Something I love about this podcast is how Joe cries freely about something he is sentimental about, and how Sal meets it by not making fun of him and gives Joe his full attention instead. He recognised that he was on his phone while Joe was talking about something he cared about and Sal immediately apologised and listened to him. It’s really sweet and endearing
I definitely was not around when either of these shows were on air but I really liked friends until I watched Seinfeld. I can also say I’ve rewatched Seinfeld at least 3 times and I’ve never watched another episode of friends
Seinfeld, even the titles are memorable and conjure up a whole ep in your head. Soup Nazi, The Bet, Puffy Shirt. Then Georges' boss who only has hands in sight yet still kills. Friends is tame, an easy pill to swallow, bollix to it.
I’m putting King Of Queens as best sitcom ever. Gladly have seen every episode at least 20 times and things still make me laugh. Currently watching ep they are on a cruise. And someone tells Doug he would be willing to pay 3K for Carrie’s hair.

@@EvelineE-001friends is one of my fav shows but I don’t think you realizes the point he was trying to make. His whole point is that the creator of Seinfeld is a household name and everybody knows it. The creator of friends can only be found out literally by watching the show and looking at the credits because people don’t have that knowledge in their head. It’s not common knowledge showing that it’s less iconic. I’m not saying I agree that’s just the point he was making,
Very excited for a Prince Paul ep! The king of hip hop skits, producer of the first 3 De La Soul albums (RIP Dave) and producer of the Gravediggaz and the early Chris Rock albums. Hip Hop legend! Don't sleep on the solo albums....

I honestly wish I could speak to Joe for a few minutes. We have so so so many things in common, and I love him. Something in my chest is worried about him tonight. I would like to tell him that he is loved and cared for, even tho people disagree with silly things he says. He’s worth more than people realize, and I love and support him. I’m the type of guy to fight and protect someone I love. He’s someone I think is worth my time.
Joe I'm with you on the crying at that part of The Empire Strikes Back. Star Wars meant so much to me as a child and still does today. Not even gonna lie, i was tearing up just thinking about it along with you while watching 🤣
Friends vs Seinfeld is my Litmus test for how much I will have to talk about with people. People on the Friends camp laugh at dogs wearing human clothes and kids wearing adult shoes. It’s chuckle worthy but not hilarious
Unpopular opinion: How I Met Your Mother is one of the best/consistently written sitcom. A single multi season storyline with multiple branching sotries that all get wrapped up without creating any conflicting information. Feel how you want about the decision to continue the story past the mother but it all still fit the context of the show.
By Season 3 in Friends you can tell the characters are much more defined. They’re not just a group of friends anymore they’re actual characters/individuals with quirks and kinda outlandish personalities at times and that’s what made Friends fun to watch. I’ve watched it so many times now and it still makes me laugh. I don’t care what anyone says Friends is timeless.
Never understood the fandom of Star Wars. Never managed to watch one of them from start to finish. They are so corny, it’s actually tough to watch. Rocky V makes me cry, partly because it’s such a bad film, but mostly because of the flashback scene at Mick’s Gym when Mickey gives Rocky the speech about life and loss. Absolutely wrecks me every single time.
Even before Joe said something about it, I said, "Oh, I love that sweater." Keep it. It looks so good! Also, Sal hasn't watched a sitcom in 20 years but was just on one of his favorite shows, a sitcom, "What We Do in the Shadows." P.S. David Schwimmer is the one who was making it big first and they offered him more money but he said they should get the same amount.
Larry David had 2 rules for Seinfeld, no hugging and the characters don’t ever learn anything/grow. Friends relied too heavily on relationships and emotion.
