We can assume that just as they are significantly harder to poof, the same can be said for shattering, just like the strength of a real diamond. Seeing that even Pink, the smallest of the bunch, can literally compress and heat dirt to diamond with her bare hands. Bismuth's breaking point could've probably cracked a diamond at best.
Diamonds are hard as far as being able to scratch other minerals and resist scratching by anything softer than a diamond but they tend to be quite brittle and can be easily shattered or broken along their cleavage points (edges of their crystal structure).
@@NoHandle44 I don't think that Aquamarine and Eyeball would've united as they did in Future. Steven is the only diamond and they'd probably be reluctantly loyal to him
I never got why people were surprised that Steven "redeemed" the diamonds. Aside from him not being a killer, it was kind of obvious that him shattering or even bubbling the diamonds were going to cause problems like a Homeworld Civil War, or Homeworld going after Earth as part of revenge. Plus, we still needed the diamonds to heal the corrupted gems. Regardless of the result, the one we got where Steven talked down the diamonds was the best option at the time, if not the lesser of three evils on how to deal with the diamonds.
Eh yeah....But blue, yellow, and white were basically stupid levels of evil and it feels wrong that they get this bull crud pass because "Oh they were grieving pink." When 1. They treated her pretty much the like crap then 2. They really started to care we they thought she freaking died.
It’s the scenario where the abuser feels bad not only for the victim but there selves as well for hurting the victim and pushing them to the extreme, but I think the cycle of abuse still would continue if Steven lived with them due to what they represent and because they still see Steven as Pink Diamond, “the victim.”
I really don’t know what everyone was expecting when it came to the ending of this show. What, did y’all think Steven was going to shatter the diamonds or something? Y’know, it’s been years since the finale, and I have yet to see someone come up with a viable hypothetical for the ending of this series that fixes their issue of the diamonds “getting off the hook to easily” while also remaining consistent with the themes of the show, with the characterizations of the characters, and still makes for a proper ending to the show that deals with the corrupted gems and keeps earth safe If anything, I would argue that Steven Universe teaches us the right lesson: that it doesn’t matter how bad the apple is, what matters most is doing the right thing that serves the most benefit. Yeah, the diamonds definitely deserved to suffer for their actions, but ending the series with their shattering or imprisonment would’ve led to Homeworld annihilating earth and the corrupted gems remaining uncorrupted. Stuff like this is why characters like Optimus Prime and Superman are written like individuals who are responsible with their great power, and not these losers who think their hate boner is the end all be all of what needs to happen
In other words, did you really think Steven at the time, wanted to commit murder at a young age? Even if he did, that would make him what he would not want to be. A Diamond just like Blue, Yellow, and White. As well as a lot more trauma.
@@estebangutierrez160plus, it just doesn’t work out in the long run If the diamonds were shattered then the corrupted gems remain waxed and we’ve seen how vengeful Homeworld gems were from when rose quartz supposedly shattered Pink Diamond, so what do you think is gonna happen after all 3 diamonds are shattered by their traitor Diamond, exactly? What does that mean for earth? What could possibly happen next other than the *utter annihilation of the planet???* This is why Optimus Prime ain’t written like these people istg, they would be the ones to pull the trigger and then ask important questions
Rejunvating the diamonds. Sealing them away within another object or being. Said object or being inherits the diamonds powers so that gem life can continue and corruption is healed. Those are some ideas I had as alternative endings.
It's still hard to believe people think this would have been a better ending, the ending with steven going agaisnt EVERYTHING he stood for... some people just want to hate the show for exisitng
Some people think they should have been and the writers came up with a way to make it happen But yeah he wouldn't do something like that but it's interesting to talk about
When people say the diamonds should've been killed, I don't think they understand that the only way we could get a happy ending is if they all decide to change and help Steven. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of him and everyone else going to Homeworld in the first place. It would've been impossible to establish peace and free all of the gems if they murdered any of the diamonds, they'd all have bounties on their heads and would never be safe.
Something like this sounds both really sad, really intense, and really interesting at the same time. It could be used as part of a series that shows us what the series could've been like if certain events happened.
Both ideas hurt so much yet are soooooo good. I kept thinking 'Please make a book about this I'd love to read your ideas fully fleshed out' dude you understand this series so well, I admire your adoration of this show and its hindered potential
I think it depends on context. For example, Belos from Owl House was killed off and no one seemed to care about that. I think that's because of the fact that many people realized Belos' lies, and the fact that he put ALL OF WITCHKIND IN SERIOUS DANGER with the Day of Unity. Something like that can damage one's faith in a leader very quickly.
@@DrawciaGleam02 True!!! It also applies to the type of gems that are made on colonies, the famethyst aren't as wired as gems like Peridot / Jasper / Eyeball / Aquamarine / Emerald / Holly Blue.
