I know I have a few videos out there, each with different topics for Bio so I combined them for this video. I hope this is easier for you when Studying Biology for the TEAS.
This is EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW (AS FAR AS BIOLOGY) FOR THE TEAS 7 EXCEPT, "Micro-organisms + microbes/ Infectious disease".
I haven't done a video on that topic.
_____________________________
This video reviews the following topics:
Protein Synthesis (Transciption + Translation)
chromosomes, genes, DNA + RNA
Mitosis
Meiosis
Mendel's Law
Punnett squares
Macromolecules
Cell Structure
Biological Hierarchy of the body
Scientific Method
*PLEASE READ*
Hey guys! During transcription (5:40) I mentioned "RNA POLYMERASE UNZIPS THE DNA STRANDS" THIS IS TRUE. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO SOME LITERATURE, THE PROTEIN "HELICASE" UNZIPS THE DNA. ATI SAYS HELICASE "UNZIPS" DNA, NOT POLYMERASE. PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THAT BECAUSE IF YOU GET A QUESTION ON THE EXAM THAT ASKS "which of the following "unzips" the DNA strands? HELICASE is the answer.
Helicase is also the one I've heard in pickup lines that are puns about wanting to unzip your genes (jeans) lol.
If you are going to take the teas 7, please try not to get bored with this video. Instead get obsessed with it because you are going to need to know everything from this video to pass. I can’t thank the maker of this video enough for her precious time.
🥹 thank you so much for your kind words, you’re so sweet. I wish all the best and I’m sure you’re going to do great on your exam!
This comment made me focus on the video and take notes! I just took my TEAS yesterday and this helped soooo much!! Thank you
@@jessicaebarb6117is the video helpful? How was your teas exam to

Used your review and practice question videos while studying with a prep book and got a 91 on my TEAS with an almost perfect science score!! I can’t tell you how much i appreciated how throughly you breakdown each concept while being straight to the point, really helped me test my understanding :D
Congratulations 🙌🏼 that’s a great score! And I’m so happy I could help 🥰 all the best on the next step in your academic journey Sofia 💗
Congratulations Sofia. Please what prep book did you use?
^really. Perfect on science is insane
Congratulations love, what book did you use?
I took the TEAS twice. I watched a lot of your videos after I scored a 62 the first time. My science score dragged my overall score to the floor. I’m such a visual learner and you made such an impact the second time around. Thank you for the 87!
Hi! I'm so happy to hear you were able to improve your score! and i'm glad I could help :D I wish you all the best on your next step in your academic journey!💗💗💗
I also scored a 62... do you recommend anyone else for each of the other sections?
I watched your Biology and Chemistry review and Q&A. I had only two weeks to prepare for the TEAS exam and got 88.9% on Boi and 75% on Chem. My scores are not very high but I took my prerequisites around 10 years ago, so those scores are all from you. Thank you for your help :)
Those are great scores!!! I’m so proud of you. I know it must have been tough learning all that material from the beginning, it’s hard enough for students who just finished those classes. I wish you all the best on your next step in your academic journey 💗 and thank you so much for your support, it is dearly appreciated 💗💗
@@thetutor_geek If there was a review of anatomy and physiology, it would have been helpful, but it was a shame not to have it. I heard that it will be ready in April, but I hope it will be of great help to other people who are preparing for this exam soon. Then they can get a good science score. Thank you so much once again.
I took my TEAS exam this week. I did well all because of the topics reviewed on your site. Thank you!!
There were questions on the kidneys. Where does the blood filter when it passes through the glomerulous?
Quite a few questions on virus ‘. Why they may cause cancer and HIV
Also questions about which artery does an MI affect
Also Aftive and passive transport questions
Hope this helps you all. Good Luck
You just helped me get an 86% THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRL!!!
Your videos have helped me so much! I am finally starting to understand Bio now! Thank you! You are so appreciated! ❤

