Good content. Although I would note I have had 20 of these in my yard for 25 years. Its much easier to replace the guts of the thing with no digging involved. Only once in 25 years did I have to dig one out and replace it. A truck had driven over it and broke the housing.

Also, I have installed one of these on a sprinkler spike that I can connect to a garden hose. You can take the guts out of one in the ground and use the housing on a spike to troubleshoot issues with the mechanism without having to get back down on the ground to reinstall it. Saves the back and knees.

Thanks for watching and the support. I usually change the whole thing. Customer paid for the whole sprinkler, I like to make them happy. But if it’s a tight squeeze or a lot of roots, I will just remove the guts. And it’s best to clean the pot before, and after removing the guts, makes it easier when installing the new one

Such a great video. I've recently replaced all my heads, fixed cracked lines, dug/re-dug them to the exact heights of the yard. Even replaced 6 inline zone valves and wired them to my timer. But for the life of me, I could not figure out how to adjust these impacts and all the damn water spraying fast af. I really thought I would figure these out with out instructions.
    Thank you!

I wish my soil was easier to dig in like yours. Digging a sprinkler out is an hour project.

Here in Michigan we have sand topsoil and clay. Some clay is really hard to dig when it’s dry.

Can you pull up the sprinkler when it is not turned on? We bought a house and some of the sprinklers have roots growing down into sprinkler so the water doesn’t spray correctly. Thanks.

Yes you can. Just be careful pulling them up without ripping the cap off. I’ve seen few my customers use a shop vac to remove the loss dirt.

Sounds like it’s wear and tear. Needs to be replaced. 2 ways to replace. Dig out and replace or clean out the pot and remove guys and install new one

Why dig it out? Change the guts out. If I dug the maxi out I swap it for a 5000 in a heartbeat.

    • @tonybahri

Hello. I also have video we’re I swap out Maxi-paw to a 5000. Sometimes it’s easier to dig it out because the pot could be cracked and replacing the guts you have to flush out the pot for debris or the threads won’t lineup right. And not everybody likes the rotors. They like the Maxi-paw sound. Also, if there’s roots yes, it’s best to just change just the guts.
