Evans is the master of piano - transcending beyond Jazz. He uses classical elements of complex harmonies, but his rubato is in a class of his own. Sensitive, intelligent and often touching music like no other. I've enjoyed him since a child as my Jazz musician father had about 20 of his albums. Peace Piece is special though, and holds a place in my heart forever!
so funny, i was just thinking how this tune was meant to be put on infinite repeat, and just observe something in nature like watching the clouds go by... great idea my friend, thanks, i will keep it on all day now!
Un grand merci à vous pour m'avoir fait rencontrer cette composition, il nous suspend dans le temps, il l'étire , nous demande une immertion au fond de nous ..... 🕯
It sounds exactly like this. The sound of the sun shining at a storm . This is what it sounds like. When one plants so many seeds that seem not to sprout , after spending months on end trying to water each one and yet no sign of growth seems to appear, instead all you find growing is just garden weats. Removing weats more than nurturing the flower to blossom or pruning the tree that to bring good harvest when it's time. All the while praying for rain to fall down so the seeds you've planted can receive their very own gift of life. This is what you'll hear in the sky above the clouds and on top of the stars somewhere in heaven. When the Lord takes his time to water your garden , when God decides to go down and make something fruitful and bountiful from the soil. This is what the sound of a prayer that the Almighty hears and answers in due season. This sounds like when a small mustard seed gradually grows into BEING 😮the biggest TREE in the A GARDEN. THIS SOUNDS LIKE ENOUGH WATER TO GROW A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN.
This song also has similarities to the Miles Davis classic, "Flamenco Sketches". If I'm not mistaken, Bill Evans plays piano on that song too. I'm playing them simultaneously right now, and it sounds pretty cool: ua-cam.com/video/nTwp1sgUJrM/v-deo.html 😎
man... after so many years, I always enjoyed this one... But today, I havent heard this tune for a long time, I put it on and I just somehow understood the "peace piece" of it, all of a sudden...very random friday after work. beautiful experience, thank you Bill.
Probably the single greatest piece of modern music, penned by a totally flawed genius and played by himself, the only person capable of its fulsome interpretation…..in my view of course 😉
God? Well, like I'd know. I know that there is more to me than myself. I know that whatever made me would prefer it if I liked myself. I know that Bill Evans reminds me that I am a part of something much bigger that I don't need to explain and yet do not understand. Thank you Bill.
Something stranger. I recently reflected back to my childhood and remembered my soul being touched by diminished chords. Ijust saw the ending to a series episode Euphoria & Peace piece was played by Gil Evans. I would of loved to used that Saturday nite.
@@hellostranger3889 Salty because Bill Evans is Bill Evans. He can't be 'improved'. Like the horrible jazzing up of Bach. If you can't create for yourself then don't mess up someone else's work. Reader's Digest mentality. But . . . its only my view. There are others, equally valid.
I don't like this at all. I'm not a purist and I don't hold anything sacred (or to be honest, very few works). I believe everything can be manipulated into new forms (just like nature itself mix and manipulate genes into new mutations) and I quite enjoy deconstructive art forms, as well as abstract or mix-media work, surrealist or various forms of contemporary and/or provocative expressions. But this is like putting sunglasses on Michelango's 'David' and think you have created 'art'. This only demonstrates a lack of artistic imagination and is poorly executed. Bill Evans will very likely have an eternal life, but this trash will soon be forgotten.

This piece of music has haunted me from the day I first heard it. It’s simply outstanding.x
Peace Piece was already one of my favorite pieces, but when the storm faded into the mix I wept. Awesome!!! A perfect fit.

IT is a cool autumn day and I'm looking out my back window with rain and leaves falling and I am listening to this. Amazingly beautiful
Echoing those before me; thanks for this gift. Cheers.
Omg what a fantastic piece of music, stormy weather enclosed, all we need in this turbulent world ❤

This is a true masterpiece! The rhythm is similar to Erik Sati's Gymnopedie no. 1, but surprisingly the two songs belong to different genres.
Yesss👍🙃
Jazz pianninsts of the era used to apply impressionist inventions in scope of rhythm and harmony, so you're definitely right :)
And they’re two of my favorites ☺️

It's based on a piece by Chopin. That's where the left hand comp is taken from.

Wow, beautiful mix. Love this song and the added background thunder and rain - ah, perfect. Thank you.
i loooooooove this song. thank you for upload for a long time with some noise. so peaceful.
It adds certain melancholy to the piece but seems appropriate right now, beautiful.
You're a legend for this upload.
Perfect. A minute shorter or second even, would not have been enough. Bravo, Mr. Evans. Bravo.
