Make A Witch's Broom

  • This video is a how-to demonstration of making a primitive style broom. Sagegrass, also known as broomsedge is used for the broom straw. This is a very common plant in North America. It could make a good Halloween costume prop or an addition to rustic furnishings for a cabin or hunting lodge...or you could just use your Esmarelda 500 Racing Broom to sweep the floor.

      Thank you for watching. Unfortunately I work a full time job and these things I do are just hobbies, so I can't make and sell them. I just checked on this channel after about a year and was shocked by the number of views of this video. I would have replied sooner if I had realized your interest in this. Thanks again!

    This is an awesome broom! Thanks for sharing your techniques. We want to make a brook like this too, though we can't find the sagegrass/broomsedge, so we will probably use broom corn instead. We found a good stick for it and the cording too. I was wondering how you keep the tight tension on your cord? Whatever you use works really well for you. Thank you.

    What are you using as a spindle for the twine?

    • @immyjohnsonj
      @immyjohnsonj Рік тому

      I made the spindle from a small oak log about 8 inches in diameter. I removed the bark and cut a "wide groove" with a chainsaw where the cordage wraps. I finished the spindle with power sander and hand tools. It works pretty well and only costs a little time to make. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    Isaiah55:6&7,"Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts.Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them and to our God, for he will freely pardon."
    Repent, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior today.This is God's invitation for redemption, Jesus loves you so much and he is the only WAY to eternity.God bless you
