Hey Doug. I love your videos! I want to make a gift for my girlfriend that is similar to the hand held radio/antenna that you made to contact the international space station. Her goal in life is to become an astronaut and shes so close. Shes studying mechanical and biomedical engineering, and i would love to learn more about your project to contact the iss, to see if it could be replicated!
@nathansmith6129 Wow, thanks for watching! This is a purchased antenna from Arrow Antenna. www.arrowantennas.com/. There are also a lot of plans online to build something similar. Anyone can listen to the ISS and other satellites, but you need at least a Technician li ense to transmit. Most astronauts also have their ham licenses.
@@kb8m203 Short videos are better watched on shorts, but don't abandon long videos so that you can still convey something more important there because if you stick to shorts only you may never get views in 2 directions
