What you said at 7:50 is something I appreciate so much. Hwasa may be really popular amongst international k-pop fans (and on react channels on YT), but honestly the amount of hate she gets online esp on Twitter is so sad. I'm so grateful she is grounded in her identity and loves herself that those words are meaningless to her. With Hwasa, her presence is just intoxicating, and to think antis say she FORCES this omg can't relate. Anyways, it's so lovely seeing you discover Mamamoo and share your journey and thoughts with us as you react for the first time. Keep it up! :)
"twit" really blew up, took korea and kpop by storm when it was released, it was crazy how big that song got. and everything about it was 100% hyejin (hwasa's real name). she wasn't the one involved in it, of course, but she was there at every step working on the lyrics, the music, the styling, the wardrobe, the stages for the mv... she was so hands-on with this solo it was crazy; it was absolutely her baby and the fact that she was able to be so heavily involved in everything along the way was great (it's a rarity, esp for girl group members, to even have a vote in what's going on with your music, let alone be in the thick of things with it)
the story of the song is pretty much a flip of the story to wheein's "easy". the songs are often called two sides of the same coin, and the fact that they each appeared in the other's video is beautiful (before they debuted, possibly before they even signed on with an agency, the two had promised to star each other in their first solo videos. with wheein's "easy" and hwasa's "twit" they did just that). while wheein's "easy" is all about 'i made you the center of my world but you barely looked at me and threw it all away before i woke up to what happened', hwasa's starts out 'you made me the center of your world and you're a fool for doing that'. later in her song, though, hwasa realizes she made the guy the way he is, which is when she calls herself a fool and a bitch. by the end, she wants to change things, start over on more equal footing... but by then, it's already too late, as seen by the guy removing her hands and walking away. he's finally realized what was going on and decided to move on, just as hwasa's character wanted to make things better. (hwasa's said that while the story is pretty true, in her relationship she was in the guy's place, the fool head over heels for someone not good for them)
as for "don't", that one also took korea by storm when it was released. it was a surprise hit, nobody could get enough of it. i see someone else mentioned how it got formed on the show 'hyena on the keyboard'. woogie, the producer for the song (and the bartender in several performances) is pretty much the reason it happened. loco had been on about hwasa being his perfect woman for ages, at least since he did an ost song with the group back in 2015 (they never met, though, each side recorded individually and sent their recordings back and forth). woogie actually reached out to hwasa and gave her loco's number so she could call him for the collab for the show. and seeing their early interactions was beyond adorable. def suggest watching their episodes sometime, when you've got time. no need to react, but if you want to, i'm sure people would enjoy it
they performed it live several times, which is something neither one expected. they thought they'd do it for the show and that was it...but, like i said, it became a huge hit in korea so they started performing on a few shows, they even did it together at both their concerts that year. hwasa joined loco in his concert to sing it, loco joined hwasa for a performance at mamamoo's concert. and both times, just like their live performances, she teased the everliving hell out of that poor boy, since he couldn't look at her the whole time they performed
and oh man, all the shipping of these two after this song dropped...

I've had a soft spot for Hwasa ever since I accidentally watched an episode of I live alone where she visited her dad and granny. I was looking for the episode Xiumin is in with Changmin and got the wrong one. But Hwasa has such a sweet relationship with her dad and her granny reminded me of mine and I was sobbing my heart out watching that episode. So I couldn't not like her after that.

That episode of I live alone with hwasa visiting her family made me cry. She’s very close with them and isn’t afraid to show her unconditional love for them. It was very rough for her and her family in the beginning of her training but she was able helped pay off all of her family’s debt

I loved your reaction! Thank you! Some fun facts for "Don't". It was made on the show Hyena on the Keyboard and both Loco and Hwasa wrote their own lyrics for it on the show and they were so cute and nervous. Loco had said many times in interviews before the show that his ideal type was Hwasa and that he'd love to work with her so the whole show really built off of that. The one who produced the song was Woogie and he was the bartender in the MV lol. Loco and Woogie were already friends bc they both work under Jay Park but the 3 of them became close after that and Hwasa even made a song with Woogie called "In The Fall".
Hwasa in the show said she really liked classic rock like Sting and he literally just put out the main sounds for the song super quick. I'd recommend a lot of songs he's produced if you're digging the vibe of "Don't" to check out in your own time. I especially love "Call My Name". Sorry for the long comment but your excitement reached me through the screen!

The only videos for "Don't" are the live performances. The collaboration, and the songwriting process itself, was the subject of a show called "Hyena on the Keyboard", which pairs up artists who have never worked together before to _try to write a hit song._ "Don't" is the song that truly realized that goal, becoming so requested it got these performances outside of the show that spawned it.
Other Hwasa songs incl Be Calm ( tribute to her late uncle) Orbit ( for k-drama The King: External Monarch, there is a MV but Hwasa does not appear ), Physical ( Dua Lipa remix collab, no music video but audio on Dua's channel ), Loving One Person (Hwasa and Wheein duet for Kim Hyun-Chul album, no MV but there is a live performance on Yu Huiyeol's Sketchbook)
There was a Korean program called Hyena on the Keyboard where they would show a song's creation and recording. Episode 7 and 8 have Hwasa and Loco making Don't and it's the most adorable thing I've ever seen because he's so shy around her. I recommend that whole program, just because I like seeing the process of song writing and how it evolves from the initial idea to the final song.

The song with loco "Dont" was made on a tv show called Hyena on the keyboard. they made it together and you get to see the whole process. The producer is the guy behind the bar named Woogie. Give it a watch there are some good songs made by other artists on the show as well.

FYI about the lyrics, Twit is calling someone who expresses their love for someone by putting the other person far too much in the center in the relationship and in that person's life. She's calling that someone a fool, a twit, for being so self-less in the relationship. Now that I think about it, twit can be described exactly as a simp simping in a relationship lmaoooo. That's why she says "you make me royal, you make me hero, you make genius" and so on, but she is saying you make me feel like this but it's dumb cuz I'm truly not that special nor deserve being put on a peda stool in the relationship like that, etc. Anyways, she also said that this song is based off a real relationship she experienced, I believe.

What I love most about "Twit" is the way she uses her voice. During some parts, you are able to hear her lower register. Also the production here is so cool. Her collaboration with Loco was so smooth. His flow is one we don't really have too much of in K-Hip hop.
