I have watched all your IBX videos at least twice! Thanks to you I know how to do this myself. There isn’t one nail salon near me who does this so I bought the “ingredients” and learned to do it myself! Thank you for all the great educational videos!
I have a feeling that any client who is getting regular care from you anyway would have healthy nails in the end because you are so good and focus on healthy care. I agree with the Mr Salon Life. I know if I ignore my nails for more than 1 week, they are nasty, but regular care makes them much healthier.
I used to use IBX and I found it really stopped my nails from peeling/delaminating. Protecting your nails, by wearing gel polish, really helps them grow! And of course, treat them like “jewels, not tools”!
I'm very much hoping IBX helps with my damaged nails that split. I used builder gel and it totally trashed my nails after I worked so hard rehabbing them when I stopped using dip last year. Oh well, live and learn.
This is really great to hear. I have naturally "bendy" and thin nails that cannot take a lot. I switched to shellac because it actually gives my nails some strength even though it's not meant for that. However, my nails start to peel/delaminate at the free edge. That's a problem I've had my whole life, so hearing this has helped you with the same issues, I'm going to give it a shot! Thanks for posting!
Hello! I just recently found your channel and have been binge-watching your videos! My nails are very damaged from long term wear of acrylic nails. I had them removed last September and have been letting my nails grow out. They are still very short, of course, and the damage has grown out about 1/2 ways to. I also have hypothyroidism which has dried my nails out. I have just added the Kerasel ointment and am religiously using oil after each hand washing. Would it be a good idea to add this product to my routine or not waste my money? Thanks for all you’re doing to encourage nail health!
Congrats on your new lamp :) I use a small tabletop heater! I need to buy new IBX duo bottles. Because mine is from 2017 and Linda N said they only have a shelf life of 3 years. So I need to get fresh bottles for myself. My nails are crap! Hopefully with IBX and DD I'll whip my nails in shape. XOXO
Yes. Polish can be applied. I don’t think the polish lasts any longer. I recommend leaving polish off when there is surface damage because polish can add to the damage
You said this doesn’t work well on naturally thin and bendy nails. For people with those kinds of nails, what do you recommend for peeling? What about for surface damage on thin and bendy nails? Would the IBX repair still work?
HI Marina! I'm uploading a video talking about bendy nails. Is the thin and bendy because of the damage or are they naturally thin and bendy PLUS they are damaged?
@@TheSalonLife naturally thin and bendy (can never keep polish on more than 3-4 days and even gel polish lifts after 4-5). Currently also have surface damage from improper removal of glue-on nails.
Hi Anna, I usually apply Shellac Gel Polish every two weeks. I would like to try IBX treatment before applying Shellac. Do you think it may be useful to prevent nail damages due to frequent gel polish use? Thaks
Hi Anna! Sadly, I haven't seen much improvements. It was like 2 steps forward and 2 steps back. After the removal and treatment the nails looked better but after 2 week wear and removal again they were back to square one. I also compared where I did clients 1 hand with IBX for 3-4 treatments and other nothing and they were both the same. I mean you can try, why not. Let me know if it helped you.
Hi, Anna. Just want to make sure I’m understanding. You do like the IBX for natural nail care, but not for those who use Shellac or similar products. I use regular polishes exclusively - no gels. Would you recommend it more for someone like me? Thanks so much for your time, dear. Loving your videos.
Thanks again for another great video, for those of us left to our own devices what is your opinion of Nail tek ? So far the only product that has let my peeling nails grow and also keeps the polish on for a week. My nails are dry and brittle but hard and peel so hard to figure out.
Hello Kitty Kat :) I haven't used Nail Tek for years now. If it works for you then it's great! Dry and brittle I would say don't use any hardener but more oil to add flexibility. Which product from their line worked for you?
@@TheSalonLife since my nails don’t fit in a definite category l am trying the hydrate and the strengthening for thin and peeling. I did extensive oil soaking with solar and jojoba oils for a few weeks but my nails just kept breaking and peeling at the tips. Since l started with the nail tek l have to file the length down every week. I think it’s putting a new coat of nail tek on every day until my next manicure is the magic, also no polish chipping.
Could this treatment be used to condition natural nails under regular polish (dazzle dry)? I am a bartender so I want my nails to stay nice and strong. I currently use oils and DermaNail.I also use IBX reconstrux. Thanks!
@@TheSalonLife I think that it works very well. As long as I use it and DermaNail regularly, my nails do well. I also always do a dry manicure. I have always had great nails but about a decade ago I used the Ulta gel system for like 18 months. It damaged my nails which is why I started using IBX and DermaNail. I started bartending about 18 months ago and my hands are in water a lot. That’s why I started using the products I’ve used in the past along with Jessica nail cream. As long as my nails are polished, they grow. But the polish I have been using OPI matte base coat, Essie Ballet Slipper and Seche Vite top coat normally will last more than a few days, provided that I reapply a top coat every other day. I admit that I haven’t been doing that so that might also be contributing to the chipping/dryness. I plan to start doing a hot oil treatment the night before I polish my nails and I hope that will help too.
Ok I know it's not supposed to get on the skin, and I was very careful! But my first application, the Strengthen sort of moved into the sidewalls while getting heated. You mentioned it can move a bit in your earlier video. Is it possible to clean it up before curing, with a brush and either alcohol or acetone?
One time it’s not going to kill you but next time put less and leave more of a border. Don’t put it on like polish. Just saturate the nail a bit. With an almost empty brush
@@TheSalonLife Thanks so much! I did try to do exactly that, but I will use a MUCH drier brush next time. I think I may have overheated it as well, which may have caused it to flow more. Also, I will only do one hand at a time next time. I am very happy with the results of the first application!! I'm so glad I learned about it from your channel! Thanks to both of you.

Happy belated Birthday Mr. Salon Life. I hope it was a great one and that your Birthday wish(es) come through for you throughout the year. You desere them. :o)

Shhhh don't tell anyone -- but I just got some on eBay. I actually found a mini set since I wanted to try it before buying a large amount. The bottles are less than half size, so I paid a bit more per mil, but I'm sure it'll last me a long time.

Is Shellac better than other gel polishes and if so, what makes it better?
Love how your nails came out!!
Can nail polish be applied over this treatment and how long does it last and does it help with the longevity of your polish?

Which nail hardeners do you recommend? I have the naturally bendy, flakey nails that may not benefit from IBX treatment
