And that, long before the coming of the colonial masters our ancestors knew and practised spirituality; they acknowledged a supreme deity, someone larger than life, they may not have called him God or Allah as we know it today but they were in no way ignorant about him. Aondo(sky) is God for the Tiv people but the Tiv people are more closer to Akombo. The Tiv people traditionally believes that Aondo created all things but is up there, eventually it's the Akombo that's more pronounced in Tiv land, it is the western concept of laws of nature!
