My great great great grandmother and her husband built a house on the next block in 1898,at one point, there were 15 people living in that old house. Needless to say, the neighborhood has changed quite a bit since then.
This is why I love Texas. We don't squabble and give into criminal and homeless activities. Simply remove the hangout spots and force them to keep moving.
All of texas is shutting down, the whole failed state is doing nothing but asking for money and that wheelchair bound schmuck is still letting texans freeze to death for the fourth consecutive year.
WOW……can’t count the number of times I’ve been to that Mcdonalds. Also I’ve taken a few bus trips from that GREYHOUND terminal. Hard to imagine both gone. 😮
I worked there back in 08 when I was in high school off and on for 10 years. Homeless people were always around but when Mr. Scott was the owner it was under control because he hired security. Then when it got turned into 24 hrs I worked the over Night Shift and even at 3am we had security. It’s such a shame it got so bad after he sold it.
Flixbus is making their passengers get on/off their buses with no safety net. I'm glad they are cleaning up the area, but you can clean up the area and keep your passengers safe.
I’ll be honest even their previous owners, First Group was dropping passengers off in sketchy areas too. Flix is just continuing the same sketchy business patterns ultimately nailing the coffin shut to a once respectable and nationally recognized bus company. Too bad the FTA won’t get involved and step in to address the numerous safety issues including passenger abandonment and safety due to being cheap and not obtaining and maintaining enough bus operators
Oh i remember that area years ago in the early 90s it was always popping im wondering if they still got all the clothing shops along the street area or if theyre gone too
they could build a homeless shelter place for resources to help people with drug addiction issues and homelessness instead of just eliminating it with nothing there at all acting like its solving something they will just go find another spot and do the same
@@LeeDfined Houston is going to need a new bus terminal because everyone does not want to drive or fly what about the other big cities like Los Angeles and New York.
So the big city of Houston has no transit or transportation center where Greyhound can go? Seems ridiculous to waste money on empty city buses and train ideas but won't give a penny to Greyhound.
Every metro rail stop from Wheeler to Preston smells like urine and you can literally see human feces everywhere on the station platform on the side streets.

I don't know all the details but Greyhound acquired the property back in 1987 when they bought out Trailways and moved in from Greyhound's former depot on Capitol Street. Maybe Greyhound sold the building a while back and leased it from the new owners. Who knows? It happens all the time. It frees up immediate cash and allows them to exit the property at a future date without the hassle of a sale at that time.
Racist or good business sense? I'm black but business is business. Bus depots are notorious for vagrancy and criminal activity. That McDonalds was the pits.
Dammit I loved the Black Foolery that happened at this location and would extend all the way over to Mcdonalds, It was magical everysecond some dumbshit went down, I was their a man was attacking someone with a machete, someone got her pursed snatched and two crackheads were chasing me around for my shoes all at the same time.
So glad that bus station and McDonald's closing. Too many criminals hangout around there.
Lots of robbers trying to steal from people there.
Is it McDonald's fault? Is it Grayhound's fault? Quit blaming the victim.

This McDonald’s should’ve closed 10 years ago

Thats a lie.. Houston take care of the homeless more than any other major city ..stop it 😂
And stop saying Texas.. It’s Houston .. different way of life than just “ Texas”
That’s not true. Poverty and crime go together in Texas like peanut butter and jelly in the jar.

How is losing businesses a good thing ?
It's not losing, just relocating...
There's a McDonalds on every other block. It's not a tragedy.
Relocating bud. Similar to what Megabus did
Ssshh ignore the rampant crime. Jut shut down businesses they mark as doomed
Because that place is a shithole.
That whole area needs to be wiped out lol
Pls don't mess up club Houston
FlixBus bought Greyhound. But didn't take over any of the leases for the Greyhound offices. Because they make more money with no stations
Flick puts you at sketchy areas

Where are they going to build the new bus station?
Bought by new company that doesn't include terminals in their business model. Terminals will be few and far in between.

Lol I was last there 3 & a half years ago when I traveled to KS & it was a cesspool but still met cool strangers who’d give ya a cig if ya asked.
A Hilton or Marriott would be lit
El Expreso station is to blame. All that Mexico filth brought down the value

To be honest, it's kinda rare to see a modern mcdonalds close and this location closed for a reason
Will be a new Chinese restaurant and a Cadillac dealership, just a guess
Tesla Dealership. Wouldn't be surprised.
Make it into a shelter 🤷🏽♂️

That’s why there should be gates where you scan your ticket and it opens the door.
Looks like a very seedy area to avoid.
The Ooooga Boooga rap Culture crowd screwed it up for everyone with their cold fries 🍟 meltdowns 😂

Good. It's nothing but a rat hole in that area anyways
Arrest these nasty thugs! When will this end
Did you not watch the video.. they are coming straight from arrests already, they drop them there right out of prison
when I was doing Uber eats any time this McDonald’s popped up I gladly hit decline
i remember how many homeless people that mcdonalds had 20 years ago can't imagine how bad it got
I miss my her was on the greyhound bus come Dallas.
The HOMELESS SPOT is closed!!!
Yes , after they made millions .The only problem they see is homeless homeless . Its deeper then that.
THANK GOD THEY CLOSED THE BUS DEPOT.
Not yet it's still there.
So midtown towing has to find another company to tow from
Good close down they don’t deserve
I've eaten there back in the 80's .
I've had my fair share of incidents

El genius incorporated wow wonder why the advertising is great .
Thank god that place was the worst
O.K.
Final some good news. Bye bye McDonalds on St Main. 😁😁😁😁😁
Good that place was awful .
Why business move out black community's that's racist

They should have gotten rid of them homeless people instead of closing it down, not their fault of the crime around it.
The Houston Democrats won't allow that to happen.
