Hi Brandon you dont need to cut the plug you can releease the terminals with a thin screwdriver by pressing tabs in on the spade terminals it tricky but i have done it multiple times
I am going through this now. 2004 Tahatsu 30 hp. Salt water New England motor, I got the top pin out but can barely pivot pump on lower shaft or drive shaft out. May end up sawing shaft to get apart.

My next step are to replace the seal. What do you think my problem is and would replace the seal fix my problem. Thanks for your help.
Having problems with the tilt and trim unit on a Evinrude 90 hp. It will not trim going across the water. I cleaned it and resealed it. Everything works fine but it still will not trim up going across the water. Do you have any idea what could be going on? Do you know if I could get hydraulic stematic for that unit? Please I have a question, I have a really nice J10R76H outer but engine needs work and a J15RCRM 84’. Can I take the power unit off and stuff it on the 9.9 shell?
I need your help. The manual trim linkage on my Johnson 40 is broken and I’m trying to fix the little plastic piece that clips on but the motor won’t go down moving the shaft
Been there and mushroomed out the threads on the lower rod. Was thinking you could drill and tap for a slide hammer adapter on those older style upper pins, but is that stainless?
yes stainless. a slide hammer never thought of that, but you really couldnt get enough force to take a really stuck pin out with that. Just so long as you hit it with a pin that is not larger than the pin in the motor, you should be fine

I need that little plug you despise? In a female 5 pin ..i changed my motor and both ends are male ..the round one with the wire clip that holds it together ..what do they call that omc connector ? I tried my local dealer , but if your not buying a boat from them they arent interisted in finding parts for ya ..
