Not to be the guy that always makes things religious but I always find it super interesting to compare human history to the old testament. Interestingly Uruk is known as the biblical Erech (Genesis 10:10), the second city founded by Nimrod (Son of Noah) in Shinar, the first city he founded was Babel.