I tend to be in line with that there should have been consequences, but I'm not the "the consequences should be shattering" type as that does in fact defeat the purpose of the show. My criticism is mainly addressed towards White specifically, given some grace has to be given for the forced rushed ending. For one, I don't think White should be really in charge anymore. All the diamonds get to keep living in their palace, which just doesn't feel right to me. Consequences from there could be more naturally incured, such as lost trust, restrictions on power, loss of privileges, et cetera. As it currently stands, they still have quite a bit of privilege over other gems, which just feels...wrong. One thing I think would have been more interesting is if White was bubbled in her shock, and THEN taken down to Earth and released her there. To demonstrate caution, wariness, to force her to face the impact she has had on others. I would have liked to see the reasons behind why White helped expanded on a bit more rather than a montage of gems being released and healed. I think it's important to note that consequences are NOT the same thing as PUNISHMENTS. Punishments would break the show's themes, naturally occurring consequences from strained dynamics and relationships are not. I would have liked to see the strain between White, Blue, and Yellow after what White did for example in Steven Universe Future. To see the effort it is taking for them to try and grow, to see how things are running now and how things are being repaired after all the trauma. Now, of course several of these ideas would require reworking of the entire episodes to cut other things out to make room for more than a montage. To do the bubble idea would require quite a bit of reworking for the gem theft scene as well; if you're looking for minimal reworking, then I think the scene back on Earth would be the best place, inserting a minute or two after Lars' arrival and the Diamonds' reaction to the offcolors' fear. A few lines from White and Steven about White Diamond's impact would have gone a long way over mere expressions, and would have paired well with the previous lines about how White was supposed to help people. For the Steven Universe Future ideas, there would have had to have been additional episodes dedicated to the Diamonds. Perhaps longer episodes overall, where the Diamonds' arcs act as a foil to Steven's.
Wow just wow! That was a very good video Roundtable! I have been watching your videos for a while now and I’ve got to say this is one of your best. It definitely got me into the mood to create more content about Steven Universe. On another note; maybe you could do an alternate scenario about “what if the diamonds were proofed.” This would make it interesting as home world would be sent into chaos, but on a timer. Steven grows older on earth regretting “shattering” the diamonds. One faction could be dedicated to reviving the diamonds, others could be the emeralds, fusions, and lower caste gem uprisings. Then the diamonds come back and crush the confusion. Then homeworld is united once again as they set for earth. Steven could be older and weaker not ready to take them on. (Or maybe in his prime, su future replacement?)
If the Diamonds were killed then it’s pretty obvious that a lot of Gems would’ve celebrated while the fanatical ones would be pissed especially Aquamarine and Eyeball.
A lot of people are talking about what would have happened within the current lore of the show, but there's also the critical angle to consider that the diamonds didn't _have_ to be necessary to heal gems if the writers didn't want them to be. The diamonds didn't _have_ to have any excuse to be redeemed for the greater good. The writers (I believe) simply thought the diamonds _should_ have a redemption arc and wrote the lore around that. With that in mind, I think it's appropriate to ask _why_ the writers wanted that redemption for essentially "space Nxzis". And to that point, I think people missed the whole point of the diamonds' existence in the narrativeーand gem existence as a whole. They _need_ to deplete other planets of resources and life to "reproduce". Or rather, they were programmed to, or believe it is necessary. They simply disregard other forms of life for their own species. _Just like us humans._ They aren't "space Nxzis". Yes, they were militaristic and forced conformityーthat was (imo) a separate thematic conflict framed around the struggles of queer people and others who dare to be different in our societyーbut the baseline for people suggesting the diamonds are deserving of "poetic justice" comes down to saying they're irredeemable for _things humans do to Earth irl._ If humankind is redeemable, then gemkind is, too. And even if you were to narrow your focus down to the humans actively making the decisions to hurt the planet, a la the diamonds who are in charge, at some point, you also end up coming across genuinely good people making a lot of complicated and nuanced decisions to protect vulnerable humans, even at the cost of the environment. The diamonds were sometimes jerks, but their current portrayal from The Movie and Future shows them as having been ignorant rather than malicious, and that still matters. Lastly, the show just very much promotes rehabilitative justice and abhors retributive justice. Both have positives and negatives: Retributive justice can sometimes help victims heal, even though it can also perpetuate revenge cycles and vigilantism. Rehabilitative justive is shown to lower overall crime rates, lower targeting of minorities by police, and lessen poverty cycles, but you always risk putting dangerous people back out on the streets again. The show gives us a good, practical reason to believe in rehabilitative justice by writing excuses (healing gems, evolving their powers to help others, etc.) for the diamonds to show commitment to not going back to the way things once were, which is a thing a lot of humans in general (especially those failed by the justice system) are otherwise capable of. For a kid's show, but even for an adult show, that message is extremely important for the audience. Contrived or not, this is the best and most responsible ending, albeit a bit rushed and thus less believable for unfortunate reasons. Anyway, this is why I appreciate the ending, even with its flaws.
The thing is: The diamonds would basically be the CEO’s of companies that destroy nature. And the show is saying that said CEO’s are just people who have a tragic backstory. Also the diamonds corrupted thousands of gems and shattered thousands them as well. We don’t redeem genocidal maniacs on earth. And millions of people are trying to stop the extinction of life on Earth everyday. The diamonds commited mass omnicide without any care to preserve a species besides pink and blue with humans.
10:57 It's funny that you brought up Sneople, because I do have a scenario where they introduce them in the show. Taking place after the events of Season 5 but before the movie or Season 6. The Earth gets invaded by them.
I honestly thought the Sneople purposefully created the Gempire. Basically they utilized said Gem production. Planet gets sucked dry, no life is possible, nothing emerging that would threaten their own empire.
This perfectly shows how killing the big bad isn't always the right move to make, lest they become a martyr. Same thing with Aang not killing the Firelord.
