He didn't give a compelling reason as to why he left TI. My feeling is that Glenn Greenwald was correct about what he said after he left, and Grim just doesn't have it in him to be adversarial. Ironic, considering his claiming to support adversarial journalism.

Both Grim and Scahill may very well be the very best at what they do, except being at adversarial to their own employer.

In case I wasn't clear enough, I was referring to Greenwald's explanation for his departure from TI.
I don't think Greenwald left because the TI lunch room didn't have fresh salad. If you know what he said about Grim and Scahill, I think you know why he left.

Straw man. I refer you again to the second paragraph of my previous post.
Ryan's repeated insipid defense of "The Squad" is the only thing he's done that makes me "squeamish". Gonna Vom hardly covers it. That said if he and Scahill actually stick to investigative journalism it will be interesting. I've always liked Scahill's work even when I found his remaining at the compromised Intercept an indication of something weak in his personal commitment to his apparent politics. Grim is just a liberal... so meh.
I think they may have treated their positions at The Intercept as sinecures, but realized that its time is about to end. Greenwald exposed the internal rot, and TI has been leaking since.
I wish Scahill would be truly independent. At least independent from Grim, who's too establishment.

Problem is he’s not a journalist anymore. He’s taken a side and functions as a stakeholder pundit, just like his opinion nemesis Ben Shapiro. People have a tendency to become what we oppose!!
The lesson that we all need to relearn is that journalism doesn't always have to be what we agree with but what we need to hear and know

Great points by Grim, however I don't think it will workout that way. Sey Hersh reported on the Nordsream pipeline and there was virtual silence for 2 weeks. They didn't take that great piece of reporting and work with it as Grim said he hopes for the future of dropsitenews. They ignored it and then came up with a ridiculous story about 6 men on a boat.
What happened with Hersh's reporting is sad and shocking (him basically getting locked out of any mainstream sources). But I think it only emphasizes how important a site like "Drop Site News" can be. Hersh was only able to get published in the London Review of Books at the end. If Scahill and Grim can get a legit launch of "Drop Site News" they have the opportunity to make a much bigger splash with important stories.

I mean, how many news outlets can be supported? The trouble with so many is that eventually it's hard to distinguish one from the other.
Would you rather have only a few so there is industry collusion and a monopoly on the messaging to serve their own self agenda? That’s precisely what we have in corporate media. The way you “distinguish yourself” is by being fair, objective and consistent in your reporting/analysis. That is achieved through many voices. Otherwise, in theory only, you might end up having someone tell you somebody isn’t senile when that’s an obvious lie only to turn on a dime and declare that it turns out this person is actually senile and we all just noticed at the same time after not noticing at the same time. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
I have ended my subscriptions to Blaze, Crowder and DailyWire in last three months, all for the same reason. Still following Tucker, Kim and Candace. Well, and The Hill. Just signed up for free DropSite, see how that goes. Hopefully Ryan has outgrown some of his left-wing biases.

You have confused editorial comment with news and "hosts" with journalists. I don't expect a leftist or right-wing host to have the same conclusion regardless of corporation or independence.

My favourite news times of all times were when Kim, Ryan and Robby were co-hosting here. That was the best synergy - true mind-saver during C19. Kim was my voice but Ryan was a fair and strong adversary. Sadly, Jessica does not yet fit this level - she has no aptitude to argue her points honestly, without resorting to twists and flips of logic.

In reading through all the comments, i believe this is what being ratioed looks like.
When Glenn Greenwald was censored by the organization he helped to found I left wiith Glenn. He was smart to leave it and what happened between Greenwald the organization took integrity away from it. Glenn Greenwald is one of the best journalists and it was a very bad decision to not print his article.
Jeremy is a propagandist, the sooner he’s out of a job the better for honest journalism. Eff that guy
Scahill is an amazing journalist, and he was 100% the most important reporter on national security issues during Obama's reign of terror. He will always have my respect. Despite the fact that he didn't satisfy Jimmy Dore fans when he interviewed AOC way back when.

Scahill did a poor job moderating the debate between Glenn Greenwald and James Risen (about Rgate). The video is still up on The Intercept's channel.
There's no denying his excellent work, though his work output seems to have tapered off.
Whether your mentioning that "he didn't satisfy Jimmy Dore fans" is intended as a slight on Dore or his fans, this ad hominem is out of place. Either Scahill did a good interview (whatever your criteria are), or he didn't.
