Thank you for the encouragement! This is our 7th year homeschooling. My oldest is 16, next is our 15y.o. (both girls), & an almost 12 y.o. son. My 14 y.o. wants to go to public high school next year because she wants "the experience". Rather than battle her directly, I'm praying God will change her heart and open her eyes up to the flexibility and blessings she now has, as a homeschooler.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

You are so blessed to be doing this HS thing for 7 years!! Wow, that's amazing. I know it's scary to let your children want to try things out, but just support her and let her know all the pros and cons. Your relationship is most important so stand by her if she chooses "the experience". Don't be afraid of your kids trying to fly... all will work out because they have you as a Mom. Thanks for watching and commenting! Big hug, fist bump, and high five to you.

My biggest struggle at the moment with my teen boys is that they are so hungry all the time, I feel like they spend half their day in the kitchen! At first I took it in stride, but it is really starting to drive me crazy. Do you think it's unreasonable to set times during the day when the kitchen is closed, vs when it is open?! I don't want them to live on packaged snacks, but it is a huge disruption when they decide they want to pull out all the pans and make food. If they were at school or work, they couldn't just wander into the kitchen whenever they want, but at the same time, if they are growing, I want them to be able to eat.

As a mom of 5 sons, I so relate!!! This is a blessing and a frustration. Yes, maybe after breakfast have a closed kitchen during the mornings. Then after lunch and they get most of their school done they can play chef in the kitchen. The cool thing that they are learning though is how to cook!! So many young people have no idea how to feed themselves nowadays. All my kids, especially my boys, are amazing cooks. So your situation just may be a blessing in disguise. Thanks for watching and your kids are so blessed to have you as a Mom. 😊🌼

Of course I’m going to say yes to HSing your daughter because that’s my passion. However, you as the parent need to be excited about it too. You can HS, you absolutely can. It will take some time to research and get a plan down so your daughter is successful at getting a great education at home. There is a lot of information and resources out there for HSing, but you as the parent also need to be prepared and committed. If you don’t have the time or confidence to HS, you could start by going the route of a K-12 online program. Basically it’s just public school at home. That could be a temporary way to get your feet wet and to see if having your daughter home works for you. Thanks for your comment. I know there are a lot of Moms with that same question. 😊🌼