But the difference is Ozai didn’t get to walk away a free man and had to face consequences. The diamonds got to live in their palace with all their resources and power.
Honestly you definitely should do more what if’s, I’d suggest what if Steven got his Diamond powers early if you decide to do more of these types of videos.
And what about other fandoms. Like, Gravity Falls: what if Dipper was on Bill Cipher's side? Or what if Bill won in Weirdmageddon? Or Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake: what if Fionna's arc goes differently? Like, her really trying to get magic back to her world and her desire of not hurting anyone, because magic was the source of the life-force of her world? Or what if Simon's arc wasn't around Betty, from who he could've already moved on and letting her go earlier (like after CAWM), and around him being out of place in OOO (this part i really-really hate), but around his Ice King's PTSD and how this connected with Fionna-world in his head? Like, he somehow still have some bits of the ice magic and this magic was the source what keep Fionna-world alive. And he needs to be magical, but without Madness and Sadness, and fighting with his Ice King's side, what he need to accept.
I mostly was inspired by video about "The Lion Guard". It's called "The Lion Guard and Menthal Health" and it was a really good explanation about Kion's trauma, because of the scar from Scar (lol) and the power of the Roar of the Ancestors, and how he goes through it. Why Simon in F&C can't go same way as Kion, like improving this bits of ice powers, but without madness and sadness, and working with his traumas, especially experience as Ice King, instead of "everything bad happened because Simon was "inattentive" to Betty (BUT HE NEVER WAS IN ORIGINAL AND EVEN IN EPISODE 8!!!) and Betty was way more important than his depression, PTSD and feeling of not-belonging". And with this he will be fully magical and keep Fionna-world alive and, maybe, it's restores some bits of its own lost magic too. And, maybe, we can have something like real "clocks are ticking" when Fionna-world start to disappearing because of this little bit of magic, what start to run down. And when Simon start to train his magic skills, it start to slowly restoring and, maybe, making it canon helping it to not be destroyed.
5:00 omg this has been something I’ve been imagining for years but I thought I was the only one who would want something like this, the idea of Emerald and other Gem Antagonist joining forces is just too good to pass up, I especially like the idea of Emerald being in charge.
idk why people hate the idea of redeeming the diamonds so much. like... this is a show primarily aimed at kids and teens, it's fictional and that's how the entire show has gone. in one of the art books rebecca comment that they wanted to tell a story where Just For Once, everybody can see the error of their ways, change and become better. ... isn't that a nice thought?? isn't it nice to have just one show, one little reality where you get that peaceful ending? no it's not that easy in real life, no you can't sing a song to a bigot and suddenly they're your best friend. but it is A Story, and frankly i think the idea that truly anybody can realize their mistakes, that they can change and even repair the damage they've caused Is A Nice Little Thought. ... also yeah the show got cancelled and lost 3 seasons, i don't blame them for rushing season 5 the way they did. nobody talks about that enough. it's not their fault it was rushed.
There is a fanmade steven universe comic called white steven where steven universe himself is white diamond instead of pink diamond and the story is good so far and may or may not still be ongoing and there is another story where steven fuses with jasper into a fusion known as pink onyx
8:06 Bluebird: You idiot. Emerald: Hm? What are you talking about, Bluebird? Everything went according to plan! Now we can build our new empire! Bluebird: And exactly where are we going to build it? Emerald: …Oh, crud.
I always thought it would have been interesting if they had the diamonds get shattered in FUTURE. BY whom? Oh Humans who weren't happy about aliens invading the planet, sure it would have been fine if gems existed all over for a long time. BUT the only gems actually around in human form were the crystal gems, who kept in secret. Giving time for stories to become myth. Some humans would have HATED Gems coming to earth, some finding old gem tech, some creating things to disable gems. Basically EMP that affect gems. Show up to beach city when their secret agents pop in, set off an EMP during a concert... All gems get poofed immediately, steven goes unconcious due to a severe headache. The agents gather all the gems they can find, arrest all the populous who support gem kind. Steven manages to get saved by Connie, Greg, and Lion. As well as the 4 crystal gems, i.e Pearl, Amethyst, Ruby and Sapphire. Maybe also finding Peridot and Lapis and bismuth later. The EMP managed to do more damage than a destabilizer, their abilities don't work for sometime after reforming. I.e Pearl can't summon clones, they can't shapeshift, they can't even FUSE. Or if they can their special fusion abilities don't work. Oh and Sapphire... Yeah her future sight would be turned OFF as well as her temperature ability just like Ruby's would be OFF too. But not all gems would be lucky, see the agents would capture all these gems so they could find ways to shatter their gems entirely. No shards, just dust not even a single bit to reform from. Their test subjects? The Diamonds. *If they can shatter them, then they can shatter all* Steven and Gang manage to save Blue and Yellow's gems... But White is not so lucky, her gem gets shattered into pieces right as steven opens the door to her chamber. *Some bits even turned to dust so no magic spit, diamond fluid will fix her fully* Causing him to unleash his pink form with full rage. Pinning all the agents present to the walls.
Do the Diamond’s Gems have to be intact in order to collect Essence from them? Could the fragments still have the energy needed for the Essence Extractor? There could be stored off Diamond Essence left on Homeworld , like how Spinel found some in the Movie.