I took my TEAS yesterday and got an 86.7% overall and a 93.2% on the science section. I’m a paramedic professionally and sure, that helped a bit, but bc of your videos (especially this one, your chem, and endo videos) i was able to easily navigate my way through the intricacies of the TEAS questions. You are AMAZING!! I hope you do NCLEX videos. Ty for all that you do!🤍
Also, to those taking it. I had a lot of virus, female reproductive, and menses questions. Science was by far the hardest and most detailed section. Watch these videos on repeat, they help immensely!
Hii, 93.2% on the Science section! That's awesome!! Congratulations, overall you did great!
I appreciate you coming back to leave feedback, it is definitely helpful for future exam takers...I plan on doing NCLEX videos but not until sometime next year...I wish you all the best in your program!

I like how you go step by step and also repeat important key points I will most likely watch this twice and take notes. I had to reschedule my TEAS because I felt July 7 wasn’t enough time so I think mid August will do. Thank you for this content and I will check your store to see what is there as well!
Hi, very wise of you to reschedule for a better time. I am sure you got this and will do very well in August! Happy studies my friend!
Your videos helped me score an 85! Thank you so much for all that you do!
Omg, I need your video so much. The way you break things down made it so much easier for me to understand these concepts.

Just passed my teas!! Thx to your content, I was really prepared for anatomy, physiology and chemistry !! However, for biology, I didn’t study as much but there was faaaaarrrr more bio questions than any of the other subjects I mentioned. Bio and chemistry were the two I saw most on teas 7. Thanks again tho 👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome, Congratulations!! Thanks for the feedback, I'm sure it will be useful to a lot of students preparing to take the exam soon.

Or Chem and bio ?
@@th5178 Thank you! The majority was by far AP questions, followed by a little bio and even less chem (at least this was the case for me).
If you came across this video and you are studying for the teas 7 and you are questioning whether you should watch it because it is so long. I AM TELLING YOU!!! WATCH IT, THE ENTIRE VIDEO. I took my teas back in January before this video was up and got a 55 on the biology section. I watch her chemistry review and got all 10 question correct. I am retaking my exam this month hoping for a better grade, I got a 74 overall score. My science score was a 72 and after watching this video I know it will increase my biology section. She covered EVERYTHING watching it I thought to myself "this was on the exam". I'll come back and update yall once I take it again this month, Remember to never give up this will be my fourth time taking this exam.
thank you! taking mine for the first time august 3rd, studied 6 weeks but still doesn't feel like enough! best of luck! and update us!

Passing the ATI teas test is when you study hard, if you can’t study or you don’t have time for your studies I’d advise you get yourself a help like Mrs Amalie

1:10:37 “group of the humans” 😂 sounded like something an alien would say. In all seriousness, thank you for this video, the animations and the clear, concise explanations you give is a splendid skill that you have. Hope you find all the success going forward.
😂😂 probably not the first time someone has said that. Lol. Thanks for watching!! And thanks for the support 💗
i am very much a visual learner and your images/tutoring tactic works like a charm. thank you!
@thetutor_geek Hi can you clarify what you meant, when you were going over the base pairs I was a little confused when you said in 7:18 "What nucleotide base pairs with T in RNA'' when I going over to look at the base pair for thymine I saw that thymine was only found in DNA but, you said RNA so I was a little confused. Can you explain?
Hi! Yes this is a tricky concept. The blue template strand has DNA base pairs and the Purple mRNA strand has RNA base pairs... Thymine is replaced with Uracil in RNA and the pair to Uracil is Adenine...maybe it would have been more helpful if i would have said "what pairs with Uracil in rna" instead of "what pairs with thymine in rna"..... I hope this helps. this concept is not easy and student often have to look at it over and over again...Please let me know if there is a way I can clarify more.
Thanks for all of your videos. Does this review has another part coming up?
Hi, this does not have a part 2 coming up.
By when do you think you will put up all the science of TEAS videos. I love how you teach I can only follow you I don’t know why. But if you just would to teach me all Anatomy I know that would be fun
Hi! Honestly, uploading is very slow for me because I'm a one man band and these is a lot to cover. February/March I am uploading Biology videos. These videos are just re-doing a few old topics I already did and making improvements on them (visually). After that, sometime April I'll start with Anatomy + Physiology.
By the Way, I just read the comment you left on another video. To answer that question, This video is everything you need to know for Biology except "microorganisms+microbes/infectious disease" (I have not touched on that topic yet).
I wish you had printable copies I would definitely buy them 😩
I wish I did too! I’m workin on it ☺️
Hi, I just finished watching TEAS 7 chemistry videos pt.1 and pt.2, now I'm watching this portion. Would those videos and this video include everything found on the chemistry and biology sections of the TEAS 7 test? Also thank you for taking the time to create these videos on your channel, I really appreciate it :)
HI, AS FAR AS CHEMISTRY GOES-THIS IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. FOR BIOLOGY, HOWEVER, I DID NOT INCLUDE "MICROORGANISMS+DISEASE". (i'll be adding it to an updated video later in the year). Thanks for watching!:D
Do you have this video as a podcast? I wanted to listening to while I workout or walk! =)
I don’t :/ sorry.
no were you said the sets of codons in the ribosome you said the letters and then you said something about them making an amino acid .
Did anyone took the hesi and this helped?

