DGA quake is another great option. More distance than a pyro or buzzz OS and fits right between a Z buzzz and something more stable like an MX1 (beef). Love the videos, drove me straight to the website! Keep them coming.
Funny you mention it because I bag an MX1 as well (even though I mentioned Gator and Justice). The Taco has been a great in-between. I keep hearing good things about DGA, I'm eventually going to try 'em out haha
Almost bought a pyro, and will yet. Right now I've got an ESP Malta and it is beautiful. Fairly OS with a little glide, good distance for such a disc, and seems to be full of luck!
This is the A2 slot! Bodanza just started bagging the A2 for Waco. I think the Kastaplast Jarn & Discmania MD5 are similar discs to the Taco...got any of those to compare to the Taco?
The Roc3 is kinda like the Luna in that it's a disc that's never as stable as the flight numbers suggest. My most overstable RocX3 is maybe a 5 4 0 3 disc. The Roc3 is a 5 5 0 2 disc to me.
You mentioned the Roc3 but the Rocx3 is the true overstable Roc. I'm between that and the Croc right now. Not a fan of the Cayman or Gator but the Croc is amazing. More D than the Zone will give you but a lot less ground play than a Firebird.
Bagged a RocX3 for a long time, really liked those, especially for forehand. I think I fixated on the Roc3 in this vid because it has the flight numbers I would give the Taco and it's got a very similar profile Croc seems to be making a comeback in popularity lately, I've never thrown one though
Mint Discs are starting to move into my bag. The Bullet kicked out the Proxy. The Mustang made the bag two weeks ago...... it ain't ever leaving. Now this. 😆 I guess my Deflector is getting kicked by a Taco.
Bullet is going to get a feature vid here pretty soon, it's somehow still so underrated. I think the Taco is the perfect in-between for something like your Mustang and Deflector- for me it slots between Hex (Mustang) and MX1 (Deflector)
I don't think that it's more shallow "technically", but I have found it to be easier to forehand than a Buzzz or Roc3. Slightly lower shoulder, I think
Love it - reminds me of my Prism Proton Pyro. Workable overstability is so underrated
lol now I see you called it out. Same with slightly less glide, my thoughts exactly!
Great minds think alike 😏
The disc that comes to my mind is also from Mint, the Lasso. Probably my favorite throwing putter right now.
Did it replace anything for you or was it a new slot?
New slot - Just recently became confident enough to throw putters off the tee. It's a whole new world out here boys!@@ArmoryDiscGolf
@@ArmoryDiscGolffor me it replaced my envy. It’s a tick more stable but works wonderfully back hand and forehand. Has a tactic feel to me.

bought a quake last week. thrown it for 3 rounds and its my favorite disc now.
AGL Magnolia , goes straight backhand and forehand with consistent fade at the end. 5/6/0/2.
Mint Lasso and Terminal Velocity Ursus have been my favorite OS finds lately.
The Lasso is in an interesting spot between "Zone" and "Envy"

Haha gotta keep the lucky ones in the bag for sure
Great video, mine was the kastaplast yarn it is everything that an overstable approach disc should be IMO
I like the Jarn, the A2 is awful hard to kick out of the bag though so I've never given it a shot. Kasta plastic is top notch though
@@ArmoryDiscGolf I hear ya, I lost a 3 year old soft tactic and couldn't find a decent replacement thats how I stumbled on the yarn
I love the yarn! It's so good!!
Discraft Malta. Basically everything you explained the taco to be. I don't think the flight numbers match how it really flys.
Yeah, the Malta is a great one in this slot too. I really like its small diameter
This is the A2 slot! Bodanza just started bagging the A2 for Waco. I think the Kastaplast Jarn & Discmania MD5 are similar discs to the Taco...got any of those to compare to the Taco?
I'm an A2 fanatic haha. The Taco is slightly faster and has more mid-flight push to it (though a 300 A2 is pretty close)
I just started using it in the 500 Spectrum, N8 Turner's edition...the dome is interesting
everyone should also try out the DGA quake. very good disc. similar to the taco. workably overstable mid that bombs for a 5 speed with only 3 glide.
The Quake has been up there with the Pyro as the most recommended comparisons in the comments. Has me interested for sure- how is it forehand?

I agree top to bottom

I throw the westside pine in this slot, its beadless but flies very similar.
I was uninterested in the Pine before, but if that's the case, if I lose (another) Taco, I may just reach for that next...
If you just have a noodle arm like myself the roc3 has plenty of fade at the end.
But if I ever cook my arm past al dente I’ll keep the taco in mind.
😂 The Roc3 was my go to mid for years and years, fantastic disc 👌
My glow taco (nocotaco) went straight in my bag, booted my cryztal buzzz OS
RIP to my Naco 😔
@@ArmoryDiscGolf 😔 dunked my nocturnal at lakeside last Friday, even took a dip looking for it but no luck
@@mitchr2554 They fly well but are awful at swimming lol
I would love to get this disc from Armory but its sold out at your store! (Sold out in the 170g+ Apex) Will you be restocking??
The Nocturnal are available now, the Apex release on the 7th at 7pm CST! 🌮
@@ArmoryDiscGolf just got my Taco!! Cant wait to throw it
the pyro for sure
The Pyro takeover is happening
Is the Taco shallower than a Buzz? I've got an ESP Buzz that's pretty OS, but I don't like how deep it is and kinda suck at forehanding anything deep.
I don't think that it's more shallow "technically", but I have found it to be easier to forehand than a Buzzz or Roc3. Slightly lower shoulder, I think
You may want to try a Mint Bobcat, although I'd compare it to a Buzz OS but a bit more shallow.
When I build my perfect custom MPO player, I'm positive I'm using Nick's forehand. PDGA 2024 it rates out at 97 but it's definitely a 99.
Haha I appreciate that
Maybe I'll get those extra 2 when I don't sail a 180' hole by 40 😂
The second you said mint, I immediately knew it was basically a pyro, which is the greatest midrange ever
These are really close to Pyros, which I also love. I feel like I get a tick more distance out of the Taco
Clash Mint is another good mid for this slot.
This silly guy is so silly
You say that, the original intro to this video included a stirring rendition of some Counting Crows lol
Pyro clone? Flies like it...
Flies a lot like a Pyro but feels more like a "normal" midrange. Much more similar in feel to an MD3 than Pyro