I sorta feel the Same about Lord Dominator From Wander Over Yonder got off easy just like the Diamonds did in Steven Universe. It did kinda look like Lord Dominator was kinda gone. I don't understand why it does not get talked about as much as The Diamonds in Steven Universe. To be fair it is a hard subject to touch on. Not to mention there was another factor in play when came to Wander Over Yonder Season 2. But if you have your opinion on it let me know.
Happy New Year and it's about to be five years since the Steven Universe series finale end. If the were shattered then maybe a massive war would happen or homeworld has freedom.
While I hate how rushed the ending was, I like that Steven’s ideology won out with enough perseverance. But don’t get me wrong, these alternate endings are awesome and would be fun to explore. But with that said, PLEASE finish Rewritten! I was loving that story and want to know how it ends!
I also have a diamond what if. But my is more of " What If Steven sacrificed himself to save everyone from his monster self " This is how it might've played out The Crystal Gems and The Diamonds are trying their best to find a way to fix Steven. When out of nowhere, some cosmic beings appeared. Revealing themselves as the creators of the Diamonds. When they sense that Steven was in trouble, they came as fast as possible. They suggest that the only way to save Steven from this form is to separate him from his gem
@@ShadowyDolphine They explain that if they separate Steven from his gem, it could change him back, but Steven can't live without his gem. Luckily, these cosmic beings also have a plan for that as well. They can bring Steven back to limbo with them. The energy from their dimension could keep Steven, but he won't be able leave.
Steven has the power to mend cracks in gems. What if he pushes it to the limit and put the diamonds back together in the finally. That would be an interesting turn out in the so called season 6.
Prediction for the bubbled video: White manages to remove Steven's gem and Pink Steven is formed. Pretty much the same events as the canon ending. But after pink Steven screams "SHE'S GONE!", he leaps at the diamonds and unleashes an extremely intense burst of pink light powerful enough for all of homeworld to see. Not only does this light poof the diamonds, but it also revitalizes Steven while erasing Pink Steven from existence, allowing him to live as a regular human. With the diamonds having lost their physical forms, Bismuth swoops in and bubbles them out of pure survival instincts. At this point, Steven is presented with the opportunity to end the war by force, which Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot fully support. Although he immediately shoots down the idea in favor of a peaceful resolution, as he stared into White's gem, he begins to contemplate his options. While forcing the diamonds to do something they don't necessarily want to do would make him no better than them, he thought, he began to wonder if there truly was no other way to ensure Earth's safety. Alternatively, now that he was fully human, he could wash his hands of gemkind completely and focus on Connie, his father, and his human friends. But he knew he would miss the crystal gems too much if he went that route. Garnet, having been freed from White's mind control, wrapped her arm around him and jokes that the diamonds have earned a "timeout" for now. Steven chuckled quietly and played along, saying that instead of a lonely tower, they'll share a room with the bubbled corrupted gems. Some of them may have a bone to pick with the diamonds. Taking the diamonds to earth proved easier said than done, due to resistance from shocked and blindly loyal homeworld gems waiting to jump at the chance to be hailed as heroes of homeworld for rescuing the diamonds, but after the crystal gems narrowly escape and detach Pink's ship from the rest of the diamond mech, they place the diamonds in the boiling room and decided to take some time off to carefully consider their next course of action. Sometime later, a fleet of Homeworld gems attempt to invade earth on a rescue mission. Instead of fighting, however, Steven comes to the realization that only a diamond can permit Homeworld gems to change their ways, and that hiding will result in more conflict. A decision needs to be made ASAP, and with that, he grabs the diamonds bubbles and releases White and only white. Still remembering the incident that saw her bubbled in the first place, on top of being surrounded by gems from both sides of the conflict, on earth of all places, with Blue and Yellow still bubbled, White felt far enough out of her element to listen to what Steven had to say. Steven explained how he lost his gem powers, and thus, his claim to the diamond throne.. but he also tells her that what happened on her ship proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Pink was gone forever. He explained that taking her frustration out on earth and projecting her idea of perfection onto the universe didn't bring Pink back, nor did it benefit the empire since no other planet can sustain her demands, and the people of earth will never allow their home to be destroyed, regardless of the circumstances. With this in mind, White acknowledges that both factions have lost their closest friends in the war. Steven and the crystal gems present White with an ultimatum. Neither faction wants to see the diamonds deposed, so they will allow White and the other diamonds to continue ruling Homeworld as long as they agree to dismantle the empire, allow gems to live however they please, and never attack earth again. Additionally, since there's nothing they can do about the corrupted gems without Pink's powers, Steven insists that the remaining diamonds be placed under strict supervision when ruling, and they are not to make any decisions without consulting the crystal gems. Some of the homeworld gems question whether this would make Steven the same as the diamonds, but he denies it, saying that he's been fighting for peace this entire time. However, the diamond's definition of peace has been forcing their ideals onto others, instead of giving gems the freedom to choose their own fates. As much as White resents the fact that it's come to this, she also understands that this is the best compromise they're possibly going to get. If things continue as is, Blue and Yellow will continue to suffer emotionally over an empty cause. Afterwards, Steven releases Blue and Yellow and explained his ultimatum to them, to which Blue also reluctantly agrees. Yellow, on the other hand, adamantly rejects the idea initially, as she refuses to allow inferior gems to effectively run homeworld. Blue tells her that if Pink were still here, she'd say something like "there's no such thing as inferior gems". Yellow is left in shock, not because of how easily Blue was persuaded, but because she couldn't argue with that logic. White diamond slowly turns to Yellow and tells her that the war is over and they have lost. This was probably the first time Yellow was forced to accept defeat, but she made it a point to be gracious about it. Since she's never really depended on others, there's no one she could blame. With all Diamonds having agreed to Steven's plan, they and the crystal gems return to homeworld so white could make her formal announcement across the universe.
