You might be the first dude (or dudette, for that matter) on UA-cam to set up for the exact tone I want for my own playing. I've been eyeing an Orion for almost a year now and am 100% sold on it after your demo. Thanks man, killer playing and great deep dive on the tonal possibilities with the amp!
@WidowmakerStudios unbelievable. My drummer runs a pro studio and he said it's one of the best he's ever had there. Does everything I want and the line out is real handy for silent recording/practice
@@WidowmakerStudios Hell yeah! I kinda wanna try KT77s/EL34s in mine, do you notice much difference in the tone when you swap? Power tubes usually won't color a high gain amp as much as classic designs
Great demo and playing! How would you compare it to the Ares, especially Lead 1 and Lead 2? I also have a clean mode on Ares, so is dedicated clean better o the Orion? Thanks!
I don’t own the ares but I texted Kyle and he said this. The Orion has more gain on tap overall. The Lead 1 though is very similar to Ares Lead. The Lead 2 channel has more gain and a different voicing. The Crunch on Orion has more gain than Ares Crunch. And the Orion Clean, while similar in vein to the Ares Clean Mod, it’s voiced differently and the Bright switch reacts a lot more friendly. -Kyle
Great breakdown, got me thinking I want to try one of these out myself now! Loved the send off at the end too 🤣

Great playing and explanations, yet another great video! Thanks Josh!
Ended up pulling the trigger on a used Orion from Guitar Center last week, should be here tomorrow and I absolutely can't wait
How do u like it so far?

@ the line out is so awesome! No need to buy a load box haha. Built in load ftw!

Whats the cabinet loaded with in this demo? I just ordered my Orion and was thinking about having a 2x12 built for it (tight modern prog metal tones).
its loaded with a v30 and a creamback. also the same cab i used to make the ksr IR pack on their site :)
