- Various footage (courtesy of Stephen Street) that showcases Blur recording their third album, Parklife, in Maison Rouge Studios, London, 1994. This video inexplicably disappeared from UA-cam some time ago, so for the convenience of myself and others, I pulled it from Street's website and uploaded it here once again. 5:59 onward is sheer magic.
I wish they could've captured Alex playing the bassline to Boys & Girls
"And here is Alex, sitting between two giant piles of cocaine, playing the bassline of Girls & Boys"
And Entertain Me from The Great Escape. Very underrated bassist.
Hell YEAH
GIRLS & BOYS!
Mister Yowl Same bassline haha
I was always struck by Blurs talent and the mix between artistry & introspection and being accessible lads... they make fine art for the masses
Graham playing that brass, with a face like a small kid at a school concert. Bless
The glory days of the 90's never to return!
4:20 ok Damon go off
Eleven Eggos Lol. He genius though.
This footage is gold!!! Love Blur
'This Is A Low' is one of the eeriest and biggest-sounding records ever made!
The guitar melody is what makes the song.
Rolling Stone just had a 'Greatest 100 Guitarists' and GC wasn't in it?! Joke poll if you ask me..
his vocals at the end are so beautiful
5:23 aahhh his singing is so satisfying here
Excellent! And to think as they were recording this they probably felt like you couldn't give Blur away (after the brilliant but mostly ignored Modern Life..) then they exploded with Parklife and music was changed forever! In my top 5 best albums of all time.
Unbelievable vocal takes - very strong. The last of the "real bands" where one had to write and record ones own music.
I'm Indonesian, 47...and i'm still with blur since i'm young...and now i'm waiting for THE BALLAD OF DARREN at 21st July 2023.
That's my birthday
Wooo! Fellow indonesian but a lot younger, glad to still have you here!
great, as 19 i'd say you had a charming youth,

Wow what a gem this is! So good to see the process, this c.d got played to death lol, for many of us I'm sure, such a good album. This is a low such a cool song! Wow, cool! 👍
thanks for uploading this! Damon's the best!
this is brilliant thanks for sharing!
Love the work with all these little thingies and makeshift devices, that hardly deserve to be called "intrument", like the kazoo and the other stuff. It´s little details like these, that make great things.
6:40-6:52
Fuck, just realised how great guitar part to Magic America was and how bass part mathces with it tightly. Can;t really hear that on album version with all that keys.
