I just saw this video in 2022. I've heard a lot of whining by old school baseball fans and guys who still play in our 50s... and I agree with you, Trevor... I like seeing how you guys have fun with each other, wear thick skin, go back and forth with the trash talking, and in the end you guys smile at each other like 'GOT YA!'... the fans love it and most importantly, you showed why you don't need to throw at guys.
The old school generation wants their brand of ball back. I'm ok if it goes in this direction instead with celebrations and competitors nodding to each other in respect. It also hypes me up to wanna play more ball... at 50... yeah I'm crazy but why stop playing if I can suit up and swing a bat...

Ugh i can't stand the old thought process of just play the sport with zero emotions. It makes the game more exciting and it makes you want to watch more closely bc you don't want to miss what could happen next. Its kind of like a shock jock and people waiting to hear what they say next. Baseball is a great sport and with the time clock speeding up the game the trash talk just makes it more enjoyable all while still respecting one another after the game is over.
As a Dodger fan I love both of these players. Seeing a rivalry form between the two, mixed alongside with nail-biting baseball is entertainment perfection.

I loved Trevor Bauer when he was playing for our team in Cleveland but man you just can’t help but like him wherever he plays...

Bauer v Tatis is the best thing baseball could have asked for right now! As long as it stays respectful it's perfect...and the Tatis stealing a sign thing is shaky evidence at best he doesn't deserve to be thrown at or anything for that...keep this going don't let it be toxic and you guys can save baseball
ya im not even sure how tatis managed to get a sign out of that. I looked like he was checking his feet as his shoulder looked to be in the way of the catchers signs.

Same, I stopped watching around the early 2000s. Started again maybe 6-7 years ago, it has improved, unwritten rules notwithstanding.

I’ve never been a baseball fan, always thought it was boring (also I’ll add i suck at it), but this year Bauer Tatis Vladi and Ohtani have really made me a fan, all the people that hate on the trash talk and celebrating don’t like seeing baseball grow and progress, props to Bauer for understanding that and embracing the competitiveness that captures audiences
I love the pure competitiveness and confidence that Bauer has. Tatis and Bauer are the 2 most energetic people to watch play the game of baseball and I absolutely love it.
I’m a padres fan and have a lot of respect for Trevor, the way he approaches the game is definitely the way all players should think.
One more note, I don’t think Tatis was peeking, he was making sure he was covering the strike zone, that’s what I used to do back in my younger years when I played, specially with a full count.

I only started watching Trevor's content when he signed with the Dodgers, because as a San Diego native I had to get the scouting report on the competition, but I 100% love this dude, I love his content, I love the energy of his content, and I think his take regarding Tatis is spot on: if he was looking, don't do that, but pimping a major league HR is fine.

here's a second comment on this old video no one will ever see. this video really highlights one of my favorite things about bauer. i'm definitely one of those old stick in the mud guys who think baseball's unwritten rules are INCREDIBLY important, but understand not everyone feels that way ESPECIALLY with the newer generation of baseball players. bauer is definitely one of those guys. he trolls the shit out of batters on the field. the fact that he's all for people trolling him BACK is a great attitude. he's not out here saying "well, i can do it but you CAN'T do it and next time up i'm throwing at you." and you love to see it.