Ok this is another alternate ending of the alternate endingWhat is Steven got more aggressive killing everybody which was in the way doesn't matter if it was gems or flash fighting all which was still on the diamond side making them fear instead of peacefully making them understand
It'd be difficult for the Emeralds to retain authority, given that only Diamonds can create new gems. It makes more sense that Steven would leverage his status as the last Diamond to buy time while he finds a way to restore the others.
4:02 Why would only the other diamonds shatter (blue, yellow), and not the rest that were under white's control at the time?? You could argue that their gem placement wasn't the same, But neither were blue and yellow's gem placements. infact, most of them werent. Except for pearl. I dont quite get why they would shatter anyway. white diamond was shattered, and it seems like they're only copying her movements. so wouldn't her being shattered in that moment just free them from her control like the regular gems? (Pearl, garnet, amethyst, pink pearl?) Sorry if there was something in the show I didnt catch or something that would totally back your video up, its been awhile since I've watched the show but I occasionally rewatch favorite episodes. "change your mind" being one of them.
I think saying that the diamonds were redeemed is kinda crazy tbh, like both in the movie and future we are shown that Steven is not on good terms with them and has a lot of complicated opinions on them that he's keeping in the back of his head cuz he basically just doesn't wanna talk about it rn I have no doubt in my mind that if Steven Universe was given a proper adult continuation, the Diamonds would be addressed again, just to give them a proper closure if anything
I always got the sense that the diamonds weren't redeemed but where playing house with Steven. They where just so happy pink was back that they just went along with his demands. Personally I think that will only last like 100 years (assuming Steven even lives that long) before they get back to normal.
You should do a full version of this. I guarantee you can make some money off of that not saying that you have to. I’m just saying if you do make a full version it would probably be really good.
I understand shattering White but Bismuth shattering the other 2 just seems unrealistic with how she has seen the two interact positively with Steven on Earth and how she can see that both are under White's control.
It really does stand by the question of "What If..." I mean if things went differently in the finale. That opening question really hits the key note here. :)
WE NEED A WHAT IF VERSION FOR STEVEN UNIVERSE, like what if pink diamond finished her colony, or what if rose never met Greg (and how Steven’s absence would effect the current time in season 1-7) or what if Steven never told the other gems rose was pink
Tbh I feel like if the diamonds were shattered it’d end up being like a sort of reset where the diamond army invades and only a small part of the crystal gems survive. Similar to what happened when Rose “shattered” Pink Diamond
I feel like a lot of people really didn't think through the idea of the diamonds' death causing more problems, or how it would affect steven, because they seem really just keep forgetting that those are his FAMILY MEMBERS. People complain about them being treated like silly aunts, but they are his aunts. His moms that have been on the other side of the damn Galaxy for 5000 years, wishing that their sister would just come home after driving her off.
You should’ve went there Inuyasha route where the diamond shards shatter and scatter everywhere and it’s up to the Crystal gems, too gather up all the shards. And put them back together, but other gyms are finding the shards, and using the shards in their weapons, or in their gyms alone, so they can become more powerful and stronger to become the next ruler of gem kind
I feel like if we had gotten a season 6, Spinel would’ve either been rescued and fought on the crystal gem side or would’ve been found by the home world gems forced to fight during the war. Also I feel like after the change your mind alternative ending would be left on a cliff hanger and season 6 would be a timeskip making Steven become his 16 year old self
the movie still happen as in spinel mad at rose for abanded her bring a drill to kill earth life erase all gem memory. steven can't use her power the same. except the dimond bc there ded.
Spinel could’ve found and used the replicator wand on herself to make a massive army of herself and her rejuvenator but ask Bismuth to make a new and refined version that sends a massive shockwave with every swing that’s only capable of reverting the opposing homeworld army back to their gems with the added power of the gem destabilizer. The crystal gems would bubble the poofed gems before they could reform. Obsidian would make a hologram obsidian (from Pearl) to take out the invading ships. When the arrive on homeworld the aquamarines are the first taken out by the rejuvenator and bubbled followed by the other gems one by one until everyone is in a bubble. Using her future vision Garnet foresaw the copied spinel bloodthirsty intentions asking her to destroy the original duplication wand when this is all over. As a last attempt to insure that the threat is gone across the solar system, Pearl tells Steven that there’s a way to rejuvenate and poof the other planets they’ve haven’t been to but only a Diamond can activate and deploy it. Without any hesitation they warp to the moon base where the untouched planets warp pad are targeted and rejuvenation sequence is set off, ending all the strife conflict and reestablishing peace across the galaxy.
Why would we say it has a bad. Steven is a diamond too, i feel that the rest of the gems on home world would still be crushed but what's still submit to Steven him being the last one of the diamond authority.
