For such a small difference and with a weaker battery, Parkside is great for the money you spend
I have had Makita tools for years here in France. I recently bought a replacement new battery drill. It had a metal chuck. When I came to use my new drill once you put a drill bit in the chuck you could not get it out, the chuck would not undo. Apparently this problem has been known for at least a couple of years. When I mentioned this to the supplier in France their attitude was send it back and we will repair it.
Not good enough! If Makita are going to supply customers with tools that need repair from day one I will now be buying another make. Sad, but for me customer service is as important as the tool.
Not a brilliant comparison, comparing an old Makita with a new parkside and a crap Makita at that, besides the batteries the Makita and parkside would be nearly thr same cost. That Makita now is re skinned model but the same guts and costs £40-£50 for the body alone as does the parkside. The tests should be constructed a little better rather than simply just drilling random things like charge and discharge rates of the batteries, Battery sizes you can upgrade to, battery charge time and temperature, what they are like to hold and how they stack up over time, the temperature of each tool under high load, torque numbers from drilling in lag bolts or big screws... That would be a better comparison.
This is not a fair comparison because they don't have the same amperage battery. The higher the amperage the more powerful the powertool will be.
Also, for the first test with the Makita he held all screws in his left hand. With the Parkside, he selected them from somewhere else out of shot, one by one.
life is not fair
On what planet does that old Makita cost 470 euros? Ultimately the biggest difference between parkside and Makita tools, besides power, is longevity, ergonomics, and reliability. The batteries and motors in parkside tools will die much more easily when stressed. That said, for most DIYers the parkside is a fine place to start. It’s crazy how cheap and accessible power tools are these days.
That's an old mickey mouse makita for light diy only. It is about as cheap as you can get.
You can do as many different tests as you want but the Parkside wins hands down every time because of the price.
Makita: £150 ish
Parkside: £20 😂😂
You really can't go wrong
NOT FAIR!! not fair comparison during screwing... Makita screws were all in one hand putting them one after another, Parkside screws taking them one by one from table. Using WD40 while screwing into big llog with makita, and different capacity batteries. 2 Ah parkside VS. 6 Ah Makita. NOT FAIR!!
