  • Small sago is tasteless on its own. However, when added to hot dessert soups or cold desserts, it will add a chewy texture to the desserts and make them tastier.

Easiest and fastest way is to pre-soak for 30 minutes, they will expand but will not break up. Then cook according to needs.

    - Add water to boiling water and add sago.
    - Bring to boil, set fire to medium and cook 5 mins.
    - Take off heat and soak for 10 mins.
    - Drain sago under running water until cooled.

Thank you. Sago balls are bouncy textured just like those you find at good boba shops. I have tried Pre soaking it before boiling and it doesn’t produce the same bouncy result. So the recipe works perfectly.

Great video. Have you made Tapioca pudding this way?- By first boiling the pearls instead of soaking? Many recipes call for a long soak (overnight) some recipes call for a short soak of around 30 mins. Curious if you have any experience with tips to make better tapioca pudding. - Thanks!

for cold dessert, the second cooking must be boil water first like the first cooking isn’t it? but do not need to add cool water like the first one. tq
