    I would absolutely love to see an "ALIENS" or "AvP" cabinet like this, even more so "Discs of TRON".

    I'll stick to my Cowabunga collection I have for Nintendo Switch. I played some full size stand up arcade machines at the Washington State Gaming Expo at Puyallup fairgrounds on Saturday though. That was cool. Great job on this video!

    It’s neat, but I’m pretty happy with Arcade1UP’s TMNT countercade, which has full-sized buttons and joysticks and a beautiful large screen. It’s only two player, but, really, how many people are going to jump on this thing anyway?

    cool! I hadn't seen on of these cabinets before! Wow, what a nice generous size...but those controls are so tiny. Colors on the cabinet look so vibrant! The sound seems pretty decent also. Still love the coin slots.👍

      I don’t have this one (at least not yet-hope to grab one at some point), but I have a few other Quarter Arcades and I can tell you they are VERY playable. They are big enough that it kind of pulls you into the game and you almost forget that the controls are smallish-it probably helps that we’ve gotten used to handheld devices.

    This review brought back good memories as the shopping mall in my home town used to have a pizza parlor in the early 90s which had a TMNT cab and my brother and I would go there just to play the game even if we didn’t get any pizza. Not surprised at the high rating, I own the Numskull Quarter Arcade unit for Bubble Bobble and they do very high quality work.

    raph is the best for speed and his special move. Don has the longest reach, Leo has 2nd longest reach and mike is slightly slower then raph but has fast attacks. If you want the most kills for leaderboard pick Raph. If you want to beat the game hit and move then pick don or leo.

    I remember playing this game in the arcade section of Windsor Waterworks (a water slide park) on my friend's birthday one summer when we were in junior high school. There were 4 of us together at the park, so we all played simultaneously as each of the 4 turtles. Fun times.

    Numbskull does an admirable job with these cabinets. I have one of their retro dollar coin machines and it's nice, but it's not a solid construction or as tight as these arcade cabinets. 🎉 The look, feel and sounds are exactly like the arcade experience and as close as you can get without having a full scale replica one from Arcade 1UP or an authentic TMNT arcade in your home or garage.

    Did you happen to go to UF in Gainesville? Sounds like you're describing the Reitz Union, but a lot of colleges have similar setups.
    Another great video my friend, you have become/ Are becoming the defacto Atari repair man for UA-cam. I think if you keep up with these kind of videos and the tutorials you're going to see the explosive channel growth you've been hoping for. There really is no comparison, your tutorials and diy guides stand alone. Keep it up!...please!

    Looks pretty sweet, but I have both games on the Cowabunga Collection on my PS4 so I'll just play TMNT on that. I'm saving my money for Zookeeper. With the Cowabunga Collection out, I assume companies like Numbskull, and Arcade 1Up, and anyone else, is having a hard time selling any products with TMNT games on them.

    • @wileyhansen4143
      @wileyhansen4143 5 місяців тому

      No problem. Just get a 1/6th scale GRS Build-a-Cade and download the Captain Silver MAME ROM to make your own. You power it with a Raspberry Pi3 or Pi4....and Arcade Graphix can custom make the cabinet artwork for you if some appropiate images can be found for it.

    The irony is that I would genuinely recommend the Genesis version of the game (or even the Game Boy version of the game) rather than the arcade, all things being equal! Alas, this will be bought and sold as a mere shelf decoration, and for that purpose, nobody will be disappointed with the purchase.

    • @WhatsOnMyShelf

      There is a tinier, much cheaper TMNT 89 cab (Tiny Arcade makes one) which might justify its price as shelf candy. A four-player quarter-scale is preposterous as something that is useable.

    You could probably add a diffuser like tissue paper to the LED lights to "even out" the light behind the marquee. 8:14 I'm curious why companies like Nickelodeon do not claim copyright infringement on selling merch with their IP such as TMNT.

    • @GenXGrownUp
      @GenXGrownUp  5 місяців тому

      Infringement? Numskull licensed TMNT directly from Nickelodeon (who now owns the turtles IP). So they're not upset because they got PAID! 😉

    It would be cool if they would have made it bigger / with bigger screen sticks & bigger buttons / & actually have it to insert the little coins in it for credits / like the Ghouls in Ghost they did / especially for the price it is / its kind of expensive

    • @ThorKCade
      @ThorKCade 5 місяців тому +1

      The Ghouls and Ghosts cabinet is a smaller 1:6 scale from New Wave Toys. The Quarter Arcades from Numskull are about 50% larger which makes them more playable, but also more expensive.
      I kind of prefer Replicades for the lower price and all the extra features they pack in (like coins and coin operation, and HDMI out), but I still love my Polybius, Dig Dug, Pac-Man, Galaga, and Space Invaders pt II Quarter Arcades. Jon is spot on in his review: They are expensive, but not overpriced.

      @GenXGrownUp  5 місяців тому +1

      No single product is going to please everyone. If you're looking for a larger device, Arcade1Up's offerings may be more to your liking.

    • @ThorKCade
      @ThorKCade 5 місяців тому

      @@jayjayshowcaser5859 If you think Quarter Arcades are overpriced, you should see the prices for 18” quarter scale figures (ie. Equivalent size and detail) from Sideshow Collectibles-prices START as low as $500.
      For the quality and level of detail that Numskull and New Wave Toys put into their products, they can be too expensive for many casual fans, but as collectible replicas, they hold or increase in value over time pretty well.
      As Jon said, if having something closer to the size of a real arcade machine is more important to you than having a detailed replica, Arcade1Up has some great options, but based on the quality of materials that you use to put together an A1U, they are relatively inexpensive but often still overpriced in my opinion.
      If you can find an A1U Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet for the same price or less than the Quarter Arcade, it would be a great choice since you get both games and online play. But when you decide that it is taking up too much space in your home and want to try to resell it, the QA is going to be easier to store and ship and would likely fetch a higher resale price.
