Sounds nothing like the original, but it sounded really good. Actually genius what Adam did with this song.
If no one ever heard of the original country version of this song, Adam's version is really very very new and unique. I fact it holds up very well into 2022. With the country version, you can immediately know how old it is. But this version always feels new everytime. If you mix it along any old R&B songs from 90's till current, you would not know that this version is already 13 years old. That is how good it was.

@@frankvallentin9921 Dimash is great but he is not a rocker and his english is awful, Adam can sang higher than him and more powerful to sang above the band and the fans. Each are great but very different. Imagine 700 billion people and only two great singers.
@@frankvallentin9921 If you like someone who can sing only in operatic mode, go enjoy Dimash's videos. He's always stuck with the classic singing style. Adam Lambert is a singer who does well in any musical style. Especially Rock, using vocal techniques like Drive. Also, Adam is a showman on stage.

All these years later, it's kind of amusing watching these judges who only have a fraction of Lambert's talent critiquing his performance. Considering he's now much more of a household name than most of them (as well as the dude who actually won that year, despite the fact that Lambert clearly should have), I guess he's had the last laugh.
I'm so glad randy looked offended for Adam. It wasn't Randy's chosen style, but he recognized the artistry and talent in him. Simon pissed me off that night. I was moved by this performance and was left crushing on adam lambert for years! Come on "for your entertainment" is pure sex!!

This is EXACTLY what AI lost when Cowell left the show. Yes, plenty of their modern contestants have fantastic voices, but they bring NOTHING of their own to the songs they're performing. The show has just become a glorified Karaoke bar with really expensive production values, but no artistic ones. Should've been cancelled a long time ago. I don't think it will see originality the likes of Adam Lambert ever again.
