@@tlw1269 Right? To this day, I don't understand why that Gold medal wasn't revoked, the day Galieva admitted that they forced her to take a dive, in favor of Gutsu!

I can't understand why Shannon didn't win also. I looked at all of Shannon's and Tatiana's routines and it looked like Shannon did better than Tatiana.
All of you guys know that the revenge came in 2012 too. Gutsu should have only gotten a 9.85 on the first vault! If she had that much of a difference on her second vault without the hop then. Forget it. First vault should've been 9.887 at most.
That first vault should've been a ten, and Shannon should've won the AA Gold. Tatiana was way overscored on floor, she made an enormous bounce on her first pass. 9.925??? seriously? Insane scoring.
This first vault was the most beautiful piece of gymnastics ever done in an Olympics. And Nuno definitely added to the moment! Maroney had an amazing vault in the team final this past Olympics, but this vault with the single twist really allows you to see how unbelievably beautiful her form was. On vault 2, it is just another example at how AMAZING Shannon was at covering things up. That foot slide was microscopic.

That's what the Olympics are about.

211jump actually you don't really need to have amazing height on a vault to be able to stick it. As long as you have enough rotation you can probably squeeze it around, like Shannon did here, though in my opinion, while she wasn't a very powerful gymnast, she got a pretty good block off the vault here.

None of the Romanians and most of the Soviets could match that. And the landing. Total control. If that’s not a 10, what would be?
