans of your non Sonic vids!!! 😁
You could check out the Suda51(coincidentally 51 is part of his nickname) game Killer is Dead, I believe one of the locations in the game is Area 51 if not a reference to it.
Sounds like a great excuse to play that game.
@@GameApologist The game as a whole is pretty bizarre but then again so are most of Suda51's games.
@@macblackledge6121 Killer 7, anyone?
Deus Ex, one the greatest Shooter/RPGs ever made, has it's entire final level and ending set in . . .
*Area 51!*
That's why it wasn't on the list! I literally had ANOTHER ten games I wanted to cover, so I will absolutely be sure to get that next time!
I was thinking just this!
Oh man, my brother and I played a ton of that War of the Monsters game. There's a playable alien character, if I remember correctly.
I came to your channel for the Sonic content, but I love the concept and execution of Gamecation. I really hope you make some more eventually! Keep up the awesome work and content!
I liked this episode, could maybe spawn a 2nd episode of Area 51? I think GTA san andreas has a area 51 right? Will share the episode to give some love.
It is Ne-vadd-ah I'm from Reno and locals get mad when it's not pronounced correctly 😂 Love all you're videos btw!!
Thank you for the clarification!!
That pronunciation just wrinkles my brain. Nevada is Spanish for a snow fall. So having then locals pronounce it as Ne-vadd-ah goes against my instincts as a Spanish speaker. But I’m not one to argue with the people who live there. Language is ever evolving after all.
@@Altar360 I actually didn't know that. Thank you! I still won't be able to change anyone's mind but its still nice to know for the future.
@@dbomb0613 I mean, It was México before. The name is obviously in spanish, and we pronounce it "Ne-va-da".
Really fun. Hope that this series comes back - I love the idea of exploring real world locations as they are portrayed in games.
Man, I'd love to go on more gamecations, this is awesome.
I want to see Berlin next.
Vacations there are always fun in videogames.
Had your videos playlist playing in the background while doing some computer work
You're pronunciation of the Silver State was correct at 13:35 Ne-Vadd-uh 😅 natives find it super duper cringy to hear Ne-Vuahh-Duh. We're not cowboys 😆 lol
THANK you!!
Speaking of the raid, how did that go?
Either way, I believe there may be other life out there (call me crazy if you want), and I wonder what it would be like to meet them. Hopefully, not chaotic
I certainly hope there is, universe would be too boring otherwise.
They are all living among us already, but that's a truth most aren't ready to swallow yet.

Awesome video!!! I enjoyed this a lot, I saw some games I didn't know of, but also very glad you mentioned Speed Devils and Vigilante 8! Your video is very thorough and complete, especially with the extra context and lore and info you added in between the gameplay segments.
Another game with a little Area 51 in it was Off Road Challenge for the arcade. If I recall correctly the sign at the entrance has a 69 spray painted over the 51, they did the "Area 69" before GTA San Andreas did. Not sure if the Nintendo 64 version had the location too but I guess it did.
It did!!! I loved that game when I was a kid! You could roadkill aliens in the arcade version!
In Asphalt 8, you can race in a track called Area 51
I didnt even realize there were that many games in the series! I will have to check that out.
I never knew they were gonna make an asphalt 9.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 has a level called Roswell, reappears in THPS3 and one of the THUG games
*That moment you recognize that Bruce Campbell was the Tutorial narrator for The Spiderman Movie game*
I adore this series I'd love to see some other conspiracy places covered I really think video games love that kinda stuff.
I’ve been wondering for months now what that other vehicle killer combat game on the PlayStation was called rogue trip thanks for reminding me!
Love that game, very happy to act as a reminder!
I can't wait for the next Gamecation!
Mmmm 😋 that new series smell
That ending though 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Another idea: Games that take place in the Center of the Earth
Certainly worth considering!
@@GameApologist Another idea: Easter Island.
Was wondering if Tony Hawk would show up here. For some reason I was surprised it didn't, but realized that there's just a LOT of games with Area 51, so shouldn't have been that surprising if I thought about it more than not at all.
There were enough games to fill two or even three videos, but strangely, Tony Hawk is not one of them. While they do have an alien themed level, that one was actually based in Roswell, New Mexico.
Granted it doesn't really make much of a difference, still would probably have the same theme either way.
@@GameApologist Ah, good to know! I just remembered it from my childhood and assumed it was Area 51. Thanks for the info. :D
I might be wrong, but I think the Metal Slug series does the Area 51 bit.
There are aliens in one of them for sure, definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the head's up!
I love Area 51 the arcade game I played the heck out of my PlayStation Port of it
I love this channel
3:02
That's it! That's how you say it!
Say it the other way and you are liable to get lynched in Nevada
Such a shame, i'd have love to have finally seen what those attack choppers can do XD...."they can't stop all of us!" Ohhhhh no I assure you they can..
Banjo-Tooie had a section in WitchyWorld that had an Area 51 in it , plus u rescue an UFO and u play a mini-game where u ride the UFO !
Haven't had anyone touch this video in a while, thank you for an awesome find! I'll be sure to get that on the list.
Probably doesn't count, but the first three levels of the Predator campaign in Aliens Vs Predator Classic (the 1999 PC game by Rebellion) are set in Area 52.
Which probably isn't on Earth, but hey, it's a high-tech facility for researching aliens, so maybe it counts...?!
Notice how quickly this has left our conscious 😀
I think I like these episodes even more than the Sonic stuff
you wanna location for your next topic how about new york
I will get there for sure, but there are waaaaaaaay too many games set in New York. I will have to take my time with that one. Great suggestion!
1:30 Isn’t that from the show Dino Squad?
This sticks out like a soar thumb compared with your older vids
Omg ! V8 ! Yes !
Omg ! War Of The Monsters !
Toot toot, Area 51 Warriors
Have you found out a way to get the Scott pilgrim game?
I still have mine when i bought it on PS3.
I found another way which involves emulation. I’m using it right now.
It’s as good as everyone hypes it up to be!
Don't forget Black Ops 1. The Moon zombies map was fucking awesome.
For the next generation video see if you expand the idea of myths and legends in video games.
Got anything in mind?
@@GameApologist Well there's Okami for one. A game called Pain Killers for two, and I know there are some Hercules games on PS1, Gameboy and N64 that are not just Disney's Hercules.
where is my video on the xcom game, nicolas
I call it
Nuh-VAD-uh
How about the Bermuda Triangle?
Excellent choice, and one I am thinking about covering! So far I only have two games on the list, but I'm open to any suggestions!
@@GameApologist I don't know any games that feature that area off the top of my head, unfortunately. Thanks for taking my suggestion, though!

How about this?
Oh yeah this is a thing that happened...
wait what about half life because black mesa inspired by area 51
Thats a very good point. I will have to check that out
More sonic plz
brotha you forgot destroy all humans and san andreas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cow conspiracy 3:40
What about area 69 in gta San Andreas?
Crach 3
you are following the meme
You forgot tomb raider 3
I've just realised something: If you were to assign each number starting from 1 a letter, then Area 51 would become Area EA. Hmmm...
Area 51 for Xbox and PS2.
Deus Ex?
That is absolutely on the list whenever I get back to this!

I can't like it, its at 69
I need to know more about this cow
Call of duty black ops???