This will be a lot to say, so apologies for the incoming wall of text. I feel Eyeball (Ruby) and Aquamarine’s involvement with the Emerald Authorities would have more of an opportunistic motive than simply revenge (though revenge would be a factor, just on a more personal level) The two of them would try to use the Emerald’s discourse towards one another to raise themselves to higher places of power. For Eyeball, she’d try to be the one to take out the Crystal Gams - and more specifically Steven - to be seen as the “Hero of Homeworld”, gaining power and glory as being the only low-ranked Gem to do the impossible. And for a flex, having perhaps a multitude of Pearls at her beck-and-call. Something she’s dreamed of owning, for whatever wicked whims she wants to do with ’em. 😏 As for Aquamarine, she’s always seen herself as simply better than other Gems. And with the Diamond Authority gone & the Emerald Authorities not being able to get their acts together, she’d see this as a way to place herself in a higher point of power than than she ever could in the old Era. Perhaps not vying for an overthrow of the Emeralds, but by being in a more “advisory” role; whispering in the ears of the higher-ups so they do as she wishes. She’d be the little puppet master pulling the strings from the shadows, all the while flaunting her power over the “lower class” for her own amusement. (which for her, is pretty much on-brand) 😈 In the Alternate-Alternate Ending, Steven and his friends might have to contend with with the two in different ways: for Eyeball, it may have to come down to a one-on-one between Eyeball & Steven in which Steven ends up proofing then bubbling her to perhaps be taken to trial. As for Aquamarine, the Crystal Gems would have to expose her influence between the factions so that she’d lose all credibility, ultimately being captured by her own subordinates. (which they’ll more than happily do for having to put up with her) 🤬
I like to think in this timeline, Steven is slowly going pink, getting larger and stuff. The stuff about his powers introduced in future coming much earlier as the war rages on, with him being in the final steps of accepting his new fate before Bismuth arrives and with the pieces of the cluster turned to armour, communes with Steven.
Can you please do star vs the forces of evil ? Like what if star and marco never danced under the blood moonlight. Please do this what if ,if you see it as an interesting new plot with lots of potential .
Wait a minute, Bismuth only aimed at White Diamond, not Yellow or Blue, so why did they get shattered? And if it was because they were under White’s control then why didn’t the Crystal Gems shatter? I know this may sound dumb, but I don’t remember him saying that Bismuth shot the Breaking Point at the other Diamonds
i definitely feel like bismuth would have suffered the same fate as the other 3 and white pearl. White appears to be quick, especially with 6 other gems blasting at her.

Hey roundtable I have a question
Are you going to be videos about New gravity falls characters and new Steven universe villains both human and gem.
You should really check out Invincible Fight Girl on Adult Swim. It's something that you'd probably really like.
Paragon Hybrids.
Does anyone else see the weird lines on the video?
hii
We can assume that just as they are significantly harder to poof, the same can be said for shattering, just like the strength of a real diamond. Seeing that even Pink, the smallest of the bunch, can literally compress and heat dirt to diamond with her bare hands. Bismuth's breaking point could've probably cracked a diamond at best.
Not to mention how stationary you’d have to be in order to shatter anyone with that
Diamonds are hard as far as being able to scratch other minerals and resist scratching by anything softer than a diamond but they tend to be quite brittle and can be easily shattered or broken along their cleavage points (edges of their crystal structure).
None of the corrupted gems would be healed. Spinel would never be found. Bluebird probably doesn’t come to attack.
All of gem empire is freed i guess
@@deondrex18knot without potential jumpstarters like Emerald and the garnets
Spinel could still be a thing if news of what happened to the diamonds was tranmitted across the universe via special announcement.
Blue bird?
@@NoHandle44 I don't think that Aquamarine and Eyeball would've united as they did in Future. Steven is the only diamond and they'd probably be reluctantly loyal to him
I love how Steven universe still hasn’t died out to this day
Me too 😊
True! It’s like a mild renaissance
@@cryo9017That’s how it is sometimes and you can never quite explain it
@@ShadowyDolphine Yeah I still hate them...plus they suck.
It’s the scenario where the abuser feels bad not only for the victim but there selves as well for hurting the victim and pushing them to the extreme, but I think the cycle of abuse still would continue if Steven lived with them due to what they represent and because they still see Steven as Pink Diamond, “the victim.”
@@cryo9017I feel ya
I really don’t know what everyone was expecting when it came to the ending of this show. What, did y’all think Steven was going to shatter the diamonds or something?
Y’know, it’s been years since the finale, and I have yet to see someone come up with a viable hypothetical for the ending of this series that fixes their issue of the diamonds “getting off the hook to easily” while also remaining consistent with the themes of the show, with the characterizations of the characters, and still makes for a proper ending to the show that deals with the corrupted gems and keeps earth safe
If anything, I would argue that Steven Universe teaches us the right lesson: that it doesn’t matter how bad the apple is, what matters most is doing the right thing that serves the most benefit.
@@estebangutierrez160plus, it just doesn’t work out in the long run
If the diamonds were shattered then the corrupted gems remain waxed and we’ve seen how vengeful Homeworld gems were from when rose quartz supposedly shattered Pink Diamond, so what do you think is gonna happen after all 3 diamonds are shattered by their traitor Diamond, exactly? What does that mean for earth? What could possibly happen next other than the *utter annihilation of the planet???*
This is why Optimus Prime ain’t written like these people istg, they would be the ones to pull the trigger and then ask important questions
Exactly!!!!!!!
