The best snowmobile trailer setup for me. With sled deck on truck.

  • I've gone through every phase of trailer setup and this year decided to downsize (well not really) for a few reasons. I sold my big gooseneck and decided to go with a 20 foot all aluminum trailer. Come for a tour of my 20' SNOPRO trailer as I walk you through the trailer and all of the mods I've done!
    There's been a few questions about the specs of this trailer so here are a few more details:
    - The straight wall on the inside is 16' long.
    - It's 8'6" wide on the outside and 8'2" wide on the inside.
    - Ceiling is 6'6" on the inside.
    - Axles are 3500lbs.

    Bunk Heater is here: amzn.to/35UVVmP
    Motion Light is here: amzn.to/2TYqKor

    How long is the 'tongue' on the trailer...and what length sleds are you running on the sled deck ? Thanks !

    • @DIGIT9
      @DIGIT9  4 роки тому +1

      Hey David, this cold weather is slowing down our response time! The trailer has a normal 2 foot tongue. But I have an 18" extension on the receiver. Both of those sleds are 163"s. Also keep in mind that's an 8 foot box on my truck! We're going to make a little video about the logistics of all of this. Great question so thanks for bringing it up! We actually have a video coming up next about that deck and loading and unloading so maybe we can just tack some more info onto that video. Anything else you can think of to cover about deck/truck/trailer setup?

    • @davidknapp3450
      @davidknapp3450 4 роки тому +2

      @@DIGIT9 Can't wait for the next video ! Especially the 18" extension on the receiver. I have a 7x14 in-line w/ v-nose that I started out with and have made 2 or 3 trips with it to Wyoming from northern New York. I've moved up in trucks and added a Truckboss Sled Deck. I used just the deck to travel to Alpine last season w/ a 153" High Country and 162" Mtn Cat. I love just the truck & deck for getting into the riding zones WITHOUT the hassle of a trailer and general ease of highway travel BUT it would be nice to have the additional storage space of the trailer to get across the country and be able to throw a sled on the deck if necessary. Next project is to improve upon the trailer storage ! Thanks

    If it works for you that’s the main thing. Thanks for giving us the tour. I’ve got a very similar set up, had a different heater set up until I took your recommendation on the diesel heater. Only used it a few times so far but good.
    Decks are good and bad, great for access in the late spring, mid winter you are riding from the parking lot anyway.
    Enclosed is really nice to have a dry (and warm) spot to change or dry stuff out.
    We’ve stayed in mine at the trailhead in Golden, Revy , and Fernie (not in the dead of winter, just too hard to dry out gear well if everything is soaked). But in the spring it’s a total blast. Have a big fire, drinks and fire up the genny, go to bed. Get up and sun is shining and makes the mornings very casual while the snow starts to soften, no rush to get away from the hotel and on the road. Definitely changes the dynamic of my day to a more relaxed tone. Highly recommend you do it bud.
    Sorry about Kassian......haha go flames

  • @stevenpringle7813
    @stevenpringle7813 Рік тому

    Your trailer is built over top of the wheels. How does it tow compared to the lower ones that are 7 feet wide? Around here (Ottawa) I can't really find that many of the wide ones like yours for sale. The 7ft wide ones seem to be the most popular. Yours is wider and allows the sleds to be beside each other I am assuming. What are the trade-offs? I was thinking it must be related to how it tows compared to the lower ones but I have no idea. Thanks.

    • @DIGIT9
      @DIGIT9  Рік тому

      Being higher off the ground is better for back road adventures for sure but does come with a towing penalty ! Mine is also 6" taller on the inside to allow for my S x S ! My trailer is all aluminum , weighs 2500 lbs empty , but does catch more wind when towing ! The 8'6" width is better than the 7' wide for sure , but if you have mtn sleds ,then the 7' ones might be ok ?