Do you have like a PowerPoint with all slides available? I am still struggling with Bio and Chem... Even with the videos. They are super long (very helpful), but long?
Hi, unfortunately I don’t have any other supplemental material at this time. My biology questions have a bit of written explanation and that might help, they are on my website.
Thank so much for the video!
Do you know roughly what percentage of biology is on ATI Teas 7?
It's different for everyone but roughly 9/150 questions will be Bio.
Hi. Thank you so much for this video. I was wondering if you could make the video less blurry? Thank you
Hi, is the video still blurry for you? I’m not seeing it on my end.
Me neither
@@thetutor_geek nvm idk it's not blurry it was probably my phone... Thank you
hello! I came across your chemistry video for the hesi, do you think this will help with the biology portion of the hesi as well?
Hi-Yes, definitely!! I have had students use these for Biology on the HESI. The topics are the same (as far as I have seen), I believe HESI has more topics for Scientific Reasoning though.
@@thetutor_geek thank you so much! I'm really enjoying the chemistry video.
I thought it was Helicase that unzips DNA. what makes DNA helicase and RNA polymarase different from each other if they both unzip the DNA?
You are correct. Helicase unzips and polymerase decodes. I have this correction pinned.
@@thetutor_geek omg I didn't see that sorry 😭 also do we have to memorize the amino acid codes?
@@Kavya-rc2so no worries! The only code I would memorize is AUG as the start codon.
Would the info covered in this video also apply to the HESI a2 exam?
Hi, yes it does. I’ve had students do really well in hesi A2 using this video.
Do you have any printable handouts on this ?
Hi, I am working on creating one. I only have Biology questions available at the moment.
With the gene segment I’m getting it but then when it gets to where to place in the blocks I’m confused 😩
Place in the blocks? …I know genetics in general is one of the topics students have to review again and again and again because there are so many meticulous little steps
@@thetutor_geek sorry referring to when your for instance have the 4 cubes and you write each one in guess it just takes practice because I feel confused on how to know where to write each set in if that makes sense
@@prettywknowledgepwk5805 oh okay, that makes sense. Yes, it does take repetition. I’m sure you will get it soon enough:)
Do you think the Mometrix Flash Cards (TEAS 7) is a good purchase?
Hi, I actually have not looked at Mometrix flash cards. I do think that flashcards in general are a good supplementation but they can't replace a study guide book in my opinion.
So for amino acids in a protein, we should remember 21 amino acids and 9 essential acids correct? Well what I mean is just know that there are 21 amino acids and 9 of them are essentials. Also, I'm curious, I already mainly covered the chemistry section and the biology videos from you. For Anatomy & Physiology, what have students said about that section? From feedback, what are usually the most important sections I should focus for A&P? I know it's best to try studying them all but I just want to know which ones I should prioritize first.
Yes that is correct 👍...For A&P, I would say Cardiovascular is really important to know like the back of your hand. Although I've had a couple students say they didn't get many cardiovascular q's, most students did. Endocrine seems to be pretty high yield as well. I hope this helps!
@@thetutor_geek would you say one very important part of the cardiovascular system would be learning the blood flow? I was actually just watching the part 1 video and I think I already know the flow of blood and where it starts and ends. So I guess everything tied to the cardiovascular system is important not just solely the blood flow through the heart. I know that’s very important but I’m assuming so is everything else within that section. I’ll also look into the endocrine system then. Thank you so much for being able to answer all my questions with a timely matter. I know many wouldn’t have the time or would be able to reach back. These videos have also been pretty good in freshening up along with teaching me new things.