Rejunvating the diamonds.
Sealing them away within another object or being. Said object or being inherits the diamonds powers so that gem life can continue and corruption is healed.
Those are some ideas I had as alternative endings.
@@DrawciaGleam02 yeah but that wouldnt solve the corruption problem
It's still hard to believe people think this would have been a better ending, the ending with steven going agaisnt EVERYTHING he stood for... some people just want to hate the show for exisitng
Some people think they should have been and the writers came up with a way to make it happen
But yeah he wouldn't do something like that but it's interesting to talk about
That ending would be such a fan service move on the side of the haters
I think people would have been okay if another character had done the shattering instead of Steven......
@@DrawciaGleam02 yeah
@@DrawciaGleam02 yeah but like this what if stated the fighting would just continue and get even worse
Good point
@audreyharris7643 Thanks

For a good parallel to what would happen, see what happens in Avatar after Zaheer goes to the Earth Kingdom
@@pedroff_1 Really good example.
I like how this shows that just killing a villain won't just result in peace and harmony. Basically, the trolley problem is bullshit
I've mostly seen people say they deserve it for what they did not that it would make everything better mostly that it would help
I guess the corrupted gems stay corrupted in this scenario for FANSERVICE
True.
But then stories could be written about gems like Aquamarine and Eyeball learning to accept change and the flaws of their leaders.
@@DrawciaGleam02Yeah but it’s been made clear that Aquamarine and Ruby won’t change cuz they hate Steven.
_Just like us humans._
They aren't "space Nxzis".
Why did I hear him say this as soon as your comment popped up 😂
I honestly thought the Sneople purposefully created the Gempire.
1:33 I guess steven is the human representation of every gem-human hybrid.
I haven’t thought about Steven universe in like a year but just today I was wanting to rewatch some of it! Sweet
Finally I have a video to turn to when people make the stupid argument about Steven not shattering the diamonds
You gotta do more SU what if's 😭
There’s at least 2 more!!!!
Thank you for this wonderful New Years' gift. It's the present that we all had forgotten we were missing.
5:00 omg this has been something I’ve been imagining for years but I thought I was the only one who would want something like this, the idea of Emerald and other Gem Antagonist joining forces is just too good to pass up, I especially like the idea of Emerald being in charge.

I don't think she can..... You know it's not that easy to shatter white diamond 💀 she's the whole control
Id love to see tons of steven universe what ifs on this channel. Theres so much potential for story. Also loved the use of Shadow the hedgehog music.
I was literally just watching the Pink Diamond character in reverse video
I don't see the point in bismuth shooting Yellow and Blue, she saw that they were both on their side and saw them having their bodies taken over
idk why people hate the idea of redeeming the diamonds so much. like... this is a show primarily aimed at kids and teens, it's fictional and that's how the entire show has gone. in one of the art books rebecca comment that they wanted to tell a story where Just For Once, everybody can see the error of their ways, change and become better. ... isn't that a nice thought?? isn't it nice to have just one show, one little reality where you get that peaceful ending? no it's not that easy in real life, no you can't sing a song to a bigot and suddenly they're your best friend. but it is A Story, and frankly i think the idea that truly anybody can realize their mistakes, that they can change and even repair the damage they've caused Is A Nice Little Thought. ... also yeah the show got cancelled and lost 3 seasons, i don't blame them for rushing season 5 the way they did. nobody talks about that enough. it's not their fault it was rushed.
There is a fanmade steven universe comic called white steven where steven universe himself is white diamond instead of pink diamond and the story is good so far and may or may not still be ongoing and there is another story where steven fuses with jasper into a fusion known as pink onyx
Considering that I just finished Marvel's What If...?, this video was fitting for me, also a complete coincidence.

*If they can shatter them, then they can shatter all*
Steven and Gang manage to save Blue and Yellow's gems... But White is not so lucky, her gem gets shattered into pieces right as steven opens the door to her chamber. *Some bits even turned to dust so no magic spit, diamond fluid will fix her fully*
Causing him to unleash his pink form with full rage. Pinning all the agents present to the walls.
THE ROUNDTABLE RETURNS AS IM DEEP INTO MY SU FIXATION YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY
I watch these before bed but its 4 am and every day at 4 am i turn into a frog
I can't wait to see which artist or group of artists make all of this through Visual fan comics 😁🤩
While I hate how rushed the ending was, I like that Steven’s ideology won out with enough perseverance. But don’t get me wrong, these alternate endings are awesome and would be fun to explore. But with that said, PLEASE finish Rewritten! I was loving that story and want to know how it ends!

My question what if they did get shattered how would the corrupted gems get healed cuz we need all four diamonds to do it?
Exactly.
They wouldn't. Shattering the diamonds would mean abandoning all the corrupted and shattered gems to their fates. Forever.
The use of Kingdom Hearts music in the vid made me feel more emotional than usual
I also have a diamond what if. But my is more of " What If Steven sacrificed himself to save everyone from his monster self "
This is how it might've played out
The Crystal Gems and The Diamonds are trying their best to find a way to fix Steven. When out of nowhere, some cosmic beings appeared. Revealing themselves as the creators of the Diamonds. When they sense that Steven was in trouble, they came as fast as possible. They suggest that the only way to save Steven from this form is to separate him from his gem
dun Dun DUUUUN-
Wat a twiistttt

Why would only the other diamonds shatter (blue, yellow), and not the rest that were under white's control at the time??
You could argue that their gem placement wasn't the same, But neither were blue and yellow's gem placements. infact, most of them werent. Except for pearl.
I dont quite get why they would shatter anyway. white diamond was shattered, and it seems like they're only copying her movements. so wouldn't her being shattered in that moment just free them from her control like the regular gems? (Pearl, garnet, amethyst, pink pearl?)
Sorry if there was something in the show I didnt catch or something that would totally back your video up, its been awhile since I've watched the show but I occasionally rewatch favorite episodes. "change your mind" being one of them.
Happy New Year’s Roundtable Crew!
These what ifs are perfect
I think saying that the diamonds were redeemed is kinda crazy tbh, like both in the movie and future we are shown that Steven is not on good terms with them and has a lot of complicated opinions on them that he's keeping in the back of his head cuz he basically just doesn't wanna talk about it rn
I have no doubt in my mind that if Steven Universe was given a proper adult continuation, the Diamonds would be addressed again, just to give them a proper closure if anything
I always got the sense that the diamonds weren't redeemed but where playing house with Steven. They where just so happy pink was back that they just went along with his demands. Personally I think that will only last like 100 years (assuming Steven even lives that long) before they get back to normal.
Pretty good concept.
Happy New Year!!!
You should do a full version of this. I guarantee you can make some money off of that not saying that you have to. I’m just saying if you do make a full version it would probably be really good.
Hey, by the way, when you made that Amphibia video about her making the portal, I guess that two years before the video😅
And Spinel is still upset about Pink forgetting her and exacts revenge STILL.
Happy new year
Happy New Years
I understand shattering White but Bismuth shattering the other 2 just seems unrealistic with how she has seen the two interact positively with Steven on Earth and how she can see that both are under White's control.
What if videos on the roundtable might actually be fire ngl🐗
It really does stand by the question of "What If..." I mean if things went differently in the finale. That opening question really hits the key note here. :)
Make more Steve universe rewriting please and this video is really goood and happy new year
The video rocks, dude! 🤩
WE NEED A WHAT IF VERSION FOR STEVEN UNIVERSE, like what if pink diamond finished her colony, or what if rose never met Greg (and how Steven’s absence would effect the current time in season 1-7) or what if Steven never told the other gems rose was pink
Didn't this used to say PART 1 somewhere yesterday?
Tbh I feel like if the diamonds were shattered it’d end up being like a sort of reset where the diamond army invades and only a small part of the crystal gems survive. Similar to what happened when Rose “shattered” Pink Diamond
Happy new years🎉
We’d have a serious risk taking and more invested show if this were to happen
Happy new year 🎊
Forgot you did what ifs dang it's been a while
So it’s best if bismuth didn’t come earlier 😬
You should do a what If were the diamonds shattered the Crystal Gems excluding Steven since he IS a diamond.
Now that Alternate ending was a good twist that would actually work.
Can you please do a character history and development video of Lapis Lazuli?
Why would we say it has a bad. Steven is a diamond too, i feel that the rest of the gems on home world would still be crushed but what's still submit to Steven him being the last one of the diamond authority.
Happy new years and I love the OST
And please more 14:09
This will be a lot to say, so apologies for the incoming wall of text.
I feel Eyeball (Ruby) and Aquamarine’s involvement with the Emerald Authorities would have more of an opportunistic motive than simply revenge (though revenge would be a factor, just on a more personal level)
The two of them would try to use the Emerald’s discourse towards one another to raise themselves to higher places of power. 😏
As for Aquamarine, she’s always seen herself as simply better than other Gems. (which for her, is pretty much on-brand) 😈
In the Alternate-Alternate Ending, Steven and his friends might have to contend with with the two in different ways: for Eyeball, it may have to come down to a one-on-one between Eyeball & Steven in which Steven ends up proofing then bubbling her to perhaps be taken to trial.
@TheRoundtable happy new years eve Kevin hope you have grate new years eve and new years day
The crossfusion, offcolor, free-for-all sounds both beautiful and hellish (as free-for-alls tend to go)
Can you please do star vs the forces of evil ?
Like what if star and marco never danced under the blood moonlight.
Please do this what if ,if you see it as an interesting new plot with lots of potential .
Happy New Year 🎉
Wait a minute, Bismuth only aimed at White Diamond, not Yellow or Blue, so why did they get shattered? And if it was because they were under White’s control then why didn’t the Crystal Gems shatter? I know this may sound dumb, but I don’t remember him saying that Bismuth shot the Breaking Point at the other Diamonds
Happy new years
Fuck yeah! AU time!
Hm, very interesting idea, i wonder what next will be like?
This one kind of reminds me of the All Hail Empress Pink AU.
i definitely feel like bismuth would have suffered the same fate as the other 3 and white pearl. White appears to be quick, especially with 6 other gems blasting at her.
Gem Game of Thrones is NOT what I expected from this and I'm there for it,with Steven being the rightful heir to Homeworld
PLEAZE do another episode for rewritten!!! I speak for a lot of us when we say we need more!!!
Have a happy new year everybody🎉
I like these alternate timelines ❤