@@albertotapia7272 Blood flow has to be the most important thing to understand in Cardiovascular system, yes. However there are some random heart questions on the exam like Blood pressure and ECG readings so be prepared...and No problem, I'm happy to help when I can.
@@thetutor_geek would you say your videos cover all of that that’s or at least a huge majority of it? Because I watched your videos on that and I understand it all I believe. I feel pretty confident.
@@thetutor_geek So would you say that the most important sections of A&P that I should focus on are the cardiovascular system and Endocrine System? As I've stated before, I know it's best to try to get a lot of them but do you find those to be a top priority or is there more? If so, you got any other videos I should watch from you or you recommend any?
at 7:13, you ask what base pairs with Thymine in RNA, but when you were pairing the nucleotide bases, you said Thymine is only found in DNA ?? Did you mean to ask "what nucleotide base pairs with T in DNA?"
Hi, I probably should have said "uracil" because Uracil replaces Thymine in RNA. but because we are using the nucleotides in DNA to make RNA I said "Thymine". I can see how this is confusing, the way I worded it...technically there is no thymine in RNA. Uracil replaces thymine and pairs with Adenine. Please let me know if you need further explanation. this is a tricky one to put into words.
@@thetutor_geek im only 10 mins in taking notes but im already overwhelmed with the amount of info . I feel like i’m over studying for the science portion of the teas but i also feel like if i dont know all of this then i’m understudying?? Advice?
@@jill.hoffmann I have had mixed comments on what students have seen on the exam. Some say there is a ton of chemistry and others say there is a ton of A&P. Most of the students that say the exam was "easy" are the students who studied a lot. My advice is to be strategic. If you have the time, learn as much as you can (especially science) but if you don't have the time then stick to high yield topics. I know it's a ton of information and it sucks.
if it helps...for chemistry...the high yield topics (topics that students get questions about a lot) are...finding the # of protons, neutron,electrons...ions +isotopes...balancing chem equations...temperature changes...types of chem. bonds. hope this helps:)
@@thetutor_geek thank you! What are the high yield topics for bio and a&p?
@@jill.hoffmann biology-DEF know menders law + Punnett squares, protein synthesis, mitosis + meiosis,...
A+P- focus on the cardiovascular system...and the rest of A+P is kinda a mix of everything.
Can someone explain polygenic inheritance please? Im a bit confused. Maybe another example could help. Thank you :) Taking my TEAS exam on July 1st ! :)
Polygenic inheritance is where one character is controlled/influenced by more than one gene/locus. It's kind of quantitative inheritance i.e there's a range of traits (Dominant most to recessive most) instead of only two as in case of monogenic inheritance. And more the number of dominant alleles the trait will be more towards the dominant most extremity. Same is true for the recessive alleles. Say for example, body complexion is controlled by 3 genes A, B & C; here, AABBCC genotype will produce the darkest complexion and aabbcc will produce the fairest. But many intermediate complexions are possible in between the two extremities based on the permutations & combinations of A,a & B,b & C,c.

@@stefanycorrea-qf6zr oooohhhh I see what you are saying now...You're right I never wen't over the Amino Acid codes.
AUG is (in my opinion) the only codon you need to remember. AUG codes for the amino acid, Methionine. Also, know that AUG is the most common "start" codon. It initiates the translation process.
